Day two in the murder trial of Vicky Williams.
She's accused of killing an elderly couple
inside their home in Mount Dora back in 2022.
Fox 35's Alexis Clevenger was in the courtroom today
and joins us live now.
So Alexis, the jury saw a video
of Williams being interrogated, which was two hours long.
Yeah, Luann, jurors sat through that entire video
of Vicky Williams being questioned by detectives.
Now, in that video, Williams was actually shown
photographs that were taken at Waterman Village,
which is where the crime happened.
And detectives were pointing out the fact
that she was wearing the same jewelry and the same shoes,
but she denied that it was her in those photos
and claimed that she was never in Florida.
Inside an interrogation room,
Vicky Williams sits across from detectives
questioning her about a stolen car.
It's just part of a two hour long interview
the state played for jurors
in a Lake County courtroom today.
It was captured after Williams was found
by law enforcement in Savannah, Georgia in January of 2023.
Prosecutors say Williams stabbed Darryl
and Sharon Getman to death at their home
in Waterman Village on New Year's Eve in 2022.
Body camera video shows Williams arrest
at a Georgia Amtrak station days later,
where an investigator described Williams' demeanor
as calm and relaxed.
It's a contrast to what some Waterman Village residents
experienced when Williams allegedly knocked at their doors
on December 30th of 2022.
She looked like a tall, dark woman
with no vision of enjoyment or anything like that.
It was more of a scary look.
And she seemed to be asking for assistance.
She looked as if she might be lost.
And I could not understand what she was saying,
but she seemed to be in some kind of distress
and looked like she needed some help.
This resident told the jury Williams snatched his keys.
She advised me not to follow her.
She said that if I did, she would hurt me.
Now the state plans on calling even more witnesses
to testify tomorrow,
and some of those we are expecting to hear from
include crime scene investigators from Savannah, Georgia.
Live in Lake County, Alexis Clevenger, Fox 35 News.
