How We Transformed Norwich Castle | Royal Palace Reborn

Discover our project to transform a 900 year old Castle for a 21st century audience! Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn was an £18m National Lottery Heritage Fund project which restored Norwich Castle to its original Norman glory. The project ended in 2025 with the grand reopening of Norwich Castle's Norman Keep.

We've transformed the Castle's internal spaces by rebuilding its medieval floors and rooms, improving access to all five floors and reinterpreting the spaces to show how they would have looked in the 12th century. Now everyone can experience a Norman royal palace and its stories!
