Will The Tech Job Market Ever Recover?

Mass layoffs, automation, and deceptive hiring practices have left hundreds of thousands of tech workers unemployed. Fake job listings and corporate ghosting now dominate the recruitment landscape, with only 8% of applicants receiving interview callbacks.

From 2023 to 2025, over 435,000 tech jobs were cut globally, hitting mid-level roles hardest. Meanwhile, entry-level opportunities and job offers for recent graduates have plummeted by up to 40%. Still, demand grows for highly specialized roles in AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

The tech job market isn’t dead—but it is transforming into a more selective, automated, and narrowly focused ecosystem.
