So Rija asks, Walter's World, what destinations went against your expectations?
Well, I'll be honest, I'm here in Liverpool, and Liverpool totally went against my expectations,
because I'm used to seeing, like, the British comedies making fun of Liverpool, and oh, it's,
it's gonna, you're gonna get robbed, and the people are gonna be crazy, and it's gonna be ugly,
and all this kind of stuff, but honestly, the people here are super nice, they're super friendly,
and oh my god, the architecture here is incredible, so it really kind of surprised me,
it went against my expectations, because I saw all of those crazy jokes about them,
I read all these things where people making fun of Liverpool, where it's actually a really
wonderful place to visit. I've actually had a really nice time here, okay? Another place that
kind of, like, exceeded my expectations was West Virginia in the U.S. Like, when we first went to
West Virginia, we were just driving through, and then I'm like, hey, we need to stop for the night,
so we ended up stopping for the night, but wonderful people, they're like, oh, you should
check out the National Park, it's new, and right over there. We went to the Gorge, and we saw that,
like, this is really cool, and then we went ate, had some good food, and then we did some hiking,
and I'm like, wow, this is really nice, and we enjoyed it so much, we actually brought our
friends back the next year for a two-week vacation in West Virginia, so that's another place that
kind of changed, like, my expectations were totally different when I was there, because again,
it's another place that you'll hear people make fun of all the time, when you don't realize it's
actually a wonderful place to visit. Another place that people like to rip on, that I found
actually quite wonderful, was actually Los Angeles. I mean, my expectations when I went to LA for the
first few times was not really high, I'm like, oh, the traffic, the craziness, oh, I don't know,
but after I went there, I really saw the people, the Angelenos are actually really cool people,
and they love their city, like, they really love their city, and they try to make it better,
and I know the city has issues, I know that, and that's what we hear about, but when you go there,
the food, the people, the going out, the, just the ambiance of being there, it's actually a really
cool place to be, and it went against all those stereotypes, and that kind of expectations I had
from seeing all the things that get on the, in media, and all this kind of stuff, and how they're
kind of portrayed in TV shows, okay, and then the last one I want to mention is Rwanda, because Rwanda
for me, and you'll, you've, if you've ever watched my videos, you know how much I really loved our time
in Rwanda, but we had literally zero expectations going to Rwanda, because there was nothing out
there about Rwanda, like, all we knew, the genocides, and gorillas in the mist, okay, that's, that's it,
so we were going in, like, I, I don't know, the genocide was, like, almost 30 years ago, so, I mean,
that's, that's gone on, and I got there, and the people were wonderful, I still remember, we came
out of the airport at one o'clock in the morning, and we're driving out of the airport to go to our
hotel, and the streets are so clean, like, you could eat off the streets in Kigali, the capital, it's
like, oh, wow, that's cool, and then I found out, yeah, like, the last Saturday of the month, or the third
Saturday of the month every year, the entire country goes out and cleans, you're like, oh, that, that's
really cool, and, and while we were there, like, we got to meet the locals, we got to hang out with them,
our kids were playing soccer with the locals, and it went against, not my expectations, I just had no
expectations, it was such a wonderful experience, and we're always telling people, go back, go back,
go back, you got to go, because it is wonderful, and what's cool is, yes, you can literally walk
next to gorillas, and they might come running by you to mess with you, because, yes, gorillas are
kind of silly that way, you can see the big five do safaris when you're there, oh my gosh, there's
this banana peanut food thing they have there that's so good, but it was such a wonderful experience,
and that's why, in my travels, I always try to keep a very open mind, like, I will do research on all
the destinations we go to, but I always read everything with a grain of salt, say, let me see
how it is when I get there, what my experience is, and these were some places that really, my experience
was very different than what my research was saying, and I'm so happy I still came to visit.
So, what are some places that were very different than your expectations, whether it was good or bad?
