So you're a little scared, a little tired, and what do you need? You need a little crack with a K.
You might be thinking, this is excessive, and to that I say, bring it up with my mother.
Hey, we're Winona Fighter, and we are on the Adobe Radio Summer School.
This is her for $30,000, with 40,000 miles on her.
Thank you, Al, at Auto Town in Brentwood, New Hampshire.
Like I said, she is a retired hotel shuttle.
So on top of the van, it actually still says Playa Del Largo on it.
So that's just like a fun little treat I like to have.
No one can see it, unless you're looking down on it.
Right.
I think we were in like a hotel.
Yeah, we happened to have it parked right outside our window.
I think we were like, what does it say?
What the **** is that?
We had no idea until we were like halfway through door last year.
But we didn't know.
This is it.
So we definitely take shifts.
Chloe is the morning driver, for the most part.
Dan likes the middle shift, and I like the closing shift.
And that's what we usually do.
It actually works out great.
So everybody gets what they want.
And all the speakers in the van are actually completely blown.
So they sound awful.
But we do play music, and it's driver's choice, obviously.
You know, I'll usually put on whatever Spotify's Happy Mix,
which for me is like probably Interpol or something.
Yeah, yeah.
Dan likes the 80s metal.
Yeah, and I feel like I can tell when whoever's sitting shotgun is like,
I'm so sick of this when I just see a couple of earbuds going.
Like, cool, all right.
And Dan's got a good like break in case of emergency playlist.
If we're doing like a late night drive,
because it is only the three of us that drive the van.
So the emergency playlist will have like some train,
a little bit of Uncle Cracker, Matchbox 20, Nickelback.
Anything we can like sing and scream along to to keep us like awake.
Because there are roads out there, highways out there,
that have no lights at all.
And so you're like, what is this?
So you're a little scared, a little tired.
And what do you need?
You need a little crack with a K to bring it back.
And then I'll usually listen to like a podcast when I'm driving.
Usually something crime related or One Life, One Chance with Toby Morris
is a good one because it's very inspiring.
And on the days when the drives are feeling long
and the tour is feeling long,
it's good to like listen to those things and be like,
kind of puts you in a good mindset.
Totally.
So about the van, the check engine light likes to come on and off a lot.
Yeah, it's currently on.
Yeah.
It was off for a long time, now it's back on.
This has happened a couple times this tour.
I think we've decided that pulling the trailer might do it,
like might make it go off.
I think it's the extreme heat though.
Yeah, yeah.
It's been so ******* hot this tour.
I mean, we've hit a lot of cities where it's like 100 degrees now.
Well, yeah, Phoenix was 117 or something.
I think it was like 100 in Detroit the other day.
It was so hot in Detroit.
We, and we'll show you this later,
if we don't drink like our rider from the green room,
we will bring it in the van with us.
And I came out and we had a bottle of red wine.
The like top had started to come off of it because it was so hot.
Yeah, I mean, we'll still probably drink it at some point.
I usually sit co-captain unless something has gone horribly wrong,
like I'm sick or I'm sleepy.
But yeah, most of my stuff hangs out of here.
So this is my blanket that I like to have
and I'll even, even if it's scorching hot out,
I like to have my blanket on.
Yeah, it always amazes me.
Our AC is currently a little bit fritzy
and I'll look over and I'm sweating like absolutely.
Oh yeah, the AC doesn't work at all.
And then I'll look over and Chloe is sound asleep with a full blanket over her.
I'm like, how is this woman doing?
Just built different.
And then this is my, this is my driving cab.
Yeah, they call me big dick whenever I get behind the wheel.
Dan will announce it to the whole van.
This is a Stephen King book that I got maybe like three tours ago.
It's been sitting here for, I don't know how long.
It looks like it's a thousand years old.
I think that that book was purchased in 1902.
And I made a little dent in it, but I just like to keep it here.
Just in case.
And we keep like, I keep stocked.
So sanitizing wise, we usually have tissues in here,
like a little extra fork if you need it.
Oh my gosh, look at these.
These are some pictures of us from our headlining tour last year.
Wow.
Let's see what else.
Oh, my Swiss army knife, you guys.
Oh yeah.
I forgot about this.
There's some Advil, some Listerine.
Wow.
I keep it well stocked.
And then these are like little nasal sticks.
They're to like open up your passageways,
but they're also kind of like little poppers.
So like if you get tired, you can just give it a whiff.
That'd be good.
We also have a baseball bat, you know, just in case we get jumped or anything.
And usually we like to put a sock over it.
So if they try to grab the bat from your hand, then the sock comes off.
Don't give away the...
And then you can smack them.
All the criminals that are going to watch this, don't give it away.
The criminals are not allowed.
So anyways, one in the front, one in the back.
Okay, so now we are at the middle of the van, the meat and potatoes of the van.
And like I said, our speakers are blown.
This was, I don't know, this came off at some point.
Almost immediately.
We do have an ice and snow scraper for those winter tours that we need.
And the windshield wipers don't work.
They actually work.
We got them changed though.
We had the windshield, remember?
This windshield got a big crack in it, so we got it swapped out.
They changed everything else too, so that's nice.
Yeah, so whoever's driving, if it's me or Dan,
we usually swap out with this and we just lay down because that's the best.
Absolutely beautiful.
As you can see here, we've got our, the finest pillow in all the land.
This is something we took from the Minnesota Yacht Club that we played last year.
Yeah.
And this has rocked me to sleep many, many times on the highways of America.
Got the worst damn pillows in town.
The worst pillow in town.
This is my denim jacket that I don't know why I brought on this hot, hot summer tour.
This is what I can only assume is my t-shirt.
How'd you open it up and see?
That would be Austin's t-shirt, there you are.
Is it?
No, this is yours.
Oh, that's mine?
How did that get in?
I don't know.
This is a good story if you want to tell a story about this t-shirt.
Yeah, so No Cure was playing a venue in Nashville and got stabbed,
and so they took control of the stab wound and sold these t-shirts,
and I think that is the coolest thing ever.
We used to play the Cobra, and it really brought me back when that happened.
I mean, I felt bad that they got stabbed.
And this is to raise money for...
I think so, like for their medical stuff.
All right, here you go.
Thanks.
All right, here we go.
Emergency preparedness bag.
Let's see what we got.
If you think it's gonna be amazing, it is.
Let's see what we got in it.
Oh, we have a blanket, an emergency blanket.
Perfect, perfect.
This is all courtesy of my mother.
Mothers, what are you gonna do?
This is a flashlight.
Perfect.
Boom.
Thank God it's working.
That would have been embarrassing.
I had to...
Angie would have been pissed.
Oh, we have two flashlights.
Okay, but let's get to the good stuff.
Yeah.
This is emergency rations
in case the van goes flying off the overpass into the forest and we get lost.
Yeah, yeah.
In case we're stranded for multiple nights.
Let's see.
We've got some lighters.
Great.
Some more rations.
We've got 100 deadly survival kits.
We all know all those already, so yeah.
Yeah, this is for anybody else.
That's just to sharpen.
This is a straw that you can drink out of random bodies of water with.
Very helpful.
Hand warmers.
Huge.
What is this?
Oh, first aid kit.
I think there's another first aid kit under that.
And then let's go to the last pocket.
And you might be thinking, this is excessive.
And to that I say, bring it up with my mother.
Yeah, it's good to, you know, just good to be prepared.
Okay, we've got like a little...
Oh, a little power bank that plugs into the van.
Amazing.
This is a solar paneled power bank.
We've got a fire starter.
Nice.
We've got, you guessed it, yet another power bank.
And we've got...
More rations.
Hungry group.
More power bank.
Hungry group we are.
Well, I mean, if this thing goes to ----, Austin's going to be for the rations.
Yeah, that's true.
Days.
When the grid goes down.
And then just some more...
My Tony Nester.
Oh, a tent.
Wow, you guys.
This is great.
Your mom's going to watch this being like, how did they not know this is...
They didn't open this at all.
Yeah, they didn't open this.
Immediately?
They should have been training.
Yeah.
We've been running our drills.
I do.
So this is on tour.
On tour, I call it our emergency bag.
Off tour, I call it my go bag.
Just in case they ever find out what happened.
Just kidding.
She was like, why don't you guys just like pack the stealth angel backpack?
Yeah.
And I was like, no, I think we're okay.
She's like, well, you can't.
It can't hurt.
This is our...
If you thought they're not quite safe enough with all that other stuff,
we've got even more safety guarantees.
Roadside prepared.
What is this called?
Which this is, I would say, I think every van should have one of these in their vehicle.
Maybe just every car.
Every car.
Yeah.
Open, open her up.
Let's check it out.
Let's see what the lights await us.
Oh, yeah.
That's a tire filler.
Huge, huge move.
I think there's, there might be two tire fillers.
Two tire fillers.
There are, there's one that's just mint in the box, perhaps.
I mean, that's good stuff.
That's all you need.
Got the jumper cables.
We got what we have here.
What is that?
I have, I have no idea what that does.
Maybe, maybe just some like, uh, I don't know.
Oh, this is one of those that you break the glass.
Oh, you know, we should actually probably just take that out and put that up front.
Those are probably like pylons for like to put in front of the van.
That's probably true.
Yeah.
Some electrical tape, you know, another first aid kit.
I will say, I think the beauty about this being a retired airport hotel shuttle
is it does come with the emergency exit window.
Oh, yeah, there you go.
Good stuff.
That's good stuff, people.
This is our first tour where we, um, well, I guess not.
We brought the, we had two college interns that we brought on tour this last year, but
not intern.
This is our first tour.
We brought like a merch photographer content person with us.
So this is L'Oreal's bench and she, this is her bench always.
And she'll either be working on stuff back here or sleeping or watching the World Cup
because she's a big Argentina fan.
Um, and then one row back, the extra long row,
perfect for our drummer on this tour, Ross, because he's extra tall.
He's taller than Dan.
And Dan's usually the tallest person on the tour.
And then we keep all of our like rider snacks back here.
Usually we have like more, we have, we get bear bells, protein bars and perfect bars
on our rider.
Because we've got rice cakes galore.
Rice cakes and red wine.
And almond butter.
Yeah.
And then good stuff.
They'll get stuff.
Yeah.
A little bit of Japanese.
Oh, that started to pop.
I feel like maybe we should put a bottle of wine in the, in the break of a case of emergency
bags as well.
I think so too.
Um, but yeah, usually all of our like green room rider stuff, more almond butter, the
leftovers will go in here.
Usually we try to steal a case of water from the venue as well.
We go, we stay in hotels.
Um, East Day and Inn Express.
If you've been able to stay at a Holiday Inn Express and it is bliss.
Dan likes the, I've got the cinnamon rolls in the morning.
Just show pillows.
On the pillows, it'll say soft or firm and you can pick what kind of pillow you want.
We used to stay in Holiday Inn Express all the time.
They raised the prices on us.
That's, so we're trying to get that.
We're trying to get that sponsorship.
Wait, watch out, watch out, watch out.
It's a little precarious this morning.
Now we'll, here, what?
Clay suitcases.
Another prime sponsorship opportunity here.
This was unplanned, however.
And it's missing one.
There is, there's one I bring to the green room as well.
Yeah.
Actually, I got a broom.
You know those broom holders that you can like kind of stick a broom into?
I got one from Target for this.
You did?
I just haven't put it up yet, so.
So next time, it's gonna be right here.
Okay, we gotta take these bags off though.
Because I've got something I want.
Are you guys ready for this?
It's gonna be like the Pulp Fiction.
Indiana Jones, yeah.
Stunning.
Stunning indeed.
Man, that's a good looking.
I know, what do we got?
Some reds, some whites, a lot of tequila.
When we did our first like major tour with Bayside,
we didn't really know like how the rider thing works.
So we thought you got, you get one rider and you can't change it at all.
So we had tequila, handled tequila on our one rider that we thought we got.
And we didn't have to buy tequila for two years after that tour.
And so this tour, we only put tequila on one night a week.
And yet, here we are in the same precarious situation.
Oh no.
Too much tequila.
We have been, some people call us we're not a ******* fighter too.
And you can find us on all social media.
You can find us on the Adobe Radio Summer School tour.
You can find us at Warped Tour this year.
You can listen to our new single Bombs Away.
And you can follow along for more stuff coming very, very soon.
