Hey guys, welcome back to OmniChannel, the place where we share hope and beliefs with others.
Guys, you can see this is the street of Freetown. People are engaged in their normal daily activities.
And you can see they have different items, such as vegetables, peppers, onions, and so on.
And if you observe the area, the premises are so peaceful. People are engaged in their normal activities.
Although there are economic constraints, you see many people selling various items.
And you can see here, this man is focused on selling electronic items.
And we come out again to see people engaged in selling clothes, shoes, and some of them are riding bicycles to earn income.
That's what the town looks like, the style it has, right?
And people are busy carrying out their normal activities to earn a living.
Yes, you can see how they are surviving, they are living.
You can see the market vendors and some of the items below.
They focus on making profits, even though the economy is unstable.
But they manage to cook and make life better for others.
You can see this is the market area.
And you can see people are busy attending to their normal affairs.
You can see they are burning coal, and this is coal used to make fire, you can see.
And some of them sell clothes; you can see the clothes, right?
And there are different sizes of clothes.
And you can see the street; this is the cloth they are back in selling.
Hello everyone and welcome.
I'm actually near Kinsila Street.
In this area, the community and people are facing challenges with water.
And over there, you can see people getting water.
Today is Friday, the tap is usually open.
Sometimes the tap won't open for two days, three days, weeks.
The tap is extremely challenging.
And they are very happy today because the tap is open.
People are filling their containers, aren't they?
You can see the water is pure and pleasant.
But this community does not need a water supply.
Alright, guys, let's take a look around Kinsila Street.
So we're going down there, you see.
You can observe, you see the tap is running gradually and smoothly.
People are receiving this purified water every month, sometimes it takes a month.
This tap is usually shut down.
But thanks to this, people are happy.
People are obtaining sources of water.
This is tap water, not well water.
So guys, we are so happy.
This is a large stream.
So we are going down to see or discover how people are trying to fetch water.
And if you take a look, the tap is really, really weak.
If you watch closely, people are fetching their water.
You can see the other person going into the water, right?
And this is known as a beautiful state, a beautiful environment where people live.
And indeed, they are facing challenges in water supply.
This is known as Kinsila Street.
So if you look closely, there's a little child coming to get water as well.
You can see how extremely anxious they are to get water, right?
If you take a close look, the tap water really needs maintenance.
It really needs maintenance.
You can see the tap and the water is still there.
Wow!
So guys, I'm so happy.
Talking about the situation in Salem, the water quality is extremely poor.
People are facing difficulties in the Mambo area, Wellington, PZ, and Sumo.
There are many areas in Salem that are experiencing challenges with water supply.
So many towns in Salem need a tap.
Some areas need a well.
So, guys, you can help by reaching out to this community.
Currently, I am near Kinsila Street, one of the four communities in Salem.
Thank you very much, everyone.
Hello everyone, I'm back on Kinsila Street once again.
In the Kinsila area, there are thousands of people living.
They are experiencing water supply issues.
If you take a look, here is the tap connected.
You can see many pipes.
Let's move closer so we can see the pipes gradually.
So, let me talk about this pipe.
This pipe is connected to the tap where people usually get water.
As you can see, water usually flows down gradually.
They are facing challenges with the water supply.
Some of these pipes don't usually carry water.
Sometimes it takes them months or weeks to supply water.
It's a major challenge, and we need to find a solution.
Let's take a look around the area.
You can see the community and its people are suffering.
This is Kinsila Street.
You can see there is only one tap.
You can see the water running down because today is Friday.
Every Friday, water usually comes in.
Sometimes, they find it very difficult to obtain water.
Guys, thank you very much for your support.
Let us provide the best solution for those people.
Let's go to the tap.
When we talk about the tap, you can see this is the well.
This is a well from which people usually draw water.
It's really deep.
It's about six miles from the ground.
You can see these are empty containers.
People are fetching water.
Although it's a challenging journey, water is life.
Everyone needs water.
They usually travel far and wide to fetch water.
This is what the well looks like.
It's very deep.
Can you imagine drawing water from this well every day?
It can cause health problems.
It can cause pain in the human body.
It's really bad.
These are some of the challenges people face when fetching water.
Pain, fatigue—you can see it.
Sometimes, you cannot walk because of having to fetch water.
Sometimes, people complain that they are feeling pain.
After drawing water from this well, you can see how deep it is.
It is extremely important to understand the constraints faced by the Samaritans and people around the world.
They are facing the same challenges in fetching water.
Water is life.
We all know that water is life.
When there is no access to water, it is a disaster.
At least among the cyclists, there are many challenges.
You can see this guy fetching water.
Sometimes, when we come from a great distance, we get tired.
We need to set down the tank and rest for a minute.
You can see that empty containers are being sold for a small amount of money.
People sell containers.
The amount of the container is 30,000 Naira.
It's very expensive.
People are fetching water.
There are many challenges.
People obtain water from the gutter, which can result in contaminated water.
You can see these are two brothers fetching water from Kinsela Street.
They are going home.
It's a long distance.
Life in Sierra Leone is extremely challenging.
You can see this guy.
We are still on Kinsela Street.
This guy is fetching water.
Guys, this is a water supply issue.
Today is Friday.
Kinsela Street is experiencing a water outage today.
You can see the water is running.
Sometimes, people have trouble accessing water.
According to this young man, he said that he usually walks a mile to fetch water.
He said that his community does not have a water facility.
That's why he walks a mile to fetch water in Kinsela Street, which is far away from his local premises.
In fact, he attempted to appeal to the government for a water supply provision.
He also said that he is so happy today because it has taken a long time.
They have not yet been able to access water, which is truly painful.
You can see now he is already getting water into his container.
He was so excited to see that today he would have enough water at home.
This is good news because the issue of water is truly stressful.
Every last Friday of the month, water usually rises in certain areas.
As for my area, we usually have to go far away to fetch water.
Especially during morning hours on Mondays.
We don't have the facility for taps.
We use wells to access water.
Hey, let's watch the video.
Please share the video.
Comment.
Ask a question.
Thank you very much.
Yes, indeed.
People should have access to pure water and clean water.
Although access is limited, pure water can lead to various problems.
Like talking about different diseases.
Diseases will affect people in Sierra Leone and outside Sierra Leone
if they cannot access clean, pure water.
We all know that water is life, right?
And we consume water every day.
When we talk about water, we should not make light of water-related issues.
Yes, because water is life.
So guys, really, it's heartbreaking, right?
To see this challenge affecting people around the world in different communities.
Especially my own community having issues with water.
Guys, yes.
Really, people need to have access to water.
And it should be pure water.
And as you can see on Kinshola Street,
The water is really nice today, isn't it?
And many of them living in this community have access to water today.
Because every last Friday of the month, right?
Water usually flows upward, doesn't it?
You can see.
And guys, it's really frustrating, isn't it?
It's truly frustrating to see communities facing challenges with water.
Hey, do you know there are communities out there struggling to get clean water?
Not only Kinshola Street, not only in the community,
But in the provincial areas, there are many communities facing challenges in accessing clean water, right?
That's really, really, really bad.
So guys, we need to raise awareness worldwide about water issues.
That's really, really not nice.
So, guys, we need to come together to figure out how we can help address water issues, right?
Guys, I love you all.
Make sure you share the video.
Yes, sometimes when citizens could not afford clean and pure water,
It leads to a deadly eye disease.
That could lead to death, right?
And because of the water's purity, right?
People are dying, right?
Some of them drink contaminated water because they cannot afford access to clean water.
Especially in the provincial area.
When we talk about the provincial area, they are facing that challenge.
The majority of people in India could not afford pure water.
They prefer going to the stream.
And sometimes the stream could be infected with various viruses.
When we talk about fertilizer, fertilizer is not available in our country.
to help minimize germs in the water.
Guys, really, these are the challenges.
Many people, especially young and old children, young and old people.
are facing difficulties with water.
Sometimes the elderly walk a mile, which is really harmful.
60 years old, 70 years old, 80 years old and above, walking down the street in search of water.
And sometimes when you find water, the water may not be pure.
Which is truly, truly a major obstacle.
Yes, it is truly a major obstacle.
And we should be able to stand up and change the story.
Guys, we should be able to provide opportunities for communities.
Like my communities that are facing challenges with water supply.
Guys, do you believe everyone deserves clean water?
If you think so, share your own opinion on it.
Because I believe that people and communities need clean water.
If that is indeed the case, let us raise awareness together.
So if you believe that everyone deserves clean water, drop a comment.
And let us discuss what the solutions are, what things we should put in place.
so that water issues will be things of the past.
Especially in Sierra Leone and around the world.
Yes, we can make a change.
We can bring about change by drawing the attention of people around the world to water issues.
Yes, there are many communities like Mambo facing water shortages.
My community, Dugan Street Common Market, is facing water issues once again.
That's really, really, really not nice.
So, guys, are you ready to be part of the solution?
Guys, please let's stand up and change this activity.
Let's just stand up and change this motive, guys.
So, guys, we all know that in life there must be a fate, right?
Although we are finding it hard to fetch water.
Some countries, some advanced countries, have taps in their homes.
They don't struggle for water.
But our country, Sierra Leone, everyone should go there to find pure water.
That's a major, major issue.
Yes, we have the available resources.
We have rivers in Vamal, right?
We have some rivers that supply water.
But let's talk about the Guma Valley of Sierra Leone.
Guma Valley in Sierra Leone is not really active, is it?
They are active, but they are private.
People can't afford to pay the bills, can they?
Which is really, really stressful.
And it's a barrier, right?
To access water when there isn't enough resources, right?
Maybe if you want to go and fetch water like me,
When I want to go and draw water from the well,
I spend all the money I have in my hand so that I can pay for the water.
Nothing comes from nothing in life.
Which is really, really sound terrible, right?
Guys, this is what life in Sierra Leone looks like.
