AI GeneratedThis video demonstrates how to make \"Butter Swim Biscuits,\" an incredibly fluffy and easy version of drop biscuits. By melting a full stick of butter in the pan before adding the batter, the biscuits achieve a crispy bottom and a rich, buttery flavor. The process is quick, requiring only basic pantry staples and a high-temperature oven.
Probably the easiest biscuits ever but oh my goodness these butter swim biscuits are insane!
They are so fluffy, so delicious, incredibly easy to make, if you love a drop biscuit
this is just insane, okay? We're gonna get started right away, my oven is preheated really hot to 450.
I'm gonna take an 8x8 glass baking pan, I'm gonna add a stick of butter to it, I'm gonna pop it into
the oven because I want that butter fully fully melted and then we'll get going on making the
batter. These come together in minutes, all you need is all-purpose flour, a pinch of sugar,
baking powder, salt. Mix that together, oh I got stuck to a little bottom of that bowl,
whisk that together and then you're gonna pour in some buttermilk. I just make my own buttermilk
because all you need is some milk and some white distilled vinegar, for every cup I do one teaspoon
and let it sit for 10 minutes and then it curdles and you have perfect buttermilk, you see? And I'm
gonna add enough buttermilk to get a really thick dough slash batter, you'll see. I'm actually gonna
swap my whisk to a wooden spoon because I find that that works better. I'm gonna go in with like
one and three quarters of a cup, I don't want this to be like a loose batter but I also don't
want this to be like dry, it has to be like a very moist, you know, drop biscuit like batter so I'm
gonna put a little bit more in and I'll show you what the consistency should be once I get there.
That is what you're looking for, I'm just gonna set this aside, I'll grab my pan, you want the
butter to be melted but don't leave it in there long enough for your butter to turn brown,
otherwise it'll be kind of a mess because then all the solids will split and it's a whole thing so
just keep it in there long enough to melt it and that's it. Get that dough slash batter right into
that butter and I know it looks like a lot of butter but remember they are called butter swim
biscuits and trust me they are unbelievable and totally totally worth it. Try to even it out as
best as you can, I'm just using a wooden spoon, you want to kind of get it from corner to corner
and that butter as these bake it'll kind of like seep all the way through. Do not panic, please,
I don't need to hear y'all panicking over the amount of butter, okay? At the end of the day,
it is only a stick of butter which pretty much is a standard amount for most recipes, this is
just done a little bit differently. Take a knife, I'm using a butter knife, and you just kind of
get in here, you see what I'm doing? I'm making little cuts here, like how you would if you were
to cut these when they come out of the oven, you're going to want to cut them before they go
into the oven. And let the butter help you, I cut them into nine squares, just like that.
And now I'm going to pop this into the oven, really hot temperature, 450 about 25-ish minutes
and I'll show you what they look like when they come out. Look at those beauties! They're
phenomenal! They smell incredible, they were in the oven 23 minutes, okay? So anytime between 20-25
minutes, of course you know your oven better than I know your oven, I know that this oven is hot,
so if I were baking this in my other oven it would probably take a little bit longer.
I'm going to let these cool because I don't want to burn myself, obviously, and as they sit and as
they cool they're going to absorb the remaining butter and then you'll have a perfectly buttered
biscuit all the way through and then we're going to cut into these and then we're going to serve
it with some jam. I can't wait, I can't wait. I'm just going to go in for this corner right here.
You see how I soaked everything up? Oh! I've got to cut a little bit more on this side.
The bottom gets really crispy because of that butter. Back to my fork. You guys, did I just
break that into a million pieces? Here we go. I did break it a little bit, but that's okay.
Look at the fluffiness. Can you just see that? Can you see how fluffy they are? You split one
in half. My mouth is watering so I can't really think straight. You split one in half. I'm going
to hit it with a little bit of jelly, but I don't need any more butter because there's so much
butter in there, but you know what? If you do, then I say go for it. But to me, all I need for
this is some jam because I do love a bit of a sweet biscuit treat, you know? This has got to be
the best biscuits you'll ever make. They are. I'm not kidding. Best biscuits
and the easiest biscuits you will ever make. Ah! Mmm. Look at this. Go to the website,
get the recipe, make them, and I'll catch you in the next one. Bye!
