Sarasota man arrested on drug trafficking charges

Sarasota police arrested 58-year-old Lashay Smith after an anonymous tip led them to a home on Old Brington Road. Officers seized over 100 grams of powder and crack cocaine, along with packaging materials. Smith, a habitual offender with 14 prior felony convictions, now faces multiple trafficking and possession charges.
