Small vs. Large Moody Fall Centerpieces! 🍂 Easy DIY Autumn Floral Tutorial (2026)

Why will it not do it? That's so annoying Hi friends and welcome back to Dave and Christopher's. We're so glad that you're here with us today, aren't we? We're tickled pink we Have been doing swags and wreaths the last few weeks and thought you know what it's time to do something a little bit different So we're gonna give you Coordinating things so kind of it goes with our we've been in this moody fall Color combination for a little while with door pieces today We're gonna do centerpieces, but sticking with kind of our same moody colors Yeah, so we were thinking this one could go on I mean it depends on your space But I think of a lot of different places at home that I could put something this size Even beside like my entertainment center or on our dining room table And then you've got the smaller size that would be great for a coffee table or a four-year table Just you know you all know what you have at home, and what you're needing and so we'll save you all that and just jump right in So to get started with our centerpieces today, we're gonna be gluing some styrofoam into our containers Because we need something to hold all of our stems in place, and I have very loosely filled This one so that I can add some things and We're really just gonna fill those in before we get started We're gonna start by adding our Brown green smell like spray if you've seen any of our videos in the last few months You've known I love this in the green color and the brown green color this really helps to look very realistic anything It's got just a little bit of that Movement to it. It's got you know I want it to have wire throughout the branch But then just at the tips if it's got a little less wire it allows it to move so When I put these in Reese or I put them in some kind of door piece at something outside It really gets just a little bit of wind and looks very realistic We're gonna use this and our centerpiece as well, and these are gonna sell out probably by the beginning of September So if you're interested in these For the fall I would go ahead and purchase them now But this is gonna hang over our container really well, so you can depending on the size of the table Escape that you're planning this for you can really adjust this so if you want it to hang out Further because you've got a bigger table. Maybe you've got like a 72 inch round table You might want it to hang out a little bit further if you've got something a little bit You know smaller. I would bend that in a little bit more, but you know just let it hang out over will be really easy to Make it Look very natural Because we're going with that you know bringing the outdoors and kind of style the What do they call that? the biophilistic something along those lines Something like that I'm gonna call it making it look like your inside has some nature to it like you brought the outdoors in Yeah without the allergens Hopefully that's that would be Preferable without the stuffy nose. That's what I love so much about artificial flowers is I can be highly allergic to real flowers No, no, no Well, you can be but you are highly allergic To a lot of flowers can be you are Extraordinarily allergic to most things. I am i'm i'm a weird bird when it comes to allergies. I'm a strange person that seems to be allergic to Everything I come in contact with and I even have to limit how much I deal with the artificial flowers sometimes it just depends on what kind they are and Sometimes even I guess it has to do with the dye that's in yeah Jen's very sensitive to dyes. And so the textiles are what yeah so but sometimes i'm okay, uh, especially if I just am doing it in my long sleeves then It's not such a big deal, but i'm less allergic to the artificial for sure than the Yeah, and it makes me sad because I think real flowers are so beautiful and I would love to be a person that could have fresh flowers on my table every week or pick those up at the grocery store kind of person and stick them in a vase, but The head starts hurting the eyes start watering and itching my nose starts itching inside My ears starts itching my head starts my scalp starts itching. It's just a whole thing Yeah, if you're normally allergic If if most people are allergic to it Jen may not be allergic to it Like artificial You know vanilla or something like that. Jen's not allergic to that but real vanilla. Yes I have an allergy to real vanilla. Isn't that crazy bizarre? It's like everybody else in the world's like artificial vanilla not like anaphylactic shock allergy though Yeah, so okay. Looks like you've got those all nestled in to the right place Nicely nestled. Yes We're going to be using our hillside berry spray in this orange color these have great Very natural kind of leaves behind some of the berries I really like to add a little bit of this green in so we're going to cut these up into some smaller pieces So that we don't have to use the entire branch probably going to try and do a Planter at some point that we will need some of this height, so Don't be afraid to buy things with height. You can always cut them down, but it's a lot harder to add to it Than you would want it to be so if you feel like you know, oh, it's it's kind of tall You know, we've got a lot of new pieces that are really really well priced this year so Uh, even with them being taller Branches, I would not be afraid to buy some and cut them up Yeah, just because I think the pricing accommodates for many ways of how you would want to use something and speaking of pricing and shipping Please note that because our products are so Large usually they're not they don't weigh a lot, but sometimes they can take up a lot of space in boxes So shipping for us is always a big struggle because we aren't just shipping The same size box with a different pair of shoes in it every day or these little plastic envelopes with a shirt or a dress in it that's like, you know seven dollars or When we charge shipping on our website, that is only a fraction of what we are actually paying So we lose money on shipping with almost every single order that goes out the door Generally, but we're trying to give you affordable prices and Split some of that shipping cost with you. So we do rarely we unfortunately are not amazon we You know, we negotiate with fedex and ups and those people but we don't have our own trucks that are out running And we don't have quite the pull that some of these larger companies do Right, um and fedex and ups and those people have gone up a lot in the last and very recent Days, uh partially because of fuel prices And it's one of the things too that sometimes people will order something and they will pay I don't know fifteen dollars in shipping and then they decide you know what? I don't uh, you know I'm gonna go a different direction. I'm gonna ship this back and it might cost them 40 or 50 dollars to ship it back Yeah, so and it's like what but I only paid 15 to get it here It's like yeah, we probably paid 40 or 50 and we negotiated those rates down Yeah to that price and we're still you know charging nine dollars and spending 15 to ship it or whatever Yeah, so just just know that we are trying to be as fair as possible on The shipping and kind of sharing that burden with you, but we also want to keep our prices affordable Some companies just build that in and make it The price more and say free shipping, but they charge you five more dollars per stem or something We are going to be adding these velvet pumpkins. They're kind of like stuffed with You know pillow fabric kind of like a plushie And we're going to use these give us some of that moody color. We're going a lot of bronzes We're going with a lot of like burnt orange colors and we are going to be adding this teal in and we're going to use a wire from one of the stems that we've previously stuck in And we're going to stick it through the velvet on the bottom of this pumpkin and then Bend it like a hook And what stem did you use? Uh, one of them One of them that one. Yeah Remember if you've been watching us, you know, david likes to reuse his stems for sticks I keep my my little pieces of trash as treasures There you go One man's trash another man's treasure I guess mine's all treasure all yours is treasure uh, i'm gonna zoom in so that you can get a We'll do another one another one If you can step we've got a very thin wire. That's got like a Little more plastic on one end And we're going to just stick that through And then up at the other end we're going to bend a hook around that So that's going to glue in really nicely Oh, you tricked me. You put you're putting two in the same pot I put a medium size. So we have larger ones And we have multiple colors and these velvet pumpkins are actually on sale right now So if you are looking for some a great time to buy them But I am using a medium size a small one in the larger container I will use a small one for the small container Because the big one's quite large So how many of the medium velvet pumpkins you're just going to use the one in the large one? Yeah, and how many hillside berry sprays did you use? I used two in the large one One in the small container and then how many small pumpkins are you using in the large container one? Okay, you know And you're using just one in this small Just one So I have these beautiful burnt orange full bloom hydrangeas Those are going to look great in these arrangements and We're going to be using one for the smaller Arrangement and because I cut some of the Head off without foliage. I'm just going to add that in anyway because you know We can always use a little more foliage just to You know these two leaves Could just leave them off but we paid for them. So let's go ahead and use them anyway. Yeah for sure And then the other one because i've got a little more space on my larger container I may not have to cut these leaves off at all because i've got more room between my end of my container and the hydrangea plant itself So we're going to tuck one a little lower And one a little bit higher i've got one Leaf left But we're going to use it anyway Remember you're going to get in trouble for throwing your wire cutters down on that table Oh Maybe I should move it over here. Yeah, there you go. See I got you that little thing I'll probably put them over there. I don't I don't really pay attention You need your whole counter nick needs to just be flush or whatever you want to call it sound proof We're going to start adding a little bit of our burgundy shades in here And I know it's going to start looking a little different And I know we've got a little red tint on some of our orange, but we're going to blend it all together as we keep going So don't worry about that. So what are these called? This is a vintage garden rose I think is what we're calling vintage garden rose. So it's really like a dark red shade and then they actually take a small Like propane tank with a flamethrower thing on it and they burn the edges These edges of this fabric are actually burned to give them that almost dried style um That's really fun to watch They have to be careful not to do it too much because you get the whole thing black but you just get a little bit of this like Crinkly texture around the edges that's actually been on fire You didn't tell everyone what you got for your birthday I got a little flamethrower for my birthday, which was a lot of fun I'm just a little kid fire maniac at heart, I guess I couldn't decide what to get you and I thought He likes fire Do like fire it is way more fun to light a fire with that thing than to just go out you know with your lighter and you try to get Little sticks or you try to throw some lighter fluid on something this you get like a little gun you turn the nozzle up and you hit the button and it's just And you just Stand there next to a log and it catches on fire He's like a little kid with that thing So how many of the vintage garden rose? Bundles are you using in the large? We're going to use two for the large one And let me guess one in the small one one in the small one. Yes How did you ever how did I ever guess? I'm so smart And I love this burgundy color I think that would be a good a good title. You've been talking about moody moody colors This is our moody fall centerpieces So we'll get a little bit of height on some of this and then we'll use some of it a little lower Trying to not get my Foliage in the glue pan here. We don't want to do that We're going to attempt not to anyway and for anybody that missed last week, we did make an announcement that We are going to be doing our christmas pop-up shop virtually this year instead of in a storefront So just making sure everybody's up to date on that We talked about it last time. So I won't go into great detail this time. You can go back and check out that video, but We're going to start reinforcing some of that burnt orange color with our orange gypsophilia branch This thing is super tall would be great for an outdoor planter, like I said, maybe one day soon we'll get to that But right now we're going to cut this apart Into some slightly smaller pieces, but if you've got vases you've got something large that you made this would be an awesome option for that But it's going to allow us to get a little bit of height But not Something that's going to necessarily block a view so if you want a little bit of height, but you don't want That to interfere with Anything you can get this nice light airy feel from this gypsophilia branch And it's got wire in it so we can kind of curve that in different directions So we're going to cut some of this up into a few different places But just going to give us a nice Branchy airy feel Gypsophilia, that's a fun word Probably somebody's name somewhere gypsophilia. Yeah It sounds like someone that likes to be a gypsy They have gypsophilia That's fine Do they make a prescription for that probably they make a prescription for everything else it'll be a new ad on tv soon The gypsophilia stopping what would they call that stopping what stopping your gypsophilia tendencies You know, there's like there's all these commercials with all these No, listen what we need to be talking about right now is the fact that There are people in the world right now or in the united states right now with explosive diarrhea Because of this let well they thought it was They thought it was from lettuce Taylor farms recalled a bunch of lettuce. Well, then I recently saw that they've traced it Back, it's not taylor farms is lettuce. So I guess as of this moment in time Because they recalled a bunch of lettuce over. I know Feel bad for them. Can you imagine being that business and having all of your being acute being? Yeah Being accused like see it wasn't our fault. Anyway, right being accused of it and poor taco bell of all places I mean Let's be honest. It's not over the odds. You were gonna get some kind of intestinal problem from taco bell But we love it don't we do like we love the taco bell, but you are sometimes it's worth the chance you are playing roulette Uh burrito roulette burrito roulette That's your current events update from today is I thought you know, we import things But i'm glad we don't import food or we don't have that burden Someone's saying oh gosh, I quit the camera someone saying I got sick off your flowers like that shouldn't happen You're not eating them. You're using them wrong. Yeah If you get intestinal issues off the flowers not meant for ingestion. I will say some of the berries look real enough to eat That we have had in the past. Yes But we don't advise it No, in fact, we encourage you not to encourage you not to eat the flowers you have been warned But I hope if anybody out there has experienced this I am so sorry for you because I have heard horrible things about it people ended up in the emergency room. So it's not funny but at the same time it's like Who planned to have that on their bingo card for 2026? And Let's just hope that it's The outbreak is contained soon The origins are found out and they can stop because like I was feeling better about eating my lettuce after I was like Oh, it's just the taco bell lettuce, you know But now we're back to square one. I'm not knowing I saw I saw a meme that said Oh great the day that chocolate is better for you than lettuce. I've been preparing my whole life for this Um, so eat your dark chocolate and Pray over your food. That's all I can say ask the lord to be with you because Nobody wants any of that We're gonna start Adding a little bit more teal with our vintage sunflowers in this teal shade It's not exactly the same shade as our pumpkin. It's a little bit lighter It's actually like it's almost dried into that shade Which I kind of like because if you you know been around me much you realize that I don't like necessarily exact tones of things. I like color tones of flowers so that you get You know, we're gonna get that deeper shade from the pumpkin and we're gonna get the slightly lighter shade from our sunflower The sunflower also favors the Um other greenery there, what was it the Is it coming from the What is that right there coming from? Is that the? Oh Oh, that's uh from the vintage rose brick, yeah that color it's kind of a dried look. Yeah, it's similar in color, yeah so we use some of the Deeper burgundy shades and some of the orange to kind of break up our teal Uh, because we don't want the teal to become over dominant in this arrangement Yeah, I think you do have to be a little careful with these sunflowers You don't want to well, you don't want to overdo it You don't want to add too many of them We're supposed to be encouraging sales. We want it to look good though We do It's got to be quality over anything else, you know And if you're not a fan of the teal if you're strictly going with the tradition more traditional colors of fall Then we have other colors of sunflowers as well. We used some last week. We have the plum color Yeah, the plum color. That's really pretty You could use that as well works really well with that Pretty and I don't know that we have any up here. But do we have yeah this rusty colored one? I think it's called rust actually. Is it called rust? No, it's called tan. Oh, it's called tan. It looks kind of rusty I like that it goes really well with the uh, burnt orange hydrangeas So we got lots of options there's also an ivory an ivory, okay Yeah, so you do have options When you're putting this together for your space on what? What works best? We actually have a color a little bit similar to this in our kitchen. So I think it could work for our dining room table Orange and our living room I really like the teal color So we're gonna add some of this blooming ranunculus spray Um, i'm sure you've seen this in the last couple of weeks because i've used it I really am a big fan of that item and it's got some great characteristics One it's got multiple shades mixed into one piece. So I like that I can get lots of different coloration out of one stem but it's also got good weight to it, which means that I can Stick them in and kind of let them hang over a little bit and they give that really nice bounce at the ends You're just using one in the small one. I am And how many of the gypsophilia branches did you use in each I used two in the large one and one on the small one Is this blooming ranunculus the last thing you're adding? I don't know What does that mean Don't know I haven't added it yet. So I couldn't tell you if uh, it's all I need to be finished. It's gonna be finished or not I think the little one for sure is got it's gonna have enough things in it Once you get that added it's gonna I mean I know that the bigger one you can always add a little bit more extra stuff because it's larger but the little one's looking pretty full and Content content content looking content I guess it depends on how you're feeling though if you feel content with it or not I feel content with it. Okay So you're probably just going to use one of the ranunculus Branches and the big one as well, right? probably And you're just cutting these apart You didn't really show us where you're cutting them I did not Are you keeping secrets? Yep, gotta gotta save something Magician can never reveal all This is very airy and wispy It is So i'm gonna add a little bit of this seeded thyme spray just in case I missed any spots So if you get to this point And you feel like you've got Any part like i'm not super big fan of where my pumpkin sticks out over the container so i'll probably Break that up a little bit with just a little of the seeded thyme We called it the salt in the last video The salt like you're adding a little salt Oh salt sprinkling a little salt sprinkling a little seeded thyme seeded thyme I'm gonna give y'all a little bit of a close-up view of No, you probably can't just break up some of those little spots here and there And then here's our you're gonna put some in the little guy too I am Two in the large one one in the small one That's the ratio at the moment Yeah, we'll have to be done soon because i'm running out of room on my paper Those are the stipulations. Mm-hmm.
