Utah Is Showing Weird Activity 56 Miles Beneath the Surface — Scientists Issue a Warning

Something unusual is happening deep beneath Utah. Scientists have confirmed earthquakes as far as 56 miles below the surface—inside the upper mantle, where rock should normally bend rather than suddenly fracture.
New seismic research has also revealed enormous underground channels that may be eroding North America’s ancient foundation.
