Flossie the Cat Evolution (1995–2026) | World’s Oldest Living Cat

In this video, we trace the extraordinary life and evolution of Flossie, the British tortoiseshell cat officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living cat. Born on December 29, 1995, Flossie has lived through more than three decades of history and reached the remarkable age of 30.

Flossie’s story began in a colony of stray cats near a hospital in Merseyside, England. She was adopted by a hospital worker and remained within the same extended family for more than 25 years. After losing two of her owners and later needing a new home, she was surrendered to Cats Protection at the extraordinary age of 26. In 2022, she was adopted by Vicki Green in Orpington, who had experience caring for elderly cats.

Despite being deaf and having reduced eyesight, Flossie was described as affectionate, playful and still very enthusiastic about food. Guinness World Records confirmed her title when she was 26 years and 329 days old, and by December 2025 she had celebrated her 30th birthday. Her remarkable journey is not simply a story about longevity — it is also a story about adoption, changing families, resilience, and receiving another loving home late in life.
