What if I told you that chameleons don't change color just to hide?
That's one of the biggest wildlife myths ever. Chameleons are famous for changing their colors,
but camouflage is only one small reason. Most of the time, they change color to communicate
with other chameleons. A bright male may show bold colors to warn another male to stay away.
During the breeding season, colorful patterns can also help attract a mate.
Their colors can also change with their mood. A chameleon may become darker when it feels
angry or stressed, and brighter when it is calm or excited. Even the weather plays a role.
On a cool morning, a chameleon turns darker to absorb more heat from the sun.
When it gets too hot, it becomes lighter to reflect sunlight and stay cool.
Amazing, isn't it? A chameleon's skin is like a living color display that helps it survive,
communicate, and control its body temperature. What's your favorite color-changing animal? Tell
