The most important job of a life insurance company is to provide protection and peace of mind.
At AIA our purpose is to help people live healthier, longer, better lives
and that benefits everyone. Our customers, their families and us, the insurance company.
When you're a company focused on protecting futures, sustainability can't be an afterthought.
That's why we partner with organisations like Lenovo.
We strive to help our customers build the best future possible.
Our vision is to help make New Zealand one of the healthiest and best protected places in the world.
Sustainable operations is a key pillar of our sustainability strategy.
We have almost 700 employees based out of Auckland and when we moved into our new office
it created a pretty major technology transformation, but this was a good challenge to have.
Before the move it was clear our technology wasn't keeping up with our team's ambitions.
We wanted to support our teams with devices that match their abilities and future-proof the company
for the age of AI. But it wasn't as simple as swapping out a few PCs, it was a company-wide
transition at massive scale. We needed to make that transition as responsibly as possible
in keeping with our sustainable development goals. With Lenovo we already had a long-standing
relationship that we could trust. For Lenovo maintaining relationships with our customers
is as important as forging new ones. Customer intimacy leads to more effective collaboration
and a deeper understanding of not only what a customer's needs are, but who they are,
their goals and their values. The Lenovo Asset Recovery Service was a real game changer for us.
It gave us absolute confidence that devices were being securely wiped, reused wherever possible,
and responsibly recycled. It was important to AIA to finish the life cycle of their tech
responsibly, including carbon offset and recycling. In some cases we were even able to extract
additional value from their older tech. For us sustainability isn't separate from the business,
it's part of how the company thinks about the future. We wanted technology that was modern,
flexible and simple. Something that worked wherever our people worked. Lenovo helped equip us
with ThinkPad T14 Gen 5s and the ThinkVision Curve displays. Being AI ready and with a single
cable, the employees can work quickly and seamlessly connected to any monitor without
interruption. At a smaller scale we're beginning to implement Lenovo AI PCs with Intel Panther
Lake technology. At a larger scale across the entire organisation we know our complete range
of devices is AI ready and set up for whatever we need to do into the future. Lenovo provides
a range of additional support services. Premier support gives us 24-7 availability and next day
on-site support when we need it. The battery warranty gives us great security if things go
wrong and international service entitlement means that our teams can take their devices anywhere and
still be 100% supported. Technology and sustainability should go hand in hand. The result
is a more connected workforce. We have technology that just works, that delivers smoother operations.
We've got the tools now that keep pace with what we need today and set us up for anything
that we're going to need into the future. Together with Lenovo we're building a smarter,
more sustainable future of work.
