Laser Engraving Canvas. Wolverine!

Hey folks and welcome to the live stream. If you're just joining us we are doing a laser engraving today. This is a comic book page and it's pretty awesome wolverine graphics. So we are going a little bit slower to get a little bit finer detail. Underneath this black paint is a layer of yellow paint and a layer of blue paint. So his traditional outfit colors, one of his traditional outfit colors, not the yellow and brown, the yellow and blue. Obviously those colors aren't going to come out in the right spots on the suit because the technique we're using it's a negative technique and we're going to end up with the background being those colors and the outlines being this nice poppy black that you're seeing here. I apologize folks. It gets annoying. It's just my text and we are streaming from my phone here today. So, so far this is looking pretty magnificent. I'm liking it. We'll see how it comes out when we're done. All right, looks like we're doing really well so far. So what you can see is a little bit of wolverine claw down here in the corner. You can see his fist. You can see a knee, a leg. The rest of this is water. The larger picture in the corner he's like standing in the sewer and then there's two other really good black outline pictures of his face as well. So hopefully this comes out as nicely as it's looking to come out so far. I'm digging it. We do a lot of these laser engravings and for the format I'm using right now with the black on top and the negative image, the comic book pages are really spectacular. So here's what I want you to do. If you're listening to this, if you can hear me, find me the coolest black and white, mind you, the coolest single comic book page with a graphic that you think I should engrave. They won't pop up to everybody else but you'll get to see the one that I select as the winner when I engrave it in another live show. So this is pretty damn neat in my opinion. Now technically, this being Marvel's artwork, yeah Marvel's artwork, I can't sell this picture but I could give it away and it would make a nice addition to any collector's piece judging from the looks of it so far. I'm kind of wishing that I had switched the layering of the yellow and the blue because these blue water ripples down here or these water ripples I think would come out a little bit better blue but they're coming out yellow which is okay. Like I said, you get a weird negative effect from doing this and I am actually burning the image in backwards so we'll see what happens. This is kind of the exact opposite of that because the paint's already dry and we're removing it. I don't know, that was a dumb analogy. Awkward! And I am really digging this so far though. I like the boldness pop of the black, the stark outlines, the pen, the deep, dark, rich black, full black, like kind of black you'd want to see in a tattoo if you were getting a tattoo, you know, like squid ink black and so far I'm getting a feeling this guy's gonna come out all right. If anybody's wondering, I do have my camera in landscape mode. It for some reason won't let me switch to portrait. It's even telling me to rotate it right now which is stupid but the screen is showing a little phone icon with a lock in it so it must be locked into portrait mode and I don't want to joggle the camera too much right now so I'm not going to mess with it but hopefully I'll take care of that for my next stream and find that setting so I can unlock it. If anybody happens to know where that is, definitely let me know in the comments down below because I would love to not be looking at the big white blanks on the side of my screen here as well. All right, that bottom part of the engraving is really coming into its own. You can see Wolverine's rippling leg muscles there. You can see his claws pretty predominantly and the beautiful thing about this is I already know what the image looks like but the further it goes the more it reveals to you so it might seem boring but it's kind of cool to pop in and check on once in a while and see how everything's coming along.
