Welcome to glamping. So today we're doing something very fun and exciting. This has
been on my wish list this year and that is to go camping here glamping or luxury camping
in my little kids trailer which I basically turned into a cargo hauler and and what's inside of here
basically everything you would take with you on car camping heavy stuff big tents sleeping bags
is basically all inside here. It is all packed inside here and we are going to have a fun time.
I have lots of goodies. First thing we need to do is get the mosquito spray going because
it is a little crazy out here. So let me quickly unpack here and show you what I brought on my
little luxury glamping. I have cooler with dinner which is going to be burgers and breakfast which
is going to be pancakes. This is actually my late grandma's sleeping bag. It's probably from like
the 80s or 90s but it is the most comfortable thing ever and this is obviously car camping
so we brought that. Got some food water my little camping kit some clothes and a dry bag
my camp chair. I was going to bring the bigger camp chair but I got a picnic table here and I
just didn't want to overkill it and this is comfy. I have my normal sleeping pad sleeping bag and I
have this two-person tent. This is too heavy and almost too big for bike camping. It comes with
that and the poles. This thing is probably around six or seven pounds. Tarp and the most luxury
thing you can bring a blackstone grill. We're grilling today. Honestly this is what I'm most
excited about is grill, make burgers, pancakes. This thing alone is probably close to 15 pounds
and it all goes inside this little car carrier. I actually bought this from
my neighbor down the street at a garage sale. 20 bucks. What I basically did was gut it out all
like the harnesses and the seats put this carpet pad down here to give it the floor a bit of a
more rigidity and yeah it runs great. Once you get it hooked up it's not that bad once you
are used to pulling a load but I averaged maybe about 10 miles an hour.
Absolutely zero hills otherwise I would not be doing this. This is also a very old tent.
I found it at a thrift store. I think it's actually from early 2000s maybe 90s but it's
not supposed to rain tonight. I have this beautiful canopy so we'll just skip the
the rain fly. Check this out. This is old school camping right here. Look at this beautiful
four season easily maybe arctic rated heavy like five pound sleeping bag that you throw on the back
of your vehicle or go camping in your camping trailer with but yeah we're set up. This looks
amazing. I'll have the rangers stop by and drop off some firewood. They do have like a locker here
where you can get firewood but it is infested with wasps. So I called and let them know you
know they got a bit of a wasp problem and they were nice enough to drop off two cords of wood.
Let's get some fire starting stuff and we'll get it going. There's a lot of dry stuff out here
so setting up a fire is pretty trivial. I did bring a saw but not gonna need it.
That's plenty of wood. If I want to have a fire in the morning I can get it back going. Well now
that I'm all set up I am getting hungry and it is time to cook some burgers on the Blackstone.
So let's get everything set up and going. I'm gonna have some potato skins and my step two is this
coke. Just like at home just a little messy. Grilled is cleaned and oiled. Dinner was amazing.
I want to give you a little tour of the campsite. So this is the Cannonball Prairie Metro Park.
They have three campsites and this used to be a farm field which they've completely converted
into prairie. So it has this really nice walking path. There's these three campsites down this way.
So I am at campsite three. Here is what campsite two looks like. Here we are at campsite one
and this actually is wow this one here is actually the smallest site and this is my site
campsite three and the one thing that really stands out is you can see this really nice open
this is very sandy and flat. Yeah this is the best site hands down and this is really the
only site I go to anyway but site three is the GOAT. Well it is definitely late summer because
it's getting dark sooner and sooner and there's this beautiful moon out. Other than that I'm
gonna set up a time lapse out here get some sleep and we'll see you in the morning. Well good morning
I slept wonderful last night got to watch a partial lunar eclipse did a bit of a time lapse
on it hopefully it turns out and I'm gonna make coffee pancakes pack up and have the fire starting
back up we're ready to roll it's a beautiful morning sun's coming out and I'm hungry let's get going
this is actually my first time cooking breakfast and pancakes on this thing
um they look amazing they look really good I am definitely ready for breakfast
because these look amazing
this is better than restaurant quality and I'm in the middle of the woods
glamping does have its advantages and eating like a king is one you can carry the weight
this is a reward big stacked burgers for dinner and big fluffy pancakes for breakfast
this my friends is my version of glamping well that is going to wrap it up all packed up ready
to go fires out so thank you for joining me on my little trailer camp glamping
adventure I hope you enjoyed we'll see you in the next one
