Decades-old willow toppled by Windsor storm seeds new memories for local family

A beloved 70-year-old willow tree, known as the \"mother tree,\" was uprooted by a tornado at Coventry Park in Windsor. Planted in 1953 by Albert and Jeanette Compo, the tree served as a generational landmark and a symbol of the family matriarch. While the original tree is gone, a younger willow planted from its branches in 2020 survived the storm.
