All right, so Joshua Teehee here.
I am down at what used to be Club Fred,
now it's Summer Fox, with the Club Fred,
with Fred Martinez, to talk about this thing
that we're looking at behind us,
which is the Mural of Fred's.
Is that what it's called, the Mural of Fred's?
Yeah, the Mural of Fred's, I guess.
So this was a mural that was created specifically
to go into Club Fred when you owned the place here.
Yes, it is.
Created by my brother, Daniel.
And it features exclusively all Fred's.
Yeah, famous, famous Fred's.
And some maybe not so famous, I don't know.
Pretty famous.
Well, they're famous in their field.
How long were you here with the venue?
91 to, probably from 91 to 2003 or four.
Okay, and then it ended up at Tower District Records.
It went to Tower District Records, yeah.
And now it's sort of come home.
How did that happen?
Well, my good friend, Glenn Duffin,
was playing here on Mardi Gras,
and I met the owners of Summer Fox,
and I told them they'd done a great job with the venue,
but there's a history here that they should embrace.
We decided it would be good to bring the mural home
and bring back the neighborhood ambiance
of the heart of the Tower of Venice Village, Club Fred.
Yeah.
I mean, not Club Fred, but...
Well, yeah, Summer Fox, but I feel like people
will always remember it.
Some people will always remember it as Club Fred.
Oli, Club Fred.
Oli, Club Fred, yeah.
Oli's, yeah.
Do you have a favorite Fred on the mural?
That's a hard one, I know.
I kinda do, and I think it would probably be Fred Flintstone.
Okay, all right, Fred Flintstone, there it is.
