AI GeneratedThe speaker reviews the single \"Laugh Now Cry Later\" by Drake featuring Lil Durk. While praising the song's production and Lil Durk's strong performance, the speaker expresses amusement and confusion regarding the music video's athletic themes and Drake's desire to be seen as an athlete. Overall, the track is viewed as a solid release, though it offers little growth in Drake's artistic content.
It's time. You know what I'm saying? The single dropping, that means the album's already done.
This is a huge moment for Lil Durk as well because out of all the features that I would have picked
for Drake, Lil Durk probably would have been the last one, but I'm happy for Lil Durk. I like
Lil Durk's music. Bit of an odd choice, isn't it? But still happy for him nonetheless. Drake's been
on a spree recently of dropping a lot of music. You know, Dark Lane Demo Tapes was earlier this
year. Freestyle, two singles with DJ Khaled that I don't think are going to make his own album.
So these are good, you know? It's a good year for Drake as far as being active. Never known
dude to release an album and a mixtape in like B-side type ---- in the same year. Drake's new
single with Lil Durk, Laugh Now, Cry Later. I want to hear what it sounds like. Y'all know
6 Peter Parton's video. This is giving me some strong headline vibes, man. It's giving me like
that college basketball game vibe, you know? And it's got that bump to it already. The drums are
hitting like this is supposed to be something. Oh yeah, you can tell Lil Durk really dug deep
into his bag with this feature. He doesn't do bad on features, but I've never heard him have
this much presence over a song before. And if anything, I think his vocal tone matches the song
a little bit better than Drake's. The higher pitched tone that he's giving kind of offsets,
you know, the drowned out trumpets or those horns in the background. This isn't about to
make any sense what I'm about to say, but it's like those instruments are like coming from the
gut and, you know, Lil Durk is coming from the throat. I should have known he was going to get
switched. I should have known. If there's one thing I never knew that I needed to keep my eyes
safe from, it's Drake boxing underwater. I never knew that I never needed to see that in my life.
This nigga want to be an athlete so bad, Drake. I don't care how many NBA stars you have come to
your house, dap you up, and play ball with you. It's not going to happen, man. You not in the
game. That, for one, is hilarious. Drake's just, you know, off in the corner by himself crying
for absolutely no reason. And Drewski comes out of nowhere. I don't know why he's in the video,
but, you know, comedic. You sure? You got a tissue? No. No. Why would I?
What the **** is this nigga doing? Why is Kevin in your house? This nigga had it before like
everyone else. Why would you invite him? Bro, stay home. Don't drink from no cups. Give me the ball.
What is CLB? I like the song. You know what I mean? But what the **** does Drake know about
basketball? No, this is a good song. I think the music video, I'll probably have to just listen to
the audio because there are a lot of breaks and empty space in this song that I feel could be
filled up with more of Lil Durk or more of Drake. I did kind of expect the beat to pick up a bit
more and for them to have used so much space on sometimes nothing in the earlier part of it,
I would have thought that they would have transitioned the beat or moved the beat along
to something else or the beat would have evolved into something else. Melodically, I thought they
were both pretty much on point. I thought they rode the beats well. Not much in terms of content
here. I did hear a few jabs at Kanye, but, you know, they could be for anything. It's hard to
take anything that Drake says in a general sense. So, you know, that's why I say that. Yeah, but
the horns, I think definitely add to that celebration feel that I'm the man, I'm the one,
I'm kind of MVP feel. Notice to Drake, I think I would like to hear Durk take more of this song
though. I definitely like Drake's second verse and like the energy he gave to it and how his flow
was a little bit more energetic in the second verse as opposed to the first one. Durk, I think
pretty much dominates his feature. I would have liked for it to be longer, but he still killed
it to me. But really, it's just going to come down to whether or not you can tolerate this style
from Drake any further. I mean, it's really to a point where if you want anything more from him
than what he's been delivering this past year, the past two, three, four, five years. If you want
anything more than that, you may just have to look somewhere else because he clearly is not
trying to switch up the content here. And that's not bad. It's just to say that I've lowered my
expectation as far as what to expect from Drake. But that does not mean that I am going to sit
through an album full of songs just like this and expect it to be a great record. Music video was
cool. Definitely puts him in a different category in terms of success. And that's pretty much it.
Waiting for the album. Y'all let me know how you felt about it in the comment section down below
though. I'm interested to hear what you have to say about it. And until the next time, I am out.
Peace.
