your forecast here heading into the weekend. What do we got? Well, we don't
have any storms out there and we didn't have a tropical storm to worry about
this week. So hey, some great things as we are finally into another weekend.
Hopefully you can relax, unwind, enjoy. We did have some storms that were
pretty strong. They'll pop up earlier today and they were kind of feisty. You
can see some of those storms that popped up over the Houston area and
then after those kind of fell apart close to sunset, we had more storms
fire up around Round Rock and Austin and those are pretty strong just an
hour ago. But over towards Brenham and Columbus, they fallen apart. You are
under that special weather statement through 9 39. Just a few showers, all
the lightning gone, no longer any threat for 40 MPH winds. However, over
the last 2-3 days, some of you have really wrecked up in the rain
department. 2-4 inches of rain showing up from Cloverleaf to San Jacinto,
Baytown, Bel Air, close to two inches, Sugar Land, around three inches of rain.
You've had multiple downpours and even over towards Liberty, especially today,
a lot of heavy rain from multiple strong storms. So we're not going to
erase that storm threat. Now that we're into the weekend, it sticks around. It's
not gonna be a washout. Don't cancel your plans. If you're gonna be out on
the lake on the boat, maybe at the beach, the pool, spotty storms could
still interrupt some of those plans during the afternoon. You also want to
watch out for bursts of heavy rain, frequent lightning with that activity.
And guess what? No signs of fall coming anytime soon. I think we've got to get
through at least a few more weeks of the temps, likely in the nineties, that
summer sizzle sticking around before we even think about seeing any signs of
change. So hang on, it will eventually get here. Just not this weekend and
likely not in the next week or two either. What we do have this weekend
though, outside of the steamy weather, we've got moisture sticking around. In
fact, that soupy, juicy air that's been stuck over the area all week will
still be there. So that means once we get into the afternoon and those temps
start to heat up to around 90 and hotter, we're gonna see those storms
pop up. They're gonna be hit or miss. You may not get a drop. You could get a
quick 2 to 3 inches. In fact, this stormy pattern really setting up from
Houston to Atlanta to florida all the way up to Richmond and D. C. So if
you're traveling to any of those spots, there's a chance for downpours and
maybe a little bit of flooding. Fox weather model for Houston showing by
four p.m. Tomorrow. Once again, those spidey storms in and around Houston,
likely right around I-10 places like Katie Houston, Baytown, maybe up
towards Jersey Village and down around Sugar Land quickly fading by sunset
tomorrow. But then they pop up again for sunday. I think by the time the
texans start their game on sunday at noon, not much rain around. So looking
pretty good for tailgating sunday morning. But by the time the game ends,
yes, there will be some heavy rain around and maybe a few strong storms.
So let's talk about your rain chances saturday, sunday, monday during the day,
40%. So it's not a super high chance, but just be ready for some
interruptions. Keep the umbrella close by just in case you need it. All right.
Tomorrow we jump to the middle to upper nineties across Houston and the rest
of Harris County. And of course we do have that chance for those storms. If
you're heading over to Austin for a huge game tomorrow, Ohio State, texas
6 30 p.m. There's a heat advisory feels like temps are going to be close to
108 close to triple digits 100 towards the start of that game. So
dangerous heat there. Thank goodness it's not gonna be that toasty for the
texans coming up on sunday 89 for that kickoff, a few showers around. But
overall weather looking great for a big win for the season opener, hopefully
with the texans. All right, next seven days we're looking good daily rain and
storm chances and typical september temp. So no sign of fall, at least not
yet.
