The Thunder are plotting something huge...
Sep 4, 2026
The Thunder already have their eyes set on the 2027 NBA draft as it's been reported that several
of their scouts were seen in Australia this week looking at an up-and-coming talent down there in
the NBL who has a very high ceiling and as you may or may not know the Thunder are in yet another
really really good position with next year's draft and even though there is a whole season yet to be
played between now and then and we have a whole rookie class from this 2026 year headlined by
to evaluate before next season the Thunder are in a great position once again with draft capital
thanks to the wizard himself Sam Presti. So the major story for this video is that there already
is a prospect the Thunder have gone and looked at and only a handful of teams have gone down there
for this showcase in Australia taking place from September 2nd through the end of this weekend on
September 6th and that one player is a legacy player his brother is in the NBA as we speak
and that player as reported by Olgin Ulitsch I want to make sure I'm saying that correctly
he's a reporter in Australia who covers basketball multiple NBA teams including the Thunder,
the Warriors, the Magic, the Blazers, the Rockets, and the Heat that's six teams right there are at
the NBL Blitz watching Dash Daniels. Dash Daniels is the younger brother of Dyson Daniels who you
probably would know him as the former steals leader of the NBA before Case and Wallace came
in and took that title away from him but part of a very successful basketball family Dash recently
has committed himself to the 2026-27 season in the NBL and teams are very intrigued by what he
has to offer so we're going to talk about exactly who Dash Daniel is why you should have him on your
radar why the Thunder are interested in we're going to break down a little bit of film for him
in this video as well so going to talk Dash Daniels I'm excited to do that before we do so

gonna have them in both places go customize your box set down below don't miss out on our
partnership but Dash Daniels the younger brother of Dyson Daniels what makes him so appealing to
teams around the NBA well he was on team's radar last season because there was a potential of him
being in that stacked 2026 draft class he actually was in the NBL last year he went that route rather
than going the college route in 2025 he would have been a freshman in college last season but
he decided to go the NBL route and after what was considered a pretty up and down season of a lot of
highs and a lot of lows he decided to withdraw from that loaded draft class give himself another
year of development he switched teams in the NBL as well and so he's going to be back there this
coming season and he would have been the youngest prospect in the class last year and when I say
ups and downs there were a lot of good things and a lot of bad things for Dyson Daniels I mean first
obviously what makes him the appealing prospect well the fact that he is a sheer physical specimen
already at just 19 years of age now he is six foot five and he has that plus wingspan at six
foot nine so this dude is built to be a defensive menace just like his brother and if he can develop
and continue to work on his outside game his offensive bag he is the exact type of player
that has Sam Presti written all over him and I mean you can just take a look for yourself right
we'll start with his defensive film uh let me get Sam Presti out of here one second okay here's a
little bit of the defensive film of Dash Daniels obviously the dude loves the full court press
because especially in the NBL with inferior talent this dude can just swarm and overwhelm
he used his long arms to force a turnover there you'll see him on ball here just jumping up using
that wingspan setting up a transition dunk on the other end so the dude thrives on chaos and he's
the type of guy that Sam Presti would love because he fits the defense first mentality he fits that
high high ceiling type of guy and he's obviously getting some work in the international circuit
which Sam Presti also has shown that he loves based on his history of draft picks basically
since the beginning of time when he's been a general manager for the Thunder the offensive
game is the biggest piece that still has to come through for Dash there's a reason why he didn't
go into the draft last year and it's because he had a pretty up and down season last year in the
NBL I mean these were his overall numbers he averaged only 4.2 points per game he only played
15 minutes a game he played just over 30 games a year his shooting percentages were not bad but
there were certain games where you'd see him go off and score 14 points on five of seven from the
field and there was plenty of games out there where he'd only play eight or nine minutes because he
just was not really that developed offensively he couldn't take care of the basketball he would
force turnovers on one end but he would turn them right back over on the other end so he still got
to work on his dribble he's a big framed dude that is still pretty young so he's got to kind of
figure out his body along the way with the coordination with the obviously he has the
athleticism but here's a little bit of his shot if you're curious what I mean his three-point shot
he can hit him but I think that his three-point mechanics need a decent bit of work you saw one
there this is going to be another one on a step back right here a little bit of a hitch in his
three-point shot he needs a lot of space to knock it down a pretty slow jumper he can attack the
basket too obviously he's big so he can get down there and bully along he would be a great wing
player for OKC and for any team in the NBA as long as you're willing to take a chance on the fact that
he may have a low floor kind of along the way but he spent his offseason actually training with a
former NBA guy Wesley Matthews when he was in Atlanta Dash stayed with his brother Dyson at
his house in Atlanta he trained with Wesley Matthews who spent a lot of time in the NBA he
was a 15-year NBA vet he helped him out with kind of that wing three and D type of stuff that Wesley
was his entire career so Dash he would be the type of guy that I would expect for Sam Presty to go
out and target and with that in mind the Thunder this coming draft they have a lot of fuel in the
tank I mean this thing only got better when you consider the whole Kawhi Leonard Los Angeles
Clippers debacle I made a video on that yesterday if you want to go take a look at that here on the
channel but if you don't know the Clippers are essentially in hell right now they're losing
five first round picks for the sanctions of their Kawhi Leonard cap circumvention
they're not going to have ever ever been two first round picks over the next eight years so
Steve Ballmer and co over there they are in a major world of trouble and this coming season
the Thunder own the pick swap rights with the Clippers along with two other first round picks
and a second round picked as well so the Thunder on the low end would most likely end up with two
first round picks but I would anticipate that they're going to end up with three because I
see a world where Denver ends up in the top five of the NBA draft lottery and I don't see a world
at all where the Spurs end up in the top 16 of draft picks as well so the Thunder likely will
end up with a pick there in the lottery with the Clippers they'll probably end up with a pick in
the 20s because of the Nuggets and probably a pick in the mid to upper 20s from the Spurs as well so
the Thunder are going to have three first round picks and they're going to have a second rounder
as well which is the most amount of draft capital that any team has in this coming draft and it
would give you an opportunity depending on what Dash is able to do here in this coming NBL season
it would give you an opportunity to take a shot on somebody like this and obviously for the Thunder
to send their scouting department down to Australia as one of just a handful of teams that went to
Bendigo this week the Thunder obviously have Dash on their radar and I don't blame them for the
set that he can bring to the table so I'm curious to get your guys's thoughts on Dash Daniels down
below I'm sure this is going to be a lot of your guys's first time hearing about him in this video
if it is let me know your first impressions if it's not let me know your own thoughts on Dash
down below in the comments and while you're down there go click that link in the description to go
take a look at Anson Belt and Buckle and their partnership that they have with us go customize
that box set so appreciate them appreciate you guys for watching we'll see you guys tomorrow
