Why Are There So Many Kinds of Warmbloods?

There has always been riding horses of different types, but after the wars in Europe a new type emerged from existing riding horses and local stock that re-defined the english riding world. No longer needed for cavalry work or in fact everyday work the horses in europe re-invented themselves. How did this happen? Defining, explaining, and de-mystifying the Warmblood term.
