1962 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible For Sale Vanguard Motor Sales #1622

Welcome back to Vanguard Motor Sales. I'm Greg and this is a 1962 Bonneville. This baby's the same age as me. I'm a 62 model also. She's completely restored and she's absolutely gorgeous. 389 under the hood, hooked up to a turbo automatic or I should say hydromatic. That's a four-speed automatic transmission. The chrome on it is absolutely gorgeous. I have no idea what the chrome bill must have been on this thing when they restored it, but everything is bright, shiny, and looking gorgeous. I really, really love the color of the car also. One of my new favorite colors. We've had several cars that were in the same neighborhood as this and everybody's loving on this color, man. She is gorgeous. You can see all that chrome looking good. Man, she's a pretty car and you just don't see cars like this very often. I mean you see Chevelles, you see Mustangs, you see GTOs. Not many cars like this and the top goes down. You can see these spears going down the side all polished up looking good. The eight lug wheels with the wide whites. I mean this thing is ready to go out to the car show and win some awards. She is absolutely gorgeous. You can see the doors lining up nice with the quarter. The door handle looks good. The door jamb looks beautiful and then check out the interior. Man, this thing is beautiful. Gorgeous interior. It's got the tri-colored interior in it. You can see the chrome up here looking good. Even the chrome on the ashtray here is looking good. She's pretty. It looks like the interior lights are working there. That door panel is just gorgeous. The seat belts are there. I really like that steering wheel too. Skinny steering wheel. You got a bunch of chrome on the dash also and over on the passenger side you got the holy ---- handle there on the dash. That's for mom to grab a hold of when you put the hammer down. Just as slick as can be. Got beautiful chrome back here. It says Bonneville across the whole back. Always take a look in the trunk whenever you're looking at a muscle car. Look at that gigantic trunk, man. Absolutely beautiful. Clean as a whistle. I tell you what, you could get about $10,000 worth of groceries in this trunk or if you're a carpentry contractor you get just about all your tools in here. I mean, there's pickup trucks that don't have beds as big as this trunk. I mean, it is huge. They did a nice job on the restoration too. Everything's painted up, cleaned up, looking good. Rubber's been replaced. All the bright work's looking good. Now when you look down the side of the car, beautiful going down the side of the car. Look how nice and straight that is. Can you imagine how many hours they spent blocking this thing out? I mean, that quarter panel, I mean, this is six feet right here, so that quarter panel's about 10 feet long, guys. Now, I know you can't wait for me to fire this baby up, but you're going to have to wait because we're going to go out in the shop here and see what's going on there. Now, we're right here in the Motor City, so we've got great facilities for working on old cars. You know, this is where they were all born. Now, we've got 25 lifts in here, 15 full-time mechanics checking stuff out, and then about two miles from here is our main show room where there's over 150 cars there. So, we own all of our inventory here at Vanguard. We don't do any consignment whatsoever, and a lot of people ask us, where do we find all these awesome cars? Well, we're hopping on airplanes, getting in cars, driving thousands of miles, getting on our hands and knees with flashlights, checking out the bottoms of cars. We're checking them out top, bottom, inside, and out. We're really picky about every car that we buy, the paint, the chrome, the underside, the suspension, the motor, the interior. Now, once we get them back here, the mechanics fully inspect every one of the cars before we park your dream in your driveway. Let's take this baby for a ride. Tell you what, talk about cruising down the road. She is a beauty. Power steering feels good. Power brakes feel good. Now, the top is electric on this thing, and the switch is right here. You can see we got a two-pack of gauges right there also. We got the cigarette lighter here. That's old school. We did have the blower on. Horn is honking. Windshield wiper controls right here. Looks like the speedo's working. Now, we did have the radio on. It is an AM radio. It was kind of hard to find a station, and it was a little bit staticky, but we did have the radio on. I love the way the mufflers on this thing sound. It kind of sounds pretty tough. 1962 model. Like I said earlier, same model as me, 1962. She is a beauty. I mean, we're looking even better. Super cool car right here. What's really cool about it is you just don't see these things very often at all. So we're going to go back to the shop where we're going to put this thing up in the air so you can see the bottom side, and we'll pop the hood and see what's going on under there also. We're underneath the Bonneville now, and as you can see, everything is just clean as a whistle. Brand new exhaust. The floorboards have been painted black, and they are gorgeous. Our gas tank is looking good. Now, the rear diff, I just rolled this baby over. 256 gear, and it is an open rear end, so she'll be great on the highway. Looks like the shocks were replaced at one time. It's got drum brakes out back. I mean, everything just clean as can be under here and solid as a rock. I mean, being a convertible, more than likely this thing probably stayed in somebody's garage its entire life. Like I said earlier, it's the same age as me, so she's got some years on her. Actually, she looks a little better than I do when I look in the mirror. We got the hydromatic transmission. That's a four-speed automatic. Everything nice and clean and tidy under here. Front suspension looks good. Of course, the guys will check out all the steering gear and everything. We do have drum brakes up front also. I see the ball joints are bolted now, so they were replaced at one time some years ago probably. They don't look brand new, but they've definitely been replaced since they were new. Everything under here just clean as can be. Backside of the bumper is nice and clean, so you know it's been re-chromed. She's a pretty machine. And then we got the wheels and tires. We got wide whites, baby. Looking gorgeous. And then the eight lug wheels. Let's see. 225 75 14s. I love those eight lug wheels, man. So cool. Up in the wheel well, it's all nice and clean in there. And then as you look down the side of the car, she is just as slick as can be. You can tell the car was very, very well kept since it was brand new. Probably pretty much what I'd call a cosmetic restoration, because all this looks like original steel to me. Just repainted. The pinch weld is beautiful. I still see spot welds down here. Frame's been cleaned up and painted. It looks all original. I mean, this thing is gorgeous. Out back, right there's the size. Same size, same good looking eight lug wheel, and same good looking tire. And these tires are brand new. They came from Coker, I believe. We're going to lower it down and look under the hood. She is just as neat, tidy, and clean under the hood. Looking good. 389 power. Looking beautiful. It does have power brakes on it. Firewall's all nicely painted. Power steering pump looks like it's brand new. Gorgeous car here. It's got an Edelbrock four barrel on it. Generator looks like a new unit, too. Radiator looks like a new unit. And her wheelhouses are all painted nice. The heater hoses have got GM markings on them. That air cleaner's also painted up, looking beautiful. I tell you what, they did it all. Even the fiberglass on the bottom side of the hood's been redone. And then the rest of the hood's painted chassis black, looking brand new. I mean, like I said, she's a beautiful machine, guys. And don't forget, the top goes down.
