Japan 🇯🇵 vs. Iran 🇮🇷 - Final | AVC Men's Continental Championships 2026 | Gold Match Highlights

Japan in red serving the Islamic Republic of Iran in white receiving for this ABC men's volleyball continental here in Fukuoka the gold medal match. Oh yes what a block that is Haji's off and running an absolute monstrous one-on-one against Nishida. Oh my days 3-0 there is no way the moment the only danger for Iran is that Haji might exhaust himself with all his celebrations. Oh what a block massive block great timing yes yes yes yes yes we love volleyball and we love watching plays like that run so committed to the action and still waits that last second to flick it in the direction Nishida. I think Nishida didn't think he was getting it. He drew both the blockers in the second time rain for him. Katsu knows who's playing well and he's feeding it well done Larry the person has right great block Nishida and Onodera got Ishikawa again. Ashir perfect pass ran and just too good that is so quick was waiting for Korea he's had to force that middle but he's done it well enough pass Japan take the set 25-21 they lead by one set to nothing in this all-important gold medal. Iran serving and receiving Japan leading one set to nothing nearly got Onodera getting in on the pass from Nishida he looked to be nice Nishikawa that was a slightly slower play out wide and he had a little bit more time. I think Japan like to play a fast game Iran have got the height and the power they don't need to play as fast as Japan but sometimes you get drawn into that this is world-class this is the best of the best type of hitting a pipe attack phenomenal synchronization and Onodera serves so well this tournament's the best I've seen him serve causing all sorts of problems there's a chance for a break point Iran's going to take it again carbon copy of the last one question for Pereira is can he hit the ball any harder and he tried goodness great dig Hasrat great dig Pereira this is crazy volleyball and Iran take the point that was off the charts amazing phenomenal defense not just to stand in the right place but to have control on the ball and Haji doesn't go for too much on the swing just swing straight in front of him challenges the Japanese block to be excellent massive serve oh yes well played Forteza he's straight through the block pass the choice is to go to Iran to bring up set point pass from Hasrat in the circumstances oh right off the face for Rad and the block was all over that and we are going to extras in set two and Japan take the set 26-24 they now lead Iran by two sets to nothing what time to get that Iran receiving Japan leading by two sets to nothing Yamamoto and it's a break point start for Japan which they've taken Ishikawa serves again but what a dig from Yamamoto and again good touches Nishida oh well played Haji but he's now out of the attack so Pereira steps in and steps up and takes the point that is awesome Yamamoto absorbing some of Iran's best in attack what a set that is from Fukatsu that might be the set of the match and I can tell you now Lord Tilly was going crazy this is causing trouble into transition oh they really try to force that and somehow Ishikawa is not in the way but it was he Ishikawa right so I'm gonna say this right now Ishikawa didn't get his feet under the with the serve putting pressure on Hasrat good set from Ashia what a hit good dig from Yamamoto Nishida fires it off the hands well he's straightaway calling for the touch the referee said no you're out yep that that pink he's nearly gone ball must have gone inside the antenna well done Ishikawa is really trying good serve good touches oh goodness me can he extend Iran's lead that takes all of the pressure out of it and then Ran hits all of the pressure out of that ball Nishida that's massive Ashia does well chance here big chance match point Japan Iran to stay in it and they have done well done Haji it's a good pass a good set a good bit of cover they are going to the olympics
