Ancient Greece or the North East of England? Penshaw Monument is a 70ft memorial with two unusual features, one of which is still sealed inside, maybe hidden forever.
Built to commemorate John George Lambton, a man who only lived to the age of 48, this enormous monument sits on top of Penshaw Hill overlooking the surrounding areas.
But just what did John do in his relatively short live to warrant a monument of this size? And what are these hidden features? We're about to head over there on foot to find out!
