I Tried to Save the Wood… Then I Painted It Anyway 😅

I found this broken pine dresser in someone’s trash and thought I could give it a better natural wood finish, but things did not go according to plan.

After repairing the drawer track, stripping the old finish and trying to fix years of hardware ghosting with oxalic acid and stain, I eventually gave up on the wood finish and painted it instead.

With a few repairs, a fresh finish and thrifted knobs, this simple curbside dresser is useful again and ready for a new home instead of the landfill.
