With stories that matter to you, this is Fox six wake up news. Now what a
breaking overnight gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany survives an
emergency plane landing in Lake Wausau. His message this morning after
sustaining minor injuries and swimming to safety. Plus Fox six is getting you
ready for Hispanic Heritage Month. Our bro presciato will be live in just
about 14 minutes ahead of the 2026 Mexican and defendants say parade. Good
morning Milwaukee. We are taking a live look outside. She's maybe some
little spider webs there, but that's letting us know the sun is beaming. It's
shining bright on this sunday morning, but not for long. Yeah, not all day
situation. Let's put it that way because we actually will have quite a
bit of sunshine, but not for every hour. Let's start off with the good news. As
you saw, there's quite a bit of sunshine right now shining almost directly
into that lens. Here's a different angle that you see some thin clouds. That's
really about it. But a great shot from the Estabrook Park tower cam looking
down the river out over the lake and across the city. It's 61 right now. The
dew point is a pretty comfy 50. So that's a low dew point number, which
means as this precipitation to the west starts to move its way east, it
encounters some relatively drier air and a lot of that will get soaked up,
but probably not all of it. So I still expect some showers, maybe just some
sprinkles through parts of the midday and early afternoon. Northwest breeze
all day keeps delivering that cooler air mass. So temperatures will struggle
to get to near 70 today. I'm being slightly optimistic, but I think we'll
touch 70 for at least a brief period today. That still leaves us well below
the average sun came up for us at 6 29. It'll set at 705 P. M. Looking ahead,
it gets a lot wetter. We'll track some pretty heavy rain for parts of monday
night into Tuesday morning.
Breaking news this morning out of Marathon County, a plane carrying
Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany makes an emergency landing in
Lake Wausau. Tiffany issued a statement just before midnight. It says Tiffany
was traveling home from an event in La Crosse County when the plane suddenly
lost power. He says is the plane of four seat bonanza began to submerge. He,
the pilot and one other passenger were able to swim to a shallow area and
waited for first responders. A statement says in part quote, I want
to express my deepest gratitude to the pilot, the Wausau Fire Department and
all of the first responders who came to our aid so quickly, adding quote,
thankfully both the pilot and I only sustained minor injuries. He would go
on to say an experience like this reminds you just how precious life is.
David Crowley also responding this morning in a statement on X. He says in
part quote, I'm grateful to God that Congressman Tiffany and no one else was
hurt in this horrifying incident, which could have been a tragedy if not for
the heroism of the pilot.
Green Bay police are investigating a shooting involving four officers after
a vehicle drove into a crowd. Officers say they responded to a disturbance in
a food truck around 2 15 yesterday morning. Now, as they were
investigating, a car drove into the crowd toward the officers and
bystanders. An officer shot at the car. Police say no one was hurt from that
gunfire. Then they say they chased the car and arrested the driver of minutes
later, the police chief says the officers got hurt during the arrest. We
had a total of four officers who received minor injuries in this
incident. Not all of them related to the issue with the vehicle. There were a
couple officers injured trying to take people into custody as part of this
disturbance. The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of O. W. I. The
officer who fired the gun is now on administrative leave, which is standard
policy. The four officers sustained minor injuries. The family of a man
shot and killed by Milwaukee police officer earlier this week is
questioning the facts. After seeing the body camera video, loved ones of 23
year apprentice Smith say they've noticed discrepancies between what they
saw and what police have said happened. Smith was shot and killed on Tuesday
night near 37th and right. M. P. D. Says he and the suspect were inside a
vehicle that fit the description of one wants it in connection with the shots
fired incident in Glendale. Officers chased the vehicle first with their
squad, then ran after Smith, commanding him to get on the ground. That's when
police say shots were fired. They say Smith had a gun but have not said more
about the order of who fired first. Smith died of his injuries. An officer
was also hurt. We know that there's two gunshots fired. We're still looking at
just the order of it all. We believe that suspect fired his gun. The family
states that based off the potty kind of footage that they viewed that there
was no shootout that what ultimately they witnessed was an execution of
their son. Well, it tells the police are now the lead agency investigating
this case as required by state law. A judge sells evidence in the case of
Packers running back johns Jacobs. Records. So Judge Mark Hammer
temporarily sealed evidence in an order requested by Jacobs. This comes after
he pleaded no contest to charges of battery and criminal damage to property
earlier this week. These charges came after an altercation with his then
girlfriend. Back in May, Jacobs will not play in the season opener against
the Vikings today as he remains on the commissioner's exemplars. And we have
new details on a shooting that sent two people to the hospital. Milwaukee
police say the shooting happened near 52nd and Marion just before eight last
night. M. P. D. Tells us the injured victims are 17 and 39 years old with a
39 year old suffering serious gunshot wounds. Police are still looking for a
suspect and say the circumstances leading up to the shooting are under
investigation. If you have any information, you're asked to give
Milwaukee police a call and MPD also investigating a crash that killed a 22
year old driver and injured two other people. Police say that driver hit
another car after driving through a red light at the intersection of 20th
and Locust just after two yesterday morning. Two other people were hurt,
though are expected to survive. An Ironman athlete dies during the Ironman
70.3 in Madison. The Madison Fire Department said they experienced a
medical emergency during the swim portion of the event. The first
responders transported them to the hospital where they later died. Event
organizers, Ironman USA made a statement on social media saying,
quote, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the athletes, family,
friends and loved ones during this difficult time out of respect for the
family and the athletes privacy. We have no further comment. And still to
come and wake up a woman forced or face rather an unexpected roadblock with her
dialysis treatment. Jenna Sacks helped make sure she got what was promised in
this week's contact stage report and is finally here. The start of the NFL
regular season is today. A look ahead to the Packers season opener in
Minneapolis.
Oh, that's right, you guys. So we're just getting ready for tonight. I mean,
for today's parade. So just stay tuned with more that we have coming up for
y'all.
All right, a beautiful start to our day today. There are some showers in the
forecast. I'll tell you when you might need the rain gear and when you
definitely need the rain gear coming up. You're watching weather first with
chief meteorologist Rob Haswell. All right, it's 8 11 on a sunday morning
and things look very nice. Right at the moment we have 61 degrees with the
north breeze, very light in the dew point, very low sitting at 50. Now the
temperatures will get up into the upper sixties near 70 today. Dew points stay
low throughout the day and these showers will encounter some of that
drier air. I still think we'll get a few sprinkles through the midday into
the early afternoon, but certainly not a washout. Pretty easy going stuff. If
we get anything at all where you are, the chances of precipitation go way up
though, as we get into the first half of next week and really even into the
longer range as well. Break all of that down with sky vision plus in just a bit.
If you want to get out for a walk with the dog today, just pick your spot.
Make sure that you know you're going out when you and puppy can stay dry
should have a high today, a little bit below average but comfortable.
All right, thanks rob. Lots of color over the skies of Milwaukee's lake
front this weekend. It's the Ikea frank mons international kite festival at
veterans park. The event started yesterday and continues later today,
starting at 10 a.m. We joined you with scott live yesterday, telling you all
about this fun, free fun there. Mother Nature giving some good weather for
two with a nice breeze and expected mothers gathered under one roof
yesterday, bonding over pregnancy and sharing advice with each other. The
group, Birth Workers United and others hosted the community baby shower and
resource fair event. It was at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society
Museum on Central Street in Milwaukee. Moms to be got pampered and expecting
families could get their questions answered. Organizers say there's always
a need to learn. This was the sixth year of the event and celebrations of
hispanic heritage month and started today. Kenosha is holding their
festival or guio hispano. There will be a parade with horses, motorcycles
and dancers. Over 30 groups will participate in that local food and
drink vendors, dancing performances, mariachi bands and DJs will keep the
party going all day. It's the sixth year they're having the event. Last
year they had around 15,000 people were there. Organizers expect even more
people this year runs from noon to 10 p.m. At Harvard Park in Kenosha at the
Mexican Independence Day Parade kicks off later this morning. It will be live
from the parade on Fox six now dot com and Fox local for all of the fun and
excitement. Brooke Preciado. She's joining us alive now from the parade
route, giving us a sneak preview of the fun.
That is right, you guys. And as you guys can see right behind me, things are
definitely picking up out here at the at you most where the main attraction is
going to be taking place. Lots of vendors right now are kind of setting
things up as things are going to get going for the rest of the morning. But
right here joining me right now is Layer Reels Miss Teen Wisconsin.
Actually, you know, you're joining us here today. Can you tell us a little
bit more about, you know, what is it like, you know, representing Wisconsin
for Miss Teen USA as the first Latina? Yes. So there has been 43 women before
me and none of them have been Latina. So it definitely feels overdue, but I'm
just so proud to be able to walk on the stage and represent so many young
ladies out there who felt underrepresented, and it's something I'm
really grateful for. So for you, you know, when you were crowned, you know,
what came through your mind? Can you kind of just, like, walk us through
that? I remember just being so excited. I saw my mom jumping in this, like,
audience, and then I started jumping on stage. So if you see my video and you
see me jumping, it's because I was, like, happy with my mom. We were jumping
together. So for you, you know, obviously being the first Latina and
as we're stepping into Hispanic Heritage Month, you know, with young
ladies also watching this, you know, or is there a message that you want to
give them like that? You know, just love empowerment. The biggest thing I
would say is that no dream is unobtainable. If you really want to do
something, you know, if you set your mind to it, it can be possible. I never
thought that I'd be standing here with this crown and sash today. There has
never been a woman that looks like me, and I've been able to break boundaries
and open doors for other women, and so can you. And once again, you know, from
what I was seeing or reading about you as well, you know, you're both Mexican
and Puerto Rican, you know, for you to be able to represent, you know, both
flags, you know, what does that mean for you? It's something that I'm really I
have a lot of pride for. I have spent a lot of my summers in Puerto Rico, a lot
of my summers in Mexico. So just being able to represent both of my cultures
is so special and to show people that, you know, the Hispanic community is not
just one group of people, but it is truly a culture in a community.
Absolutely. Well, thank you so much, Leah, for joining us out here this
morning, and we look forward to seeing you later on today. Once again, we'll
pass it back to you, Bria, in the studio. Oh, Bria, honestly, so well
spoken. Representation truly matters. Let her know that, and really, her words
of encouragement were just beautiful. It's nice when you show up and you're
finally seen and recognized, and she did just that, and she has the crown to
show it. So absolutely beautiful tins all around. All right, we're gonna see
you soon, around 8 45 or so. And the parade started in just a few hours. And
a reminder, we'll be enjoying the fun and festivities all morning long. We'll
be live among the route from the rest of wake up, and we'll have a special
live stream starting at 11 a.m. On Fox Local. You'll find me, a bro presciato
and Durante Matthews all there having fun for a Mexican Independence Day
parade. Rob, we're getting people were taking the live there. We kind of want
to know the timeline for for our weather. Do we need to make sure we
have a poncho? Or are we good? I mean, here's what I always figure. If you
take one of those list, you know, you get them Walgreens. They're like two
bucks, right? They're like a teeny little poncho as they fold down into
the tiniest little thing. If you put that somewhere in the car somewhere,
you can get it. You probably won't need it, right? Well, that's good day. You
leave it at home. Oh, you don't need it. So bring it along. That is probably
won't need it. It is kind of one of those days today where you should be
prepared for it. However, most spots won't be that bad if we get anything at
and right now it's spectacular. Look at all that blue sky and sunshine. Got
some sun up over North Lake. Beautifully sunny at Carthage College down the
road in Waukegan and then right here at our home base in Brown Deer. Now
yesterday was also quite a nice day. Hit 84 with a low 64. So it was well
above the climate normals. They're not quite record territory, but definitely
warm. Nothing in the rainfall gauge yesterday. We are on the drier side for
the first almost half of September. Here were less than six tenths of an
inch and running about two thirds below the running average. Now our area has
seen some improvement, but up north is very, very dry. You've got a severe to
extreme drought ongoing in the north, north central, northwest and western
portions of the state. It's been incredibly dry. We have seen some
slight improvement, still some dry patches out there, but the moderate
drought that was in place for parts of our viewing area has eased off just a
bit. Now there is some rain to our west and it is starting to work its way in.
Most of this is already very light, but as it works its way farther to the
east, it encounters some pretty dry air. I do point this morning's around 50.
That's pretty low, very autumnal, and so there's not a lot of moisture to work
with. When it does arrive, it may trigger a few sprinkles, but only for a
brief period. And then we get a long break before what I'm really focused on,
which is the much heavier rain possible late Monday into Tuesday. So let's go
show you tomorrow's weather today. Short term again, we're doing very well
through the morning, up through maybe 9 10 o'clock. Looks okay as we get up
toward the start time for the parade. But shortly after things step off,
there may be a few showers. There's 12 30 and then it very quickly moves out.
So, like I said, bring that poncho. If you have it, you can use it. If not,
well, then you're gonna have to get wet. But even if you do get wet, it won't
be a soaking and then it'll clear right back out again. You can enjoy the rest
of the afternoon, rest of the evening and the night tonight. In fact, most of
the day Monday is dry as well. But by Monday night, we start to watch some
rain move our way. Some of this could be pretty heavy overnight, Monday into
Tuesday morning through the wee hours of Tuesday, their couple of rounds of
soaking rain through the midday Tuesday into Tuesday afternoon and then kind of
winding down by Tuesday evening. But that's a long stretch. If we get any
embedded thunderstorms, you could even get higher amounts of precipitation. So
today is a sprinkle at best. But Tuesday, excuse me, Monday into Tuesday,
we could see an inch or more working on two inches worth of rain in some areas.
That's really what we're focused on for the moment. Looks the same on the Fox
weather model. There's that brief period through the midday today. Then
it dries up again. You can see the dry day mostly through Monday. And then
there's that late Monday into Tuesday around of heavier rain at times. So when
you see forecast models like that, that each kind of look at the atmosphere
slightly differently when they both get to the same answer. Pretty high
confidence level of a bit of a soaking Monday night into Tuesday and to see
that chance of showers persisting. And that's going to be the case even on
into the late week. Now, as far as temperatures go a little cooler than
average today, upper sixties, maybe some low seventies, definitely cooler
tonight will be down in the forties and low fifties tonight. I kind of like
that for sleeping. Whether you crack open the window air, you know, air out
the house, bring some fresh, cool air, get a good night's sleep. Our Fox six
day planner starts off then with some scattered showers, better chance of
rain late Monday into Tuesday, warming to 78 by Tuesday, but falling back into
the upper sixties and low seventies with chances of showers and storms
right through Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. We're back to wake up right
after this.
You're watching Fox six News with Brea Jones
facing rain of failure in weeks of dialysis. One woman got great news. Her
state funding program. So why was her clinic's billing department putting the
roadblocks? Jenna Sacks has the contact six report. These are my favorite
books. Sue Cadillac's home library got her through dialysis in 2025. I was
probably reading a book a month. The avid reader in south Milwaukee has
tremors and a kidney disorder. My kidneys had basically gone to sleep to
pay for her kidney treatment. Sue enrolled in the state funded Wisconsin
chronic disease program. You are entitled to free care for anything
kidney related for the rest of your life. She was also entitled to
reimbursement for the dialysis treatments she'd already paid for out
of pocket. So they were just ducking and dodging. Sue says after her
treatment center was notified about her acceptance into the program, she
spent a whole year trying to get her money back from the clinic. Her best
friend gave this advice. Well, you got two choices, small claims court or
contact six. So that's when I wrote to you. Contact six reached out to the
center and sue finally got a refund check. We're so sorry. We're so sorry.
We're so sorry. It was a processing error. The $4100 that
sue saved are among the more than $30,000. Fox six viewers say contact
six helped them save in august working behind the camera. Our producer Annette
helped one woman get an ambulance payment refunded after her insurance
decided to cover the full bill. She helped a Milwaukee woman get a refund
for a gas gift card after the card rang up as empty. And thanks to contact six,
a new Berlin man got sections of his roof replaced when he was unsatisfied
with his new shingles, trim and gutters. I am so, so, so grateful since getting
her money back. Sue is able to focus on her health. I feel great. I have more
energy than a person has a right to contact. Six resolved 16 cases last

with stories that matter to you. This is Fox six wake up news.
All right. It's a beautiful morning to be out here on the weather deck, but
you'll have to pick your spot today. There may be showers through the midday
and early afternoon. So here's what's going on right now as we check out some
of our area cams all looking very nice for the moment. You do see the light
precipitation off to our west though and off to our southwest at that. I
think predominantly the southern portion of this misses us south, but
we may see some showers through the midday. You do see some frost
advisories popping up for the northern portions of the state where things are
really going to cool down as we roll through the overnight. We'll get cooler
tonight, but not that cool right now. We're at 61 is 56 in Madison, 53 Green
Bay as low as 49 up in Rhinelander and highs today should push into the upper
sixties and low seventies. There is more rain coming. I'm more concerned
with what's happening monday night, Tuesday morning than what I expect
today. So we'll track that next with Sky Vision plus.
All right, thanks for breaking news this morning out of Marathon County. A
plane carrying Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany makes an
emergency landing in Lake Wausau. The Marathon County Sheriff's Office says
the plane made an emergency landing in the lake around 8 50 last night. Their
preliminary assessment indicates the plane had a mechanical issue, forcing
it to make an emergency landing. Tiffany said in a statement he was
traveling home from an event in La Crosse County. That's when the plane
four C Bonanza began to submerge and he and the 73 year old pilot Leonard bolts
were able to swim to a shallow area and waited for first responders. Marathon
County Sheriff's Office said emergency responders located from both just after
nine p.m. Tiffany's statement says in part quote, I want to express my
deepest gratitude to the pilot, the Wausau Fire Department and all of the
responders who came to our aid so quickly, adding quote, thankfully, both
the pilot and I only sustained minor injuries. He would go on to say an
experience like this reminds you just how precious life is. Milwaukee County
executive David Crowley also responding this morning in a statement on X. He
says in part quote, I'm grateful to God that Congressman Tiffany and no one
else was hurt in this horrifying incident, which could have been a
tragedy if not for the heroism of the pilot. At least 76 people are dead and
13 people are missing following a passenger ferry fire in the Philippines.
Recovery workers brought more of the bodies on the charred ferry today. The
ferry left Manila Wednesday and had 132 people on board. 43 people survived the
fire. Authorities are also looking for the ferry captain who also reportedly
survived but is not listed among the survivors. Authorities continue to
investigate what started the fire. President Donald Trump is in Ireland for
the Irish Open golf tournament this weekend, though he made waves yesterday
after speaking about one of the country's most sensitive subjects.
Irish reunification
because any problem, but I won't let you. I'd love to see it unified. I have
friends on both sides. Great people.
They're Irish people. How could they be bad? Right? I'd love to see you. I
great feather in everybody's cap. Did that happen? It's gonna happen
eventually. Ireland split followed a roughly 30 year period of violence.
Nearly 3500 people died in that time. The UK's prime minister responded to
the president's comments, saying there is no majority public support for
another referendum, and there won't be a referendum unless the support levels
changes. An Olympic flame came to Senegal yesterday ahead of the 2026
Youth Olympics Games. This is the first ever Olympics event in Africa. 100
women marched in Senegal's capital to count down the event. They bought the
flame to a plaza in the procession to signify the passing of values between
the generations. More than 100 people gathered at a waterfront plaza
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean to greet the flame. Very ready, very capable.
The team have are doing an incredible job. Um, meant have been extremely
supportive. The venues will be ready. The athletes will be welcomed, and
we're all going to enjoy and getting to see a fabulous opening ceremony and
Youth Olympic Games. The flame will make a 2237 mile of Senegal with 400
torchbearers before returning for the opening ceremony, and the offseason is
finally over for 26 of the 32 NFL teams, including the Green Bay Packers.
They will be taking on Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis later today.
They remain, though, without running back Josh Jacobs, who was still on the
commissioner's exemplist. Kickoff is this afternoon at 3 25. Today's
sweater weather is bringing all the fall vibes. The civics joins us in the
studio to pick out some fall favorites.
Things are definitely picking up out here after you most headquarters ahead
of the Mexican Independence Day parade. We have more to come. Coming up
today, we are tracking a few showers for the midday. How that might impact
things like the parade coming up next.
You're watching weather first with chief meteorologist Rob Haswell.
All right, let's get up. Let's get going here. Weather first as we take a
live look at our day from Estabrook Park. Look at all that blue sky and
sunshine right now. It's 61. One of the important numbers will likely be
the dew point, which is sitting at 50. That's relatively dry air. Air
temperatures come up to the upper sixties near 70, but the dew points
stay pretty low. So as this precipitation moves in, it will
encounter some pretty dry air. I think there'll still be a few showers with
it, but they'll be very, very light at the moment. We're very much in the
clear now. While we do have a slight chance today, I'm more focused on late
Monday into Tuesday, Wednesday, and that could be quite a bit of rain. I'll
show you what we're looking at coming up with Sky Vision Plus.
All right, Rob, all morning long. We've been taking you out to the Mexican
Independence Day parade. We'll should be showing you live on Fox six now dot
com and Fox local when it gets started later this morning. But Preciado live
there now talking about why events like these are just so important for the
community. Good morning, April.
Hi. Good morning, you guys. And I mean, if you guys just recall an hour ago,
things looked a lot different, but things are definitely picking up right
now. I mean, just take a look. A couple of vendors have set up already. As you
guys can see, a lot of preps are underway, but right now actually joins
me. The you most board vice chair, Maricela. Thank you so much for joining
us here this morning. And can you tell us a little bit more about today? I
know the theme is raises and cultural, which is roots and culture. Can you
tell us a little bit more about it? So you thank you very much for having me
here. Um, is a wonderful event that we've done it for over 50 some years.
Um, and right now we're scared having the people set up their stuff that they
are probably bringing to our community. We have a wonderful parade a little bit
later, and we're very happy that you guys are here. And then there are
people here celebrating not only Mexican Independence Day, but Latin
America has their independence in September. So we, you know, is very
diverse our population, and we want to embrace everybody. You know, for folks
that are watching here this right now, you know, what is a big takeaway that
that you would love folks to kind of take away from this whole event,
especially, you know, uh, just like, you know, as it celebrates, you know, the
diverse cultures that we have, you know, Mexican cultures in our Latin
American culture that we're celebrating them, right? Like you, like you
mentioned, you know, um, we only not only we celebrating the Mexican
Independence Day, but a lot of Latin Americans celebrated in September, and
we want to include all of us to celebrate because we all come to this
United States to make a better living for ourselves, to get our hopes and
work hard. So we want to make sure that this is part of a celebrating our
successes. And as you can see, all this hardworking people that bring all
their souls and all the hard work for us to celebrate. So I want to invite
everybody to come. It doesn't matter what ethnic you're from. You must
serves a big population, not just Hispanics, but we have a very diverse
population. So we want everybody to come and enjoy a little bit of peace
over a little bit what we celebrate on this day. And it's a beautiful day. I
mean, we couldn't ask for a better day. So I want to make sure that everybody
comes and enjoys it. And if you have Children bring them over so they can
get a little bit of education and a little bit of our culture. Exactly.
And that's what it's all about today, right? Teaching them not just like I
mean, not just educating them, but also allowing them to get that sense of
that culture and live it right here, right in a greater way. But thank you
so much once again, Maricela for joining us here this morning. And of
course, you know, we'll have more for you guys coming up later on Sunday.
Back to you, Bria. All right, I'm really looking forward to us streaming
this live. Oh, it's gonna be so much fun. Thank you all for thank you for
waking up early. You were working yesterday and you're working this
morning. So I thank you for waking up with us and the party. It's only going
to continue. As you can see, we're getting you ready to celebrate the
start of Hispanic Heritage Month and the Mexican Independence Day parade and
festival starts in just a few hours. And remember, as I just said, we're
going to be there. A grill is already there. Durante Matthews will be joining
her as well. We'll have a special live stream of the parade starting at 11 on
Fox Local. Rob, I know it's gonna be a big day. I mean, the sun is shining and
they could not have asked for a better day. You might want to pack the punch
of what you're saying. There's a good chance you might not even need it. Yeah,
the rain that we might get around the time of the parade looks pretty light.
But you know what? That's really what if there's a rain situation, this is the
best case scenario. Exactly. And if you have it, you can use it. If you don't,
you can't. So bring it along. If you end up staying in your purse the whole
time. Oh, well, as we take a live look at our day today, it hardly believe
there is anything on the way. But yeah, there are a few showers to our west.
I'll show you that in a second. Yesterday I got to 84 with a low of 64.
So it was very warm day for this time of year. Didn't see anything in the
rainfall gauge. And that's been the case for a good portion of this month
already. We're running about a two thirds of an inch deficit. Our area has
seen some improvement, but that drought up north just keeps going. We've got
extreme drought in many spots in northwestern portions of the state. We
have actually seen some slight improvement, but overall we're still
actually fairly dry. Now the air is dry today as well. So a lot of this,
as it moves in, we'll get kind of dried up by that dry air. I still think
we'll see a few showers as we go through the midday early afternoon,
which is why I said, you know, bring that poncho along, but otherwise not
too problematic. The high pressure Ridge will fall right back in behind
that quick little sprinkle and we'll stay pretty dry tonight. Most of the
day Monday, but really focused on Monday night into Tuesday morning. So
short term, like I said, there may be some showers right around or just after
the parade starts, and then that's out of here pretty quickly, too. After that,
it's dry for the remainder of the afternoon and evening, and we tried to
stay dry overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. Definitely a cooler
night tonight. I'll show you that next. But we stay dry most of the day Monday,
likely a little below average for the high, but then starting to warm up on a
more southerly wind. And then by Monday night into Tuesday, here comes that
rain, possibly with some embedded thunderstorms, and that could lead to
some pretty heavy rain in a few spots. Not every spot, but many spots will
likely see a quick inch, maybe even two inches worth of rain before this all
settles down today. A couple one hundredths if we even get that. But by
the end of the day on Tuesday, there are many spots that will be in excess of an
inch, inch and a half or more. And so we are watching for that pretty closely.
And you can see it very much echoed for the next 48 hours here on our
exclusive Fox weather model. And when you have two different forecast models
basically showing the exact same thing gives you pretty high confidence of
what's going to happen for later in the day on Monday and into Tuesday. Now I
mentioned the temperatures today below average, but comfy in the upper sixties
and low seventies tonight. I personally find it pretty comfy will be down in
the upper forties and low fifties. The dew points will be very low, so it'll
be a really refreshing night. But up north, they might actually see their
first frost. Now, the warmer air does start to return along with that
additional moisture for Monday into Tuesday. We stay relatively comfortable
and pretty seasonal in the longer range, with one or two exceptions here, we
might actually even see a boost of cooler air as you can see right there
drop into our area as we push deeper into next week. But hey, let's take this
one day at a time. And for today, just a slight chance of showers high near
70 72 with a better chance of rain by Monday night and certainly into Tuesday
morning should be up around 78 by Tuesday, cooling down a bit in the
longer range and we just can't shake our showers and our slight risk of
thunderstorms as we look on into our Wednesday, thursday and friday. Lots of
rain, but that's okay. That's okay. You're gonna keep us weather aware.
This is a party over here. What's going on? Okay, so we're diving into fall
season with cities. They've got a great collection of fall favorites and must
have items of perfect as a gift for someone else or maybe even for yourself
because I want all of this for me. Okay, what is live in the studio? We
have Bjorn shenander, the floral and gifts director in syndics. Okay, you're
getting us ready for the season. Give us the lay of the land here. Okay,
well, one of the great things about fall is that you can change your decor,
right? You can make your homes or your apartments feel like fall. Um, so why
don't we start over there? One of the easiest ways to do that is to, you
know, get some artificial leaves, some silks and just put them in a
arrangement. Um, real easy to change that decor out really fast. You don't
have to water them. Not at all. It's all right. One of my other favorite
things for fall are these glass pumpkins down here. Those are perfect
because you can just set them out on a mantelpiece on your dining room table
and you can leave them out past halloween all the way through
thanksgiving. I was gonna say pumpkin spice. I was gonna say it kind of
extends it because yeah, great. I love that. Um, and another great way to
decorate is with fragrance. So you think about you can do the physical
things, but also like your aromas in your house. Yeah, it's a way to decorate.
That pumpkin spice vibe. Exactly. So funny you say that because we have
this fabulous pumpkin, uh, spiced latte fragrance. Um, it smells delicious.
A P. S. L. Yeah, I know. I love when you can smell the candle without even
burning it. Yeah. And that is rob means a good candle, right there. Yeah, that
is good. Like that's a good candle. Yeah, for sure. Um, one of the other
favorite things about fall is getting out and enjoying the fall foliage.
Right. We like to see the state. Um, and while you're out doing that, we've
got some great options for picking up other things to do. So like supper club
books can give you some good ideas to check out some places while you're
around town. Um, we've got a Milwaukee scavenger hunt book. Super fun. If you
got a family and you want to go out on the weekend, right? Um, and then of
course it's packer season as we all know. Um, so we've got some great game
day merchandise to, um, whether that's, you know, the checkers that you can
play while you're waiting for the game. Um, some shake and score games, stuff
like that. I was like some bar days kind of stuff. Yeah. Um, fun for, you
know, the whole family. Uh, maybe not the bar dice, but everything else
matching games. Um, and then of course, yeah, the last thing you need is to
pick, pick your outfits when you're doing all this fun stuff. So we can't
go anywhere without talking fashion. Um, one of the things that is super hot
for the fall are silk scarves. Um, you see them all over instagram tiktok, um,
for guys and girls. I was gonna say, how are you? How would you guys and
girls? You can do it around the neck. You can do them as a belt. Like,
really, there's no limits. Yeah, guys are wearing like guys. Honestly, I
feel like this might go with a bandana. Yes. I'm just gonna say, like,
the last guy I saw pull off his silk scarf was in scooby doo. Okay. So what
do we do? Just wrap it around? Yeah, we'd maybe roll it a little tighter
and you can send one of my favorite ways to do it is to tie it like a
necktie instead of, yeah, you don't look like a airline hostess. Look at
it. It's already. Look, I know. I like it. All right. You're ready for
Martha's venue. Yeah, I love it. And of course, sweaters and other clothing
items as well. Um, we've got some great stuff, some cool, uh, details on
these things. I was gonna say, I love, um, is that silk or the chiffon with
the cheetah? Yeah, a little, um, and it's on the, um, it's on the cuffs as
well. Uh, so cute and really any details on clothing is really hot for
fall. Um, sweater with the lucky duck, like, yeah, and that's actually the
back of the cardigan. Really? You know, lucky duck. No longer on the front,
like the, you know, like the grandma shirts. Yeah, a little more like that
surprise on the back. You get a surprise as you're walking away. You
turn around. It's really fun. Um, even these puppies and they've all got
sweaters on themselves. And if people watching, honestly, all this stuff is
fantastic. How can they find it beyond? Oh my gosh, we've got 14 stores
crammed with all this stuff and so much more. So any of our full size send
ex stores have this and tons of other candles, great gift items. Um, you can
find our locations at send ex home dot com. Um, or we're in all your
neighborhoods. So just stop, uh, stop in and pick all this up. That's so
incredible. I do. Yeah. With my other one of the owners, Margaret Harris. Um,
we go on buying trips and we pick all this stuff out months in advance. So
we're looking at the trends early and we're green gig. It's really fun for
work. I'm jealous. Thank you so much. Absolutely fabulous. Getting us ready
for fall. Rob's got a final look at your forecast right after the break.
All right, quick check of your six day planner. Yes, a chance of showers today
should be pretty light and pretty brief, but be prepared for it a lot more
active through early next week and even mid to late next week. So stick around
for updates on that.
So a Packers legend now has a brand new look. I'm excited for this former
linebacker Clay Matthews chin getting a lot of, oh wow, attention to recently.
Is this real? No. Okay, it looks like he got plastic surgery to keep up with
Luke's maxing trend. Turns out it was just prosthetics behind this jaw
dropping look literally. Uh, and he was just doing it for commercial. Okay. He
said he had to sit in a chair for about four hours for this chin to look the
way that it did. He said that just gave him a newfound respect for the Hollywood
stars who will do this before filming that. Wow. Look at them go there. It was
pretty convincing. I know you enjoy Johnny Bravo. Okay, Rob, don't get any
ideas like the mask.
