To raise the money to pay the tuition at their little sister, Charity's (Janet Blair), expensive boarding school, Faith (Binnie Barnes) and Hope Banner (Joan Blondell) are working as hostesses at a popular convention hotel. As Hope's boyfriend, newspaperman Tommy Hopkins, is covering a sensitive labor negotiation at the hotel, Charity slips away from school to join her sisters, and the Banner girls stumble onto a dead body in one of the rooms. Fearing that they will be accused of murder, or at least fired, they set out to hide the corpse, which turns out to be a lot harder than they thought - especially after an undertaker's convention comes to town.
