They transition their plants from a new open balcony to a public rooftop to ensure they receive maximum sunlight and rainwater, aiming to revive etiolated plants and expand their collection with larger specimens.
Hello everyone and welcome to our YouTube channel. So we have finally moved to our newest apartment
and we are currently here in our balcony area. So what's the difference of this apartment versus
the old apartment is that this one, this apartment has actually an open balcony area unlike in our
previous apartment. We usually have a partition between the living room and the balcony area but
in this case we actually don't have any partition which gives us this wide space and of course
our window is actually bigger as compared to our old apartment and I'm pretty sure our
succulents will enjoy this spot. So some of our succulents are in this ledge right here and
our current location has a sunny spot. So this is actually the sunniest spot in our balcony area and
just a few days of moving our succulents here I already noticed some great changes. Specifically
we've got here our agavoides. This used to be light green when I moved it here but after a
couple of days it actually turned reddish in color as well. So how much more if we will already put
it in our rooftop. It's actually so dusty all of our succulents are covered in dust right now and
I really hope it would really rain in the next couple of days so that they can finally receive
their very first rain water. So all of our succulents are right here temporarily. I will
be moving them one by one to the open rooftop and I'm really sure all of these succulents will
eventually grow bigger and healthier. We also have here some of our succulents as you might
have noticed most of them especially these teutobans our lovely rose they are actually
etiolated. They are leggy because they didn't receive enough sunlight in our previous apartment.
Some of them are actually not even growing any single leaf anymore. We've got here our
echeveria raindrops. This used to be very big in size as big as this when we first bought it but
as of now they only have like this kind of sizes and I think I will be moving all of this later.
All of them I will be moving them to our rooftop and once we have moved all of this at our rooftop
we will now start collecting and buying succulents. So my plan right now is not to buy
token size succulents like this but my plan now is to buy bigger succulents like for example this
one our orbiculata. I will be buying succulents that are as big as this succulents so that in
the future if we will be moving our succulents we really don't need to move a lot of pots but
we will just be moving bigger pots like this. So let's see. I will try to save some of our
succulents. I'm not really sure if they can still really thrive. I'm not sure if they will
get bigger and healthier once we move them to our rooftop but still
I just really want to give them a try. Our echeveria beyonce. This is the only leaf left.
Look at that. It's still okay but I'm not really sure if we can really still achieve that
kind of beautiful and colorful rosette. So anyway join me as I move these succulents
to the open rooftop above our apartment. So a couple of days ago I ordered a plant rack and
it has finally arrived. So this will be the very first plant rack that we will be using
for our succulents and it's 100 centimeters long and it has four layers. So let's see if
this would be enough or we still need to buy another set of plant racks. So this is the
rooftop. This is the staircase leading to the rooftop and I literally live just below this
rooftop. So this is how it looks like. It's an open rooftop. It's a public rooftop and
you know some people actually come and visit here once in a while but most of the time I'm just
alone. They don't really care about their rooftop but in my case it's really an advantage for me.
This is the view right here and this is how a typical Chinese apartment looks like. So these
are the communities around me and we've got the sunset area. That's going to be the view of our
sunset just in case we wanted to watch it. And this is how it looks like. There are some things
and right here I have noticed some gardens like a pocket garden but I think they had no time to
take good care of their plants and they just simply withered. So because of this I just
realized that we can actually do gardening here on the rooftop. So let's just try to check which
would be the perfect location for our succulents and there are actually a lot of choices. I'm also
considering this one right here. This is literally above my bedroom and we also have another one here
but this is quite far already and we even have another one here at this corner but as I've
mentioned this already the end part of the apartment and I live on the opposite side.
So bringing our succulents from there going to this area would be a bit time consuming and
I think it won't really be a good idea. Although this side is actually cleaner as compared to the
other side. Let me show you the view here. That's how my apartment looks like as well. So this is
my community. There are four buildings apartment buildings in my community and it's a very quiet one
and I just simply love the view up here. It's so relaxing, it's so windy and I'm really sure our
succulents would love that. Let me zoom in for you just to give you a quick view of
my current location. So this is China by the way and so it's a cloudy day and I think I have found
my perfect spot. I will be using this area right here for my succulents. I will be setting up my
very first plant rack in that area and in any case I changed my mind. I can easily move our succulent
plant rack to a different location anytime. So it took me about 30 minutes to set up everything
and this is how our plant rack looks like. It comes in different colors. We have black,
white and this color. So for me, I think this color would be perfect and if you're wondering
about the price, it's actually about 14 dollars or that's 900 pesos. I think it's good enough. It has
four layers. The material is good enough as well. It's durable. I really hope it would really last
for a long time but this is going to be our plant rack and next time we will be buying more plant
racks after we finish setting up everything. So these are the succulents. I literally brought them
from the 19th floor up here to the 20th floor and right now we are ready to set it all up to our
plant rack and by the way, I wasn't able to record but I actually moved our succulent plant rack to
the opposite side. I think this is better in case it gets windy at least. There are some walls that
would protect our succulent plant rack because I don't want them to fall just in case it's going
to be very windy in my city. So these are the very first batch of succulents that I have moved.
I will be buying more succulents after or immediately after I set up everything. We will be
visiting a succulent plant shop and I am so excited about that. So join me as I move all of these
We are finally done and I'm so satisfied with my plant rack. I think I will be buying more
of this plant rack. It's an open space as you know so when it rains our succulents will also
be receiving rainwater for the very first time and I'm so excited about that. Let's see
how will the rainwater make them look healthier and bigger. So this is my current setup. As of now
I don't have a lot of succulents but definitely I will be buying more in the next couple of days
to come. So that's all for today. Thank you guys for watching. Don't forget to like and subscribe
