In this video i do another successful ABS print on my Ender 3 pro, with no enclosure. I used Amazon Basics black ABS, and printed a model on from thingiverse on the open air Ender 3 pro from Creality. Check out how it came out!

The creator tests Amazon Basics black ABS filament on an Ender 3 Pro. Despite a successful print quality and a positive review of the filament's performance, the user warns against using a magnetic bed for ABS due to the plastic coating fusing with the print at high temperatures.
Hey guys, TechNiverse here. I have one more print to show you in ABS off of my Ender 3 Pro,
and then I'm going to put the ABS away for a while. I don't typically print in it too much.
We'll bust it back out in a little while and do that review I was talking about,
but I have a lot of PLA stuff that I'd like to get printed and a PTEG project in the works as well.
So we're just going to kind of stash it away, but if you want to see
this build with ABS on my Ender 3 Pro, stay tuned.
All right, since I last filmed, I got the temperature of my house down by about five
degrees. We did it slowly, one degree at a time. As you can see, I still am not having
any layer separation, which is good. Oh, what's that? Oh, that's just grain in the film. Okay,
that looks good. No thin spots, no fat spots. Let's go around over the side here.
Yeah, so far I am loving this black ABS from Amazon Basics. It's definitely my favorite film
that I've had from Amazon Basics for sure. All right, we are about midway through the
print of this Predator Action Flyers with the black PLA here so far. So far, so good.
Knock on wood. If this comes out, I'm going to have to give the Amazon Basics a good review
because I was so mean to their translucent yellow PLA. I don't know if you saw that review or not,
but it was not a good product and I was not happy with pretty much any of the stuff that came off.
So this is really pleasing to me to know that it's not all of Amazon Basics products.
So I might give another one or two of their filaments a shot. I mean, they are pretty cheap,
but we'll see. We'll see how this comes out. All right, so the print came out gorgeous.
Couple of things. I don't recommend printing ABS on your magnetic bed. The reason I did this is
because I was actually testing the magnetic bed at high temperatures. And since it was up that
high, I figured I'd print something that could run that high. And I had this Amazon ABS laying
around, so I decided to run it. As you can see, it did come out with a very beautiful print. Okay.
Unfortunately, this is not going to be my holy grail because the parts on the bottom are fused
together. We're not going to blame that on Amazon. If I'd have been printing on glass,
I actually am pretty sure that this would have worked out. It was me and my choice of using the
mat to print on. As you can see, it didn't demagnetize the bed, but the plastic coating
on the top started to fuse to the ABS. So I am actually beginning to be under the impression
that the reason they tell you not to turn this up past 70 degrees is because of the coating on the
top. I did have some issues when I went to remove the magnet because these magnets actually get
stronger as you heat them up. So when the part was done and the bed said it was mostly cooled,
but the part was still warm when I tried to lift, I could lift basically to here,
but I had a hard time yanking it off there. I had to let it cool completely before I could
even remove it. So as far as the ABS goes, I am not a fan of ABS. I don't like it. It's just too
finicky. But I am going to say, if you're going to get some ABS, this is the best one that I've
tried. So yeah, Amazon Basics, normally I'm not a huge fan of the Amazon Basics PLA,
but I think after trying this roll of their ABS, I might grab two or three more rolls of their PLA
and do a range of testing to see if maybe I just got a bad roll last time. So if you guys are into
ABS printing, definitely check this stuff out. It's pretty cheap and actually good quality.
And it's amazing. The most amazing place I went for the first time, I went to Alaska
and yeah, and I saw a moose for the first time. By applause, who here has ever seen a moose in
the wild? That's pretty much it guys. It's going to wrap up this ABS print. If you enjoyed this
