Tranquil Japanese Garden at Tenjuan Temple, Kyoto | Zen Atmosphere & Nature Sounds

I visited Tenju-an, a serene sub-temple of Nanzen-ji in Kyoto.

In the back of the garden, a lush expanse of green moss and towering maple trees evoke a grand continent with rolling mountain ranges. Before it stretches a vast sea of white sand, dotted with patches of moss that appear like small islands floating on the water.

In the foreground lies a neat, geometric arrangement of rectangular and square stones. This stark contrast—man-made stonework set against the natural harmony of continents, mountains, seas, and islands—gently invites us to release our obsession with the artificial and return to nature.
