Richard show and welcome back out of the program 207 is our time on a Friday
afternoon so Governor Maura Healey has released new guidance and implementation
resources for state government agencies, health care providers, law enforcement
and employers following the passage of the PROTECT Act. Healey signed the
PROTECT Act on August 5th to establish state-level restrictions on civil
immigration enforcement tactics. The law limits civil arrests in non-public areas
of state property, healthcare facilities, courthouses, schools, child care programs
and nursing homes while restricting local law enforcement participation in
federal civil immigration actions. Under the guidelines issued by Healey and the
Executive Office for Administration and Finance, civil law enforcement activities
and civil arrests are prohibited in designated non-public areas of state
property unless authorized by a judicial warrant required by law or
necessary to address an immediate health or safety threat. State agencies must
review property portfolios to designate non-public spaces to
preserve public access to government services. Guidelines are intended to
protect residents accessing government functions and on and on it goes. None of
this stuff is even constitutional anyway and this federal law supersedes
anything that Maura Healey puts her signature on. But ICE Boston, which is the
lead office for ICE operations in our region, hauled a Jamaican illegal
immigrant off the streets of Springfield on Wednesday. A man charged with seven
counts of child rape. Seven counts of child rape and ICE that Maura Healey
doesn't want in Massachusetts, calls him a rogue agency and all this kind of stuff.
Picked up this guy Jermaine O'Neal Thompson faces two
pending counts of aggravated rape of a child. On top of that he's under a
separate arrest for five counts of rape of a child with force, assault with
intent to rape a child and intimidation of a witness. Federal officials picked
him up during targeted operations in Springfield according to Mass Daily News.
That's the unprofessional, untrained, rogue agency that Maura Healey rails
against for political purposes. Mass Daily News says his criminal history
includes pending charges for two counts of aggravated rape of a child and arrest
on five counts. Meanwhile ICE Boston had a busy August. They pulled six child
sex offenders, a convicted Cambodian gang leader that the Biden administration
released back onto the street in 2021, a New England sex trafficker, five
kidnappers and weapons offenders, three domestic abusers and two foreign
fugitives, 18 illegal immigrants with rap sheets so long that ICE needed a
spreadsheet to keep them off straight. Continuing with reporting from Mass Daily
News here, every arrest is sourced directly from ICE Boston's own posts on
X. These 18 arrests aren't ICE Boston's August total, not even close. They are
the individual cases the agency chose to publicize because the criminal histories
were egregious enough to make the case for enforcement in a state that has
spent this year trying to obstruct it. The full Boston office August removal
count across the six-state region and covering Massachusetts, Connecticut,
Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine runs into the hundreds. What follows is
the public rap sheet, the arrests bad enough for ICE to want the public to
know about. Under the title of child predators, 6 of August's 18 ICE Boston
arrests involved the illegal immigrants accused of convicted sex crimes, three
specifically against children. You've got Martin Carias Rees of Honduras arrested
in Boston, aggravated statutory rape, prior arrests, rape of a child and
indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. Then you got Fabiano Silvino dos
Santos of Brazil arrested on August 1st in Fall River, charged with assault and
battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under 14. Peking's Azuong of
Cameroon arrested in August following his release from Mass. Department of
Corrections custody, 12 adult arraignments on his record including
convictions for rape and solicitation to commit a crime. Moussa Sai of Senegal
arrested in Portland, Maine convicted of felony sexual assault. Steve J. Jokov
Mozi of Haiti arrested in August on the 21st in Burlington, Mass. Conviction for
battery, prior arrests for assault to rape. Osafa Aguiar da Costa from Brazil
arrested August 21 in Suffield, Connecticut convicted of sexual assault,
assault and risk of injury to a child. Then there's the gang killer that Biden
released that I mentioned. His name is Fai Yu from Cambodia. He was arrested on
August 18th, described by Ice Boston as a confirmed gang leader with a conviction
for murder and possession of a firearm. He had previously been in ice custody in
2021. The Biden administration released him. Four years later, Ice Boston went
back and got him. Then there's the sex trafficking case. Lai Zhang from China
arrested on August 4th in New Britain, Connecticut. Pending charges for
prostitution of a person 16 or older. The kidnapper, the weapons guy and the
riot. Five arrested in this bucket says Mass Daily News. Spanning felony assault,
drug trafficking, kidnapping and a failure to disperse at the scene of a
riot. Charge raises its own questions about what our subject was doing there.
Luis Carlos Teixeira or Teixeira da Costa of Portugal. Arrested August 5th
following his release from Rhode Island, Department of Corrections custody,
convictions for drug trafficking and assault and battery with a dangerous
weapon. Juggins Jewels from Haiti. Arrested August 8th in Framingham,
pending charges for assault with a dangerous weapon. Pierre Laforte Lubin
from Haiti. Arrested August 13th in Brockton, pending charges for felony
assault with a dangerous weapon and failure to disperse at the scene of a
riot. Jimmy Camara from Uganda. Arrested August 19th in North
Billerica. Conviction for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and
assault and battery causing serious bodily injury. Avishai Alon from Israel.
Arrested August 20th in Concord, New Hampshire. Convictions for kidnapping,
criminal threat against the person with a deadly weapon and drug possession. Three
August arrests featured convictions or pending charges for assault on family or
household members. In a region where domestic violence cases are already
among the hardest to prosecute, ICE removed three more offenders from their
from the equation this month. Let's see, we have Edras Gudeal Rivera from
Guatemala. Arrested on August 7th in Waltham. Drug possession, assault and
battery on a family or household member and unlicensed operation. Carlos D'Souza
Brazil. Arrested August 11th in Everett. Arrest for assault and battery with a
dangerous weapon. Dishonorly conduct and assault and battery on a family member
or a family abuse. Edzas Trenas from Latvia. Arrested August 22 in
Middleton, Mass. Pending charges for assault and battery on a household
member. Some foreign fugitives as well. Two August arrests involved illegal
immigrants who had already been through the U.S. immigration system once and
returned. One previously removed by ICE, the other a fugitive from prosecution in
his home country. And who have you got here? We've got Miguel Angel Bramal
Hermitano from Mexico. Arrested in Fall River. Previously removed from the
country. Rap sheet includes hit and run with property damage. Clayton Toledo
D'Souza from Brazil. Arrested August 27th in Norwood. A foreign fugitive from
Brazil. U.S. records indicate conviction for OUI and arrests for leaving the
scene of a collision. Then there's the six child sex offenders. A Cambodian gang
killer. Let me hold on here. I think this is just a recap of what I just read to
you. Yeah it is. So that's a recap. So hundreds of arrests throughout New
England by ICE Boston, which is the regional office. Hundreds of arrests.
Those are the 19 worst. They consider them to be the worst of the worst. Taken
off the streets in New England. Several in Massachusetts including Fall River by
what Moore Healy calls a rogue agency. And every elected Democrat wants to see
defunded and eliminated. Sounds to me like they're doing a pretty damn good
job and should be given raises. And then there's the case of Judge Shelley Joseph.
Remember Shelley Joseph? Her name may not ring a bell to you immediately. She was
the other judge in Massachusetts. Newton District Court judge who let in
illegal immigrant out the back door as opposed to having to go through the
lobby where ICE was waiting for him. Yeah remember that? That happened back in
2018. We talked about it here. Fox News. Some actually some of the some of the
local media too. Boston Herald has a piece on it. Fox News National has a
piece on it. The highest court in Massachusetts has publicly rebuked a
district court judge over her role in a case involving an illegal immigrant who
evaded arrest by ICE for Judge Shelley Joseph. The decision brings to a close
a legal saga that began on April 2 2018 when Jose Medina Perez left the Newton
District Court through a rear courthouse exit. All while an ICE officer was
waiting in the lobby to take him into custody. The Massachusetts Supreme
Judicial Court's ruling centered on a sidebar with Medina Perez's attorney and
the prosecutor during which Joseph instructed her clerk to shut off the
courtroom's recording system. The respondents statements during that
conversation including her proposal to detain Medina Perez overnight in state
custody and her conduct in instructing the clerk to turn off the courtroom
audio recording system created an appearance of impropriety and violation
of her duties according to the Thursday ruling from the Supreme Judicial Court.
So according to essentially boiling it down with the Supreme Judicial Court
says is this woman was new to the bench it's only on the bench five months had
no idea what the hell was going on. She didn't realize according to the court
that by letting this guy loose from having to stay overnight in jail was
going to mean he was going out the back door and avoiding an ICE encounter in
the hallway. She was unaware the SJC said that Joseph was unaware that Medina
Perez attorney David Jelinek devised the plan to help his client to
evade ICE by escorting him to the courthouse lockup where the court
officer would release him through a rear Sally Port exit. The court also found
that Joseph neither explicitly nor implicitly approved of that plan. The
woman is on the bench still currently in Boston. Medina by the way had a number of
charges he was before her on drug charges he had a rap sheet that took him
back to Pennsylvania drunk driving and all kinds of other stuff and you know
why releasing him was even under consideration in the first place is
beyond me but Judge Joseph is still adjudicating cases and she is in Boston
right now so good luck to the good folks in Boston right this is what you got on
the bench there. Boston Municipal Court Judge and on and on it goes. Quick break
we'll come right back stay tuned. Back to Barry Richard on WBSM call 508 996 0500

Bill Bayshan he'll be happy to see you tell him Barry sent you won't you do
that and he will be happy about that too all right so welcome back where are we
where are we this goes over here this goes over here so a couple of stories
that I make sure anything else I don't need to get in here yeah I got a stack
of things that I want to get in I don't always get chance to get them in but I
always try to take advantage of a moment or two and I got some free time here to
pass information on to you and anybody a fan of Brandon Gill a Republican
congressman from California from Texas you probably see him all over the
internet he's everywhere and he's really he's a real firebrand he's a sharp sharp
guy I think you will see Brandon Gill at some point in a higher position but
representative Brandon Gill generated a viral moment Wednesday during his speech
the first night of the Republican midterm convention and he opened up his
remarks with a land acknowledgment now I've talked about land acknowledgements
here before because I've seen I've heard them and never really knew what was
going on but then later it was explained to me and then now I'm aware of it when
I see them and hear them but you know I was at the Zyterian theater back in the
probably in the spring maybe they had the US Coast Guard band concert I think
it was Memorial Day I remember correctly actually and we took my mother-in-law
there for the afternoon and they opened up the show with a land acknowledgment
wasn't a Coast Guard band it was the folks at the Z which doesn't shock me
but this is the thing that the left-wingers are doing now okay and
they're coming out and they're saying stuff like on this land once sat the
Wampanoag Indian tribe and they were a proud tribe and they you know occupied
this whole area and blah blah blah blah blah blah the whole point of it is to
tell you that you are now sitting on stolen land that's the whole point of
it and they do this everywhere now that the Libs do it
everywhere so Representative Gill comes out open his remarks of the land
acknowledgment and said I'd like to acknowledge that we stand here today in
the great state of Texas and the United States of America it's the ancestral
homeland of great American patriots pioneers and explorers who put down
roots fight for freedom all over the globe and bled and died to build the
greatest civilization ever known to man crowd went nuts
told Fox News Digital afterward that it was his way of fighting back against
Democrats way of viewing the United States listen you see Democrats all the
time wanting to begin their conversations or their gatherings by
acknowledging making some bizarre land acknowledgment that we live on stolen
land and that they essentially want to apologize for our country Gil said I
think most Americans believe rightfully so that we live in the greatest country
that's ever existed and I'm not going to apologize for it certainly most
Americans don't want their elected officials apologizing for it either so
if you hear that at the opening of a concert or a lecture or a show or
anything you'll know what that's all about in case you haven't heard he had
really caught me by surprise when I heard it I wasn't quite sure what was
going on then I've heard them since and it's been explained to me what a land
acknowledgment you know the funny point about these limousine liberals is they
all want to make land acknowledgments but not one of them offers their property
back to the Indians that they displaced right I'm sitting here on you know on
this Indian land and everything else but I'm not giving back my house sorry
this my house is my property but just wanted you to know that once it was
Indian property if we didn't steal it we didn't steal it would be Indian
property but I ain't giving it back so don't even be asking 508 9 9 6 0 500
you're mixing WBSM thanks for hanging on Oh Barry I just I just love liberals
sadly I can't understand them at all what what is it about them that they
feel that I mean I like this goody two-shoes you know what I mean it's
just shut up something wrong somebody did something wrong somewhere yeah and
there you know it's like well we have to pay reparations for slavery oh wait a
second you mean for the black people here in the United States yeah well
they're the lucky ones because the ones that were kept behind in Africa died you
know at the hands of their Muslim slave masters if they couldn't sell you you
starve to death so the blacks here are the lucky ones Barry so reparations dear
God no they should thank God that there's the United States that saved
their lives well I'll tell you what you bring me one slave you know from from
the slavery days bring them to me bring me you know one Indian that that lost
his land or whatever and I will personally write a check to them but
none live hey I didn't take anybody's land and I didn't hold anybody as a
slave so sorry ain't got a nickel out of me I don't know they're just guilty two
quick points the judge I guess it's it's okay to be ignorant of the law is
that what the SJC was saying Barry essentially yes oh that's good cuz yeah
I'm gonna use that next time the cops stop me it's a lie I didn't know I
didn't know it's a law there's no excuse she made a decision based upon her
ignorance and as a result in a criminal illegal immigrant was let free on
society and ICE agents had to put their lives on the line and go out capture the
guy yeah exactly she didn't know that federal law supersedes state law even
though it's part of the oath of office that she swears to but hey what do I
know the second quick point we're talking about data centers yes I want
you to think of them now Barry as big libraries because when you quote save
stuff to the cloud it's going to a data center and all the new information that
is derived every day in the world from archaeology or chemistry or medicine or
astronomy whatever it is mathematics it gets put into a database and it has to
be saved somewhere Barry is there an information is is it's an it's infinite
I mean there's no end to it so we're gonna continue to have to I mean we're
gonna have more more data centers so we have gravestones I guess at some point
you won't be able to swing a cat without hitting a data center yeah Wow
hopefully though they'll be able to miniaturize much of the equipment so
that it won't take up space or put them in out of space so that they circle a
globe or put them on boats so they float in a river or some darn thing but that's
what's happening Barry is all the information that used to be in like
libraries and such is now going into databases and as the more we learned and
it's exponential we need places to keep this information amazing amazing times
we're living in just blowing on my socks off Barry it's amazing yes thanks I
appreciate it 508-996-0500 is the number and I just you know I just science is
just so amazing to me in technology and yeah I always you know we often talk
about in here about the data data centers the data centers or whatever I
never really understood what they were and yesterday I got a good explanation
as to what they are and you know just kind of blows my mind because I save
stuff off on the internet or I ask my AI you know hey you know what's I don't
know what did I ask today what's what what is the first day of fall and you
know just goes right to it and puts prints it right out for me or just puts
it on them on my phone or whatever and you know you don't even think that this
information is being stored somewhere right there's no live human being
sitting on the other side with a Funkin Wagnall looking it up and in you know
telling me it's it's stored information it's information stored somewhere and
somebody put it in there and so that's what's amazing about the whole thing
that's what these data centers are they store data on anything that you could
possibly ever want to know and anything you might ask for so that they're within
nanoseconds they can go they can go into the into the archive and find
things and pass it right on to you instantaneously that's pretty cool stuff
actually I mean it really is when you think about it I just like you know it's
like like I've often said I don't know the process of you flip the light switch
and light goes on it's it I don't need to know that the you know the thing is a
circuit breaker and it opens up a line of this that don't even bore me with it
I don't care I just want to flip the light and have it on same thing here I
want to ask my my phone give me directions to Albuquerque and in poof
there it is within seconds a whole map and everything telling me which roads
are congested which ones might be closed what's the fastest route and all this
guys I just I love that stuff but I don't need to understand how over I you
know hearing loss isn't waiting for old age anymore research from the CDC shows
that nearly one in five people in their 20s and 30s already have early noise
hearing damage and standing standard hearing tests don't always pick it up
earbuds headphones loud see everybody walking around with those buds in their
ears right a little white buds and you wonder what the hell are those white
things hanging out of their ears or their earbuds you're listening to music
or podcasts or whatever a lot of noise around you construction sirens all the
you know the stuff that people often complain especially young people I hear
but I don't always understand in restaurants or busy classrooms maybe
they jacked the TV or the phone louder maybe getting intermittent ringing or
buzzing after a loud outing so warning signs that you need to see the good
audiologist and I can recommend one I just happen to know one dr. Nancy Duncan
and Duncan hearing health care my good friend and my personal audiologist for
the last 16 years if you notice any of those signs above you want to get in
touch with Duncan hearing health care you can check out their website Duncan
hearing comm have offices all throughout the area whether you're 18 or 80 smart
listening habits and timely checkups protect the sounds that you love music

you do that quick break we're coming right back after this stay tuned this
portion of programming on WBSM brought to you by South Coast Health advance
medicine more care or why why take a chance why risk a mistake why say
something we all have reasons why we choose to ignore the things that give us
pause that seem out of place that don't feel right the word why can either
paralyze us or empower us to stand up and protect what we love so if you see
something why do you say something I see safe for my family I see safe for my
friends I see safe for my students we see safe for each other I see safe
because all of this matters we all have something worth protecting a why that
unifies this community we're all a part of so protect your everyday report
suspicious activity to local authorities if you see something say something the
best words to hear at the TSA security checkpoint you're good to go so check
before you jet avoid delays at TSA security checkpoints by making sure you
have an acceptable form of ID that means a real ID passport or other acceptable
forms of identification visit TSA gov slash ID to check the full list of
acceptable IDs avoid travel delays by checking ID requirements and you're good
to go back to Barry Richard on WBSM call 508-996-0500 and welcome back out
of the program it is 247 on a Friday afternoon so this September 11 20th
anniversary is a nice day turned out to be a pretty nice day got some rain
coming up on Sunday but tomorrow looks like it's gonna be okay probably the
bed well definitely the better day of the two and then I'm looking ahead
toward like late next week and everything and we're looking at a string
of sweater weather coming up temperatures are only gonna be in the
60s during the day and stuff so that's pretty cool if you like that and you
know I don't mind breaking out some of my sweatshirts have a collection of
hood hooded sweatshirts everywhere I've traveled I buy hooded sweatshirts
that's my souvenir some people buy shot glasses some people buy coffee mugs
some people buy you know whatever is their souvenir I always buy a hooded
sweatshirt from where I go and then what I wear it it's you know it's kind
of cool it's like almost like being there all over again but so why am I
even talking about this oh yeah the sweater weather next week so I just
prepare for that I'm gonna get a little bit cooler it's gonna continue to you
right so anyway we had reported to you back in July that legislation in
Washington that would have banned members of Congress and their families
from my trading individual stocks while in office it passed the house but we
never had a breakdown of who voted for it we were just simply told that every
Republican voted for it and every most Democrats voted against it including now
we're finding out that every single Massachusetts Democrat voted against it
the the actual vote was 232 to 198 so some Democrats voted for it it was the
stop inside a Trading Act HR 7008 and it passed and again it would it would ban
members of Congress and their families from trading individual stocks while in
office they should have called it the Nancy Pelosi law but they were kind so
again every Republican voted yes we finally got the actually was a mass
daily news that had the finally got the boat tally I'm not the tally but in
identification of who voted which way on it and a breakdown good word right
breakdown of the boat and every Massachusetts Democrat voted against it
including Jim McGovern Laurie Trey and Jake Auchincloss Richard Neal Katherine
Clark Seth Moulton a Anna Presley Stephen Lynch and Bill Keating your own
congressman why would Bill Keating who's up for re-election in 53 days here why
would he vote against legislation that bans members of Congress and their
families from trading individual stocks while in office why would he vote
against that you can ask yourself these questions when you're going to vote this
year right the Nancy Pelosi law we all will sit and wonder and we all talk
about gee how do these guys get so rich when they're in office well you know got
these itty bitty teeny tiny salaries and yet they all become millionaires the
bill would have banned members of Congress their spouses and their
dependent children from buying or selling individual stocks bonds
commodities futures and options while in office mutual funds and US Treasury
securities would have been allowed members already in office would have
been forced to divest place their holdings in a qualified blind trust or
unload their portfolios before taking the oath Pelosi's net worth has ballooned
during her decades in Congress in significant part because of widely
reported well-timed stock trades that were executed under her family's name
she made a lot of money off the market so why would the entire Massachusetts
congressional delegation all Democrats why would they vote no on that isn't that
good government you know there used to be a thing called ethics where you would
you would vote for something like that just because you didn't want the
perception of any wrongdoing not anymore this was a Republican backed bill in
fact it was it was called for by President Trump if you remember that's
enough of a reason why the Democrats in Massachusetts would vote against it
besides the fact that they must be making money on it right can you think
of any other reason why because I sure as hell can't got a release from the
city New Bedford today um city New Bedford greater New Bedford refuge
management district partnering with black earth compost to launch a new
curbside food scrap collection incentive program for New Bedford residents the
program provides residents with another convenient option to reduce household
trash by having food scraps collected directly from their homes and transformed
into nutrient-rich compost try to preserve the capacity of the landfill so
free starter kits to try to encourage participants the city and the refuge
district will provide free starter kits to the first 100 New Bedford residents
who enroll we used to do this we talked about it on this program not that long
ago we used to do this in New Bedford I think all around the era we talked about
it remember you had the the swill pail in the ground I know in New Bedford
they were in the ground guy came in stepped on a pedal and pulled the the
swill barrel out of the ground I think back in those days it was sold to pig
farms and stuff like that so just think about you're gonna have a garbage can
out front of your house now and or along the side of your house or in your
backyard and your food scraps gonna push go scrape your plate oh the lineup kids
all the kids go out in the yard and scrape their plate into this swill
bucket now I don't want to be fun 508 996 0500 new reasons why you got to
clean your plates you don't have stinky smelly swill pails in your yard break
we're coming right back and welcome back that's gonna do it for us today and on
this September 11th 25th anniversary I feel like we're you know on a concert
tour September 11th 25th anniversary special and hmm kind of weird but you
know it's a sad sad it shouldn't be a real sad day because I mean it is 25
years but it should be a day of learning and educating ourselves about certain
things in the world and and in our country and being introspective and
stuff like that but in any event I can't think of a better place to be than right
here with you guys to think about it
