The juxtaposition. There it is. It's my favorite like smart guy word that I like to use. I knew it was coming.
It was coming. There are times. That's not true. There are times when you can focus on the negative.
It feels like something like Adele. We could have had it all. Literally. Dang, just you looking yearningly.
Just me sitting there looking at the rain. Spiderman. Spiderman.
He'll be like, you know what? Tomorrow's a brand new day. I'm going to bed. And tomorrow is a new day.
I do do that a lot. All the time. And sometimes I do it too early in the day. Yeah, you're like I'm going to bed.
Everyone came over to my house and we would watch movies and we'd have a pool party.
It's a miracle we got any work done on that movie.
Zendaya, you said one of the best things about Tom being Spiderman is the way he carries this role and the responsibility outside of the movie.
Is there a specific moment that you can both think of where you could really see the impact it has on a child to meet you as their Spiderman?
We've had countless experiences with young kids. It really means a lot to kids, especially when they don't know that it's not real.
That is when it's really special. But then you have to be quite quick-witted to come up with excuses as to why you can't jump a hundred foot in the air.
I've visited kids before and they've asked me to show them the webs and you're like, oh, I ran out of webs.
And I really love that. It actually becomes quite a fun exercise.
But seeing how it affects kids and how excited they get is one of the best parts about playing this character.
This one you can answer about each other. What quality of the other is most and least like their character?
Most like their character is I think your optimism. I think you are a very positive person.
Thank you. And you do always bring that positive energy wherever you go.
And you're always like, we can do this. Like, no matter how you're feeling, we're going to get through it. We're going to get it done. It's going to be great.
And you quite literally like if you're having a bad day, he'll be like, you know what? Tomorrow's a brand new day. Go to bed. And tomorrow is a new day.
I do do that a lot. All the time. And sometimes I do it too early in the day. Yeah, you're like, I'm going to bed.
I think something that is really opposite. I'll take opposite. You did bang on.
You're not a pessimist in any way, shape or form. I don't know. That's true.
There are times when you can focus on the negative. But most of the time, you're a really positive, optimistic person.
And MJ can be. I feel like I'm more positive and optimistic for others.
Yes. Yeah. More pessimistic towards myself. Sometimes you get a little self-love will go a long way.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So I agree. Yeah.
If your memory was wiped just like MJ's or a bit more, if most of your happy memories were gone and you could experience them all again,
what is something you would look forward to experiencing it again for the first time?
I look back on that first. What's the word I'm looking for? Comic Con experience really fondly.
Yeah. That whole trip, like that Spider-Man cast. We went to San Diego.
We were in this big room where there were all these different tables set up and we were kind of sat in our movie tables.
So there was the Spider-Man table. There was the Ant-Man table, the Guardians of the Galaxy table.
And there's like everyone's having these like big grown up dinners.
And then there's this one table that's just a bunch of kids. And we snuck into this party and we ended up going to that some club or something.
And we stood on stage and we showed a little snippet of the movie and it was really well received.
And I just really remember that time being a really special moment.
Yeah. I would definitely relive the like they had to do like fake school together.
Oh man, I would love to go back and do that again.
That was jokes. Yeah. We had a good time. That was a fun summer just in general.
It was a great summer. It was a great summer.
We're all living in Atlanta. We're all kind of just at that age where we were kind of becoming adults.
Remember the picnic? We had a picnic. Yeah. It was fun.
Everyone came over to my house and we would watch movies and we'd have a pool party.
It's a miracle we got any work done on that movie to be honest.
You have mastered the American accent but I heard on a podcast that you had some difficulties with the word Spiderman.
Yes. Still to this day. I still find if I don't think about it I want to say Spiderman.
Like I don't know why that feels more comfortable to me. Spiderman.
But I have to really focus and say Spiderman.
And almost the way I get around it is just imagine I'm saying it in fast forward. Spiderman.
Spiderman. Just get it out. Don't think about it too much. Just throw it out there.
The moment I relax it becomes Spiderman.
There's so many talented people who have worked on this movie with you and I was wondering
is there someone on set you would want to give a shout out to because they're doing a great job
but maybe the fans don't know them yet because they're not in the spotlight.
I want to shout out Charlie Wood and his whole team.
Our art department. One of the best if not the best I've ever worked with.
My brother was also part of the art department so I want to shout out Paddy.
But yeah Charlie Wood and his team created New York in London
and I have friends from New York who have seen the movie
and do not believe that we didn't spend a single day in the city.
Yeah. That's pretty impressive.
It was amazing.
And very quick last question.
I've seen some amazing TikTok edits already.
If you had to pick a song for an edit for this storyline or this movie which one would it be?
I feel like that's your department.
Dang.
I'm so musically challenged.
A song or an edit? A song to do an edit to?
Dang.
That's hard.
How crazy would be like a Sabrina Carpenter house tour Spiderman
in this report and it would be nuts.
I like that that's what you went for.
I like the juxtaposition of it all.
It's only taken seven interviews for that word to come out.
That's my favorite smart guy word that I like to use.
I knew it was coming.
Oh man.
That's a tough question.
Because I'm trying to think of like brand new day.
Like a lovely day.
You know like what are we I'm trying to you know this is more optimistic.
Okay.
But I'm trying to think of like with the play on the words of it all.
Well with the drama of it.
It feels like something like Adele would be.
We could have had it all.
Literally.
Dang.
Just you looking yearningly.
Just me sitting there looking at the rain.
Yeah. That also works.
Just sitting far to the rain.
That could be a good one.
I take that one.
I'm really thinking now.
You're enjoying it too.
I can see that you're enjoying it as well.
I'm imagining.
You can tell me on the red carpet later.
