"Every day when Lexi came home from daycare, she would say “Ehyut! Where are you?” The night we drove to the emergency vet, we took Lexi from her bed and brought her with us. We figured she would want to say goodbye one last time but were not sure how she would take the news.

I remember she awoke at some point and saw him in a box laying peacefully in the room. We tried to explain to her that he wasn’t coming home with us and that we had to say goodbye and leave him there. At first she said no. Then she said, “Okay. Buh bye Ehyut” and waved to him. I picked her up in my arms and started walking out of the hospital, crying. Then Lexi looked at me and said “Aww. Be happy mama! No cry” and gave me a big hug 💕 After that night, Lexi never once asked for Elliot😔💜

Fast forward to tonight when we received a stuffed animal made to look like Elliot from Petsies and showed him to Lexi. She was so happy to see him! She missed and loved Elliot very much, and my heart melted ❤️. She held onto her Elliot Petsie the rest of the night 🥲 💗
