Surprise Highland calf discovered as I walked out into the pasture, didn't know anyone was pregnant.

This was a total shock to me, I saw the little white fluff of fur from a distance and my brain was trying to figure out how Snowball looked so small. I glanced around and really started to be confused when I saw Snowball in the opposite direction. When I walked up to this tiny calf I was not sure who the mom was for at least a couple of minutes as he was all by himself. When I found Spedette resting in the shade I figured she was the only one who could have been pregnant and confirmed when I saw signs of having given birth. The first few minutes of bringing them back together was very worrisome as she totally ignored the calf and my attempts to get her next to him did not work. I eventually tried to mimic the calf making sounds and amazingly it worked as a trigger for the two of them to start communicating and pairing up.
