Hello guys and welcome back to my channel. If you don't know me already then my name's Sarah and
I'm a flower farmer in East Yorkshire in the UK and one of the most popular videos here on my
channel is how I wrap my bouquets in craft paper and that was that video was made quite a few years
ago now and it was quite rough and ready so I just wanted to create an updated version for
you guys on how I'm wrapping my bouquets in 2023 and the method is basically the same.
There's just a few tweaks to it so I thought I would try and provide you with a better quality
video today. This morning I've made a couple of gift bouquets that are for an order that's going
out this morning so I thought I would show you how I am wrapping them. I use this craft paper
and it is on a craft paper dispenser from Kite Packaging. This is a 50 centimetre long roll
and I think the the GSM is 77 or 88 but I'll put a link down in the description with all the
details on what I purchase to make my bouquets with and the sizing and things because that is
the most popular question that I get on my social media channels. So what I'll do is I tear off
a piece of paper and for this large gift bouquet I'll probably tear something like 60 centimetres
off and I use two sheets for a large bouquet and then I fold my paper in half like so
so that I have four peaks on it here and it's just folded offset like that.
I'll do that with both sheets and then I will cut a slit up the centre like so
and then fold these back. In my old video I was taping these back but it's not necessary
to do that and that just helps the paper to mould around the bouquet and in my bouquets
I use white tissue paper. I find it's quite kind of timeless and
chic. It just lets the flowers speak for themselves. So I do exactly the same thing here,
folding and cutting. So now I'm ready to wrap my bouquet. I'm just going to get some tape handy
and I've got my ball of string here if I want to tie it off again afterwards. Here's my bouquet
that I have just made and what I'll do is lay the bouquet down on the paper and the
kind of point that I cut up to up here is going to sit roughly where all of the stems meet and
start to pinch in and then they come out at the bottom and the top so I want my bouquet to be
sitting around that area and then I'll just take the corner of my paper and pull it upwards and
over the bouquet. Bring it together and I turn my bouquet over and do the same again on that side.
So we've got the paper, the tissue paper on and now we're going in with the craft paper
pulling the corners up and then sometimes I pinch the bottom of the bouquet
here and tie some twine around there just to bring it together.
So last year I had a rebrand. Previously I was stamping my logo onto my gift on the front of
my gift bouquets and now I have stickers that say bloom and grey on them so I'll choose a point
where I think people are going to look there and then I have these care cards that have the date
that I made the bouquet on, some of my contact details on the front and then on the back they
have some care information about how to care for the bouquet so I will just tuck that in there somewhere
and that is our bouquet wrapped. And I also have a smaller bouquet I need to wrap and usually with
these smaller bouquets I'll only use a single piece of tissue and a single piece of craft paper.
I'm just going to wipe the table down because we don't want paper getting wet.
So I've got another folded piece of paper there and one piece of tissue and these are the same
size as with the other bouquet I'm just using less of it so then I'll place my bouquet down
go upwards with the paper tape and I always like to if my bouquet looks like it has kind of a front
view then I will make sure that the the sellotape is at the back of the bouquet.
And I like this wrapping technique because of course it is environmentally friendly we're using
paper that can be recycled we're not using plastics and they look great effective on a market stand
or at the honesty box.
And the only downside is that if I'm delivering flowers and the person isn't in then obviously
they're not stood in water like they would be if they were in some kind of aqua pack
but I'm willing to forgo the plastic because I don't think it's necessary.
