Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe 2026 Subaru Trail Seeker is a mid-size all-electric SUV based on the Solterra but featuring a larger body, increased cargo capacity, and a more powerful powertrain. While it offers a slight reduction in range, it provides significantly better acceleration and towing capabilities, positioning it as a more versatile and performance-oriented electric option for adventurers.
Meet the 2026 Subaru Trail Seeker and here's what you need to know about this new mid-size
all-electric SUV. Now if you think the Trail Seeker looks a lot like the Subaru Solterra
you would be very correct and that's because the Trail Seeker is essentially the same
though there are a few noteworthy changes and the biggest is right here because this vehicle
is about six inches longer than the Solterra and roughly one inch taller. You can also see that
the roofline is much more conventional much more SUV like than the Solterra's which dips down
rather steeply at the back and of course the rear of this SUV is much more squared off. These tweaks
do get you a good bit more cargo space here in the Trail Seeker expect a max of 31.3 cubic feet
behind the second row seat and up to 74 cubes when you fold the 60-40 split backrest down
though in models that are fitted with the panoramic glass roof like we have in this
top shelf touring trim those numbers do go down very slightly. Another big update that was made
to the Trail Seeker is the powertrain. Now this vehicle does have the same 74.7 kilowatt hour
lithium-ion battery pack that is used in the Solterra however the Trail Seeker's two electric
motors which of course provide standard all-wheel drive they produce a lot more horsepower you get
375 ponies in this SUV which is a big upgrade over the max of 338 that the Solterra provides
and supposedly that makes this the quickest production Subaru ever sold in the U.S. and it
should scamper from zero to 60 in just 4.4 seconds according to the manufacturer. Now of course the
trade-off there's a little bit less all-electric range in the Trail Seeker it tops out at 281 miles
or 274 for higher-end trims like this touring variant right here. Finally the Trail Seeker has
a tiny bit more ground clearance and it can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The Solterra does not appear
to have any rated towing capacity at least that I was able to find so if you're ready for adventure
so is the Trail Seeker. Aside from all of that this SUV's interior is attractive it has plenty
of standard and available technology plus the front and rear seats are both very comfortable
and honestly about the only things I really don't care for are the unattractive instruments the lack
of interior storage space and some occasional road noise on certain surfaces. And there you go a few
highlights of the 2026 Subaru Trail Seeker. As for pricing this vehicle starts a little bit less
than $42,000 including delivery though this one checks out for nearly $49,000. But what do you
think of this new all-electric midsize SUV? Would you ever consider buying one? Well let us know in
the comments and thanks for watching.
