The Wild's Next Move Just LEAKED...
Sep 13, 2026
What he just said has wild fans absolutely hyped as Quinn Hughes just dropped a palm-shell report
talking about the
Expectations from this wild team heading in to next season and all signs are pointing towards Dylan Larkin
We're gonna be breaking it down going over what this quote means and where things are standing
Currently for this wild team surrounding any more moves ahead of the regular season
But we will have to break down here today as not Quinn Hughes contract extension talks
But more interesting things on the trade market coming from Quinn Hughes himself
We're gonna be writing it all down
Like I said here in this video before we do get into it, if you haven't already be sure to drop us a sub here on the channel
We have a lot of very very exciting stuff coming. The season is only right around the corner
You will not want to miss it
We're gonna have it all right here on the channel
But I want to go into this right away with Quinn Hughes's comment something that he said
about
Expectations from this team and really not necessarily on the ice. He said I feel I'm ready to go
I think the wild fans should be really excited about you know, what play and I think we're gonna be at our best
I think guys are hungry and we're healthy and you guys know Billy
I mean Billy could make a massive trade and add to our team at any point
I think wild fans should be extremely excited for this year now
Quinn Hughes had no reason to talk about a massive trade
but does he have any inside scoop and this really makes a lot of questions kind of fall from
these reports and this quote itself because when we're looking at a
Massive trade in terms of what Quinn Hughes is talking about. Sure
It could be just saying, you know, any addition could happen
We know this team is in a win now mode
but to me a massive trade and one that sticks out is
Dylan Larkin and I feel like the mind of everybody is going to that for a couple of reasons one because of how long these
reports are going on
Surrounding Dylan Larkin, but two because it's coming from Quinn Hughes himself
Quinn and Dylan Larkin are very good friends, of course played on the Olympic team together and considering where things currently stand on the market for Dylan Larkin
It really just is the Wilds still and being the only team available, you know Vegas was there
They signed Mark Stone to a nine million dollar deal earlier today
Florida got Brady Kachok, the Wilds are the only team who have yet to make a massive move and Dylan Larkin would be
That player would be the move for this wild team that would ultimately be
under the banner of a massive trade in Miami and even though the latest from him still seems to be
At least right now going to be playing with the Detroit Red Wings. You see this from a Red Wings spokesperson
He's still under contract as a member of the Red Wings any
Conversations regarding his future with the club will take place privately when a new hockey operations leader has been named
So at least right now until there is a GM in that Red Wings organization
It doesn't seem like anything will happen
but how soon after they do name someone is going to be very intriguing because that may be a
You know the qualification that the Red Wings want this GM to have it the ability to make that trade as soon as possible
I think a lot of that does because you know
Come from the fact that Dylan Larkin hasn't lost the captaincy for this season
This comes from Bleacher Report, but a lot of other sources and has been confirmed by the Red Wings themselves
Larkin's also spoken out
Kind of going about you know, the in-depth discussions with the Red Wings over the past few weeks will continue conversations
About the team's direction once new leadership is in place
So I still don't think it confirms any trade necessarily
But the fact that you're putting two and two together Larkin is stripped of the captain that doesn't seem like a you know
Something a team would do for a player who they at least even think may be possible of staying and a massive trade
You know, is that what we're thinking about?
Is this something that the Red Wings are?
ready to do once they have a GM and Bill Guerin has something locked in that really is something to consider and especially when you're
Looking at Larkin's contract. It's still very good folks. I know it, you know, he's not in your one of this
I've instructed wrong here
But 8.7 million that's a very difficult contract to pass up on knowing that he could be your number one center
right away right off the jump for this team and bringing something that
Another player on offense may not be able to have and face off speed everything
I think that's still Larkin as a player himself, although has not had the highest career point total or you know, a
crazy
Season with the Red Wings in his career. He's someone that on that Red Wings team never really had a
Superstar team, he's had some good players surrounding him, but it's not really had any type of player like a Crow Street, a Matt Goldy, nothing like that
So, you know considering that he is in the 98% of goals, 34 last year, 67 points
14 power play goals, 24 power play points, 53% face off percentage, playing nearly 20 minutes a night
He is someone that you know, when you're looking at the teams that are still involved, it's just the wild
I think, you know, that's a very very hard game to pass up whatever it may take and I do wonder if
Quinn Hughes at least has some sort of say on if this could get done, if Bill Garrett will consider a move like this
If, you know, Quinn, like you said, they don't have to prove anything to him anymore
But like you want to win and Bill Larkin will provide that to you at a much higher rate than you know
some younger players who
May not even make the team even though you're looking at Charlie Scramble who will be an elite talent at the NHL
No doubt, and Danilo Yurov, I'm kind of finding harder the longer we go on to get traded
I feel like the Wilds have a lot of trust in him and like we've been talking about, could be a potential first-line center
There's a lot of things to consider, especially when it comes down to
figuring out Bill Larkin's contract
Figuring out Quinn Hughes' contract
Also trying to fit Bill Larkin in the mix with that because once again
They don't have the most amount of money that we've ever seen
but if we're looking at a team like this, you throw in Bill Larkin down the middle, Aaron Hartman, Eric Knecht, Yurov and
Larkin, that makes this center group be
middle to lower mid tier to
a very very
Solid top 10. So give me your thoughts on that if this could be what Quinn Hughes is talking about or if this is just
something to fill into the conversation when asked the question because we know how much of a
reputation Bill Guerin has in the trade market when it comes to making this team better. Now
with that being said
It still has to logistically work and I mean 1.1 million right now in cap space for this season
Not a whole lot but going into 46 million next year
Even if you give Quinn Hughes 21 of that, you still have 24 million to spend
24-25 million to spend and really doesn't make that much of a
chunk taken out of what you would have
I don't see the Wild making too many major changes over the next couple of seasons
But if they do end up getting a guy like Bill Larkin or someone upwards of 10 million
They have the room to make that to happen. Plus you have contracts coming off the books like Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodeen
So even though you know, it may seem like it could be a bit of a cap
situation with 17 million to Kirill Kaprizov 20 plus million to Quinn Hughes what would be
8.7 to Larkin
8.5 to you know
Brock Baber, 7 to Matt Foley
It really does make sense that this could all work out in favor for the Wild given how much cap space they do have coming
off the books and
Freed up over the next couple of seasons. So folks, give me your thoughts on this down below and keep in mind
This came out from September 7th five days ago. Don't worry about the top part about the flyers bottom part
There's what's important that the list remains Panthers Wild and Golden Knights and from last we've heard the Panthers and Golden Knights are out
Give me your thoughts on this down below if you think it's possible if you think it could even happen at all
And would you do it? Yes
And I'm signing up. Thank you for watching folks. Hope you have a great day
