MN weather: Gusty morning with seasonable sunshine

Meteorologist Jared Piefenberg on the Saturday, waking up to some sunshine out there. Today should be pretty sunny. It won't be as windy as yesterday, but it won't be perfectly calm. There will be a little breeze, especially for those up north and getting up closer to the north shore. I think that's where it may be borderline windy up near Duluth. But the rest of us, just a little breeze out of the northwest. Pulling in some drier, comfortable air. Yesterday had some showers and thunderstorms pass through mainly the northern half of Minnesota. Even had a couple tornado reports off toward kind of west central to northwest central parts of the state. Now this morning, besides maybe a couple sprinkles underneath some clouds moving out of parts of South Dakota, we should have a pretty quiet day. Just some clouds, some sunshine out there as we head throughout the day. But again, that northwest wind is keeping us seasonable, but it is going to feel cooler because it is going to be cooler in comparison to how it's been recently. Your Sunday forecast expecting a cloudy morning with a few spotty sprinkles and maybe a couple showers mainly in the southern third of the state. Twin cities may see a couple showers in the morning. And then the afternoon looks really sunny as we'll close out the weekend on a nice note. It will be cooler though. May almost have that fall feel. Heading back into the work week, Monday looks like our best potential for a rainy day. And probably some rumbles out there as well. Speaking of gusts today, some gusts up in northern Minnesota, mid to upper 20s. Maybe up to 30 miles per hour in some places. As I said, up near the north shore may be a little windier. We're parts of the twin cities over western Minnesota. Some gusts topping up close to 20. Will be a noticeable breeze. It just won't be crazy windy. Yesterday was a very gusty day. Today, 75. The gusts are backing off here this morning. Mostly sunny. Seasonable day. Almost spot on for average for us. So a sunny one for today. Up to 75 again. Very close to average. 68 tomorrow will be a cooler day. A couple showers in southern Minnesota for your Sunday. Looks like kind of a rainy Monday. Maybe cloudy all day. A couple random rumbles out there. Sunshine on Tuesday. But a much cooler forecast and below average forecast after today. With mainly upper 60s to some lower 70s out on the horizon. Now looking for rain again. Maybe a couple showers in southern Minnesota on Sunday. Otherwise your Monday forecast. Best potential for a rainy day.
