Historic Jewelry and Fashion! President Macron Welcomes King Rama and Queen Suthida of Thailand

For the third time in history, Thailand's monarch has paid a state visit to France. Marking the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida arrived in Paris for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. The highlight of the visit was the glittering state banquet held inside the Élysée Palace, where Thai royal tradition met French elegance in one of Europe's most prestigious ceremonial settings.
But what about jewels? Queen Suthida deliberately chose not to wear a tiara. Instead, she presented Thailand's cultural heritage through one of the country's most treasured national costumes, proving that sometimes tradition itself can be more striking than diamonds. Although her attire emphasized tradition, Queen Suthida still incorporated several important royal jewels from the Thai collection.
