Using about 3,600 photographs taken from the International Space Station by Jessica Meir last August 22, we created this #timelapse.

This is a flyover of the #ISS from British Columbia to the coasts of Brazil.
In the first part of the sequence, the particular angle of the sun made waterways "sparkle," making them very easy to spot.
Even when the effect becomes less pronounced, it's still possible to make out the great rivers and basins of South America.

Technical note. The small spots you see scattered around the frame are nothing more than a bit of dust accumulated on the camera sensor or optics (some units have been in orbit for quite some time); do not mistake them, for example, for the shadow of the ISS, which is completely invisible from space.

The video covers a 30 minutes time span and is therefore sped up about 10 times compared to the actual speed of the Station.
