I REALLY Didn't Want To Touch This Hairspring! Vintage Omega Jumbo Chronograph Watch Restoration

In this restoration, HB takes on an impressive Omega Ref 2381-1 Jumbo Chronograph, powered by the Omega Cal 320. A beautiful and highly regarded vintage chronograph movement.
This particular watch has an interesting history too, having previously appeared at Bonhams auction house.
But once the movement is on the bench, things don't go quite as smoothly as planned…
The Breguet hairspring proves to be one of the biggest challenges of the entire restoration. It's incredibly delicate, and getting it working correctly requires patience, precision and a very steady hand.
In this video you'll see the complete restoration process, including the disassembly, inspection, lubrication, reassembly and regulation of this vintage Omega chronograph.
I'll also take a close look at the Omega Cal 320 movement, the condition of the components, the delicate hairspring and the challenges involved in servicing a vintage mechanical chronograph.
If you enjoy vintage watch restoration, Omega watches, mechanical chronographs, watchmaking, watch repair, antique watches and vintage movements then you're in the right place.
