USC Trojans discuss competition within the team

How do you feel this in general? First week, first impression for the offense? Honestly, good. When you get to play football, man, you can't really complain. No matter what the conditions are, we get out to lace them up the same way as they do and just go out there and play ball. You guys had four true freshman practice games. What did they kind of show you all kind of playing in their first games? They showed us since day one they've been here. I mean, they came into this offense, developed very well, and we entrusted in them. And they showed all of y'all today that they can do it. What about Trent in particular, over 100 yards for a guy? That kid moves differently. I mean, he's special. I mean, I love to see him play. I love his work ethic. I mean, he deserves everything he's doing on that field. How helpful was the extra weight for you today? Just, I mean, in those short games, I mean, especially fourth and short, third and short, being able to get those first downs, especially key, especially in this, playing in the big center, I mean, you got to get those short whenever it's needed. So, I mean, I think it helped today, especially. Let's talk a little bit of the two back sets. What's it like when you're in there with Waymo at the same time? I know you guys are usually cheering each other on when one of the others is in there, but when you're in there together, what's kind of the mindset then? We in there, we just, we compete. I mean, honestly, we always competing with each other whenever it's he getting the ball or whatever it is, or if we just both just, we honestly just going out there to compete. Whether he's getting the ball, if I'm getting the ball, we're just trying to make the best for this team and go out there and get wins at the end of the day.
