The competition began with time trials to seed riders on a unique, technical track blending speed and precision. After a day of qualifying and a community barbecue, the event culminated in a head-to-head final where Justin Chait secured victory over Flo.
Welcome to day one of the main event here in Belgium, Lakeside.
We've got the event set up behind me. All the riders are turning up, they're registering today.
It's going to be a great turnout, I think. We've got so many boards on the beach already.
Riders have been practising since 7am this morning.
We're kicking off with Time Trials, which is going to seed riders into the main event,
which is going to be on this epic track that we've set up in the last couple of days.
It's an exciting track, perfect mixture between speed and technicality.
Definitely a new track design that we haven't seen before in the E4 Racing League or in E4 Racing in general.
And we're going to see some of the world's best action right here at this event.
Day one of the race. Sprint race is happening in a few minutes.
We're going to get on the mic, tell everybody about safety.
Riders on the track, we have riders on the track, over.
Get it! A big part of this is the start.
Who is going to get the best start? It's all about knowing your equipment.
Fastest time of the day, bro.
The track looks amazing. Quite technical.
Really nice slalom area over there that I've seen people just going for it
and then learning the hard way that they need to be a little bit slower and more technical on it.
Not just for the E4s, but for the jetboards as well.
And of course, it's the first time we're doing an awake jetboard race,
so I'm very excited to see how the riders take to that.
We're here to have fun, so let's see who the best athlete is and who the best rider is.
A custom race from awake with the jetboards.
We've had time trials for everybody.
We're seated for tomorrow. We're moving into the knockout rounds.
How was the day?
So good. You can't beat the organization here.
Now it's time for flight barbecue.
Please join us if you can. See you there.
If you can.
Thanks, guys, for being here in Belgium.
So cool to see everyone here on our flight barbecue.
Make a great day tomorrow.
Okay, it's finals day today.
Neck and neck on the beach. This is a tight one for the first half lap.
No final here.
And Belgium GP, two of the best riders in the world, head to head.
Justin in a slight lead right now, about 20 meters ahead.
It's a three-lap final.
Flo with a quick touchdown and recovery.
Justin on the slalom section, still making it look easy at high speed.
Justin Chait riding the flight board, race board, takes the win.
Flo taking second place with his awake board.
They've been doing a lot of work on that this week,
but could not hold back Justin Chait.
Yeah, I felt good on the slalom, felt good on the straights,
and I got a little slide out on one of the turns, but it felt great.
I want to thank the organizers, the club team, and the volunteers.
Everybody that's put all their time into making this happen.
