The Princess Diaries (2001) and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) are two of the most beloved Disney movies of the 2000s. Anne Hathaway got the role of Mia after she accidentally fell out of her chair during her audition, and director Garry Marshall reportedly thought the moment perfectly captured Mia’s awkward personality. Julie Andrews also revealed that she was initially hesitant about doing the movie, but eventually fell in love with the story and the character of Queen Clarisse.
