For four days in early September, the small town of Mandello del Lario on the eastern shore of Italy’s staggeringly beautiful Lake Como became the undisputed center of the Moto Guzzi universe. The occasion was GMG—Moto Guzzi World Days 2026—a celebration of 105 years of the Italian marque and the official opening of its radically transformed home for the Eagle brand.
More than 60,000 people attended the September 3-6 event, with estimates around the 65,000 mark once the enormous number of visitors, riders and participants moving through Mandello during the four days are considered.
Whatever the final number, the scale was remarkable. Moto Guzzi reported 40,000 visits to its newly transformed factory site and almost 30,000 admissions to the new museum alone.
For a company that has spent 105 years cultivating an identity built around individuality, engineering eccentricity and an almost inseparable connection between its motorcycles and the town in which they are made, GMG 2026 felt less like a conventional motorcycle event and more like a homecoming.
And for many of the people who attended, Mandello was precisely that.
