OTA's done. Training camp over. Preseason games, they're a thing of the past.
The Giants are on the clock for their prime time home and season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
New year, new Jamin, or same old Giants. This is your Blue Rush season preview from the New York
Post Sports. Let's bring in our long time Giants beat writer for the Post, Paul Schwartz. Going
35, I think. 34. You're a vested. You are a vested vet right there, Paul.
Yes. Yeah. I mean, I, you know, when I see things like, you know, Aaron Rodgers and, you know,
Matt, Matthew Stafford, all these guys getting 40 or 38, 39, I'm like, hey, let these old guys
keep me, keep me in the game as long as they can do the job. Keep me in the game, right?
Yeah. A few more gray hairs here and there, I would say, but you know what? If I say that it's
the same old Giants, then we can end the show right now because it's not the same old Giants.
We know that right now, right? We know. Well, new faces across the board, obviously within the
coaching staff. Matt Nagy is in charge of Jackson Dart's year two development. And we'll start this
off with does Jackson Dart, from everything we've seen from the spring to the summer, to what we
didn't see in the preseason with, you know, he not playing that much, does he have enough weapons
and can he be protected enough for the Giants offense to be a real threat this season?
You know, it's funny, Brandon, you asked the question without asking maybe the most important
question, is Jackson Dart good enough, right? You're saying, okay, is he going to be protected?
Does he have the weapons? Okay. Those are legitimate questions, but those are legitimate
questions when you have a quarterback who's proven, right? And you say, okay, we know what
he can do. Let's see if there's enough around him. Okay. Will he be protected? I think he'll
be protected. Yes. I think he'll be protected quite well for the five starters on the offensive
line was back. I mean, it's not a dominating offensive line, but it was, I think it was like
a just around top nine, 10, 11 offensive line that was light years better than the past.
I think the rookie CC Maui Noah at right guard will be an upgrade. Maybe he'll have some rookie
hiccups along the way, but I think he's going to be a really good player pretty quickly. So
I like the offensive line. I like that the offensive line's depth. So I think Jackson
Dart should be pretty secure there. Weapons. I think they want to be a running team first. So
does he have enough running backs? He has enough running backs. Does he have a star running back?
He does not. I don't think Cam Scatterboo is a starter, but I think a one, two punch of Cam
and Najee Harris probably be okay. And then we'll see what else happens after that. Tight ends.
Excellent. I think, you know, Isaiah likely makes a big difference. Wide receivers, Malik neighbors
better be great. Maybe not from week one, because I don't think he'll be ready for full-time action
week one. He needs to be great because there's not a lot of other greatness there at all.
Is Jackson Dart good enough? We shall see, right? He was darn promising as a rookie. I think you
would agree, right? He looked really good as a rookie. I think all the stuff with him sliding
and running out of bounds and taking too many hits and medical tent, I think that stuff is really
going to be mitigated this year. He was a rookie. Rookies do things like that. They're headstrong.
They have to get that first down. They have to, you know, slide head first. I think this coaching
staff will be more demanding to him to clean up your act and stay on the field. So I think he will.
And now we'll see if his skill set and if his moxie and if his arm strength and his mobility,
all that stuff is good enough to be a winning quarterback. That's what he has to be. He has
to be a winning quarterback, not a star quarterback. Well, I thought that was given. That's
why I left that out in terms of is Jackson Dart good enough? I think he showed enough last year
to where I can put him as a top 15 quarterback in this league. And I think he's still ascending.
I mean, that's fine. But I mean, if you see most things that say, let's list the top quarterbacks
one to 32, I don't think he's in 15 of anybody's. I mean, not anybody's, but most consensus is he's
not in 15. And I don't know if I would put him there now anyway. It doesn't matter, right? It
doesn't matter where we put him now. It's a matter of where we put him at the end of the year. And is
he a winner? Yeah, I mean, he's very promising, but I don't think going into year two, you can
check, OK, they have their quarterback. We think they have their quarterback. I'm not ready to say
that. I'm really not, Brandon. Now, I agree with you. I'm bullish on him, right? If he was a stock,
I would buy him. But we have to see it. We have to see it. You know, he has to do it. And
I'm not concerned about the great plays because like his touch, you know, he was on the field
for just a handful of plays in the preseason. Right. One of them was an unbelievable touchdown
throw to Malakai Fields, right? I mean, it was a special play. It was special the way he reverse
pivoted. He improvised. He made a throw where only the very tall receiver could get it. Great play.
I'm not worried about that. I think he'd make the great plays. Can he make the plays,
the boring plays, the third and sevens, it's third and 12. OK, you only get eight yards,
run off the field, don't put the ball in harm's way. Can he do the little things,
series after series to get your team down the field in field goal range and to score touchdowns?
If you can do that, I think the team is good enough. He doesn't have to be. I mean, Phil
Sims was not a great quarterback for a long time. Eli Manning was not a great quarterback in year
two, yet they won what, 10, 11 games. So be a winning quarterback and then see how much,
you know, if you have greatness in you, that will show up at some point.
The reason why I'm holding my breath, or I think he'll be 50-50 per se when it comes to
making the boring play, because on a third and 12 and he scrambles and he tries to fit some ball
into a tight window. I think he does that not because he's feeling himself as Jackson Dart,
but he has identified that they've went out there and they've got me some weapons.
If he's trying to fit that ball into an Isaiah Likely, I'm OK with that throw into a Malachi
Fields who we've seen throughout the course of spring and training camp. I'm OK with that throw.
And of course, Malik Neighbors, you have to make that throw or try and fit that in there because
of how great Malik Neighbors can be. I'm OK with those type throws, but if you're
maybe trying to fit it into a Theo Johnson or you're trying to fit it, I mean, I'll put Odell
in with that first group as well. If he's trying to make a spectacular play to a spectacular player,
I'm OK with that. But if he's trying to do too much to where he's trying to, again,
trying to take on a linebacker 15, 16 yards down the field, or he tries to make some ill-advised
throw in the red zone on some like special play or gimmick type play, then he hasn't learned his
lesson. But I think they've put enough weapons around this kid for him. It's going to be on him,
but I think he's got enough now to where we can see some sort of Drake May type jump in year two.
Now, the biggest question a lot of people have had in his development is the X's and O's picking
up this new offense. And some were worried within the big three of offensive coaches and Matt Nagy,
Greg Roman and Brian Callahan, would there be too many cooks in the kitchen? Whose offense is it?
If Matt Nagy in this offense struggles early, do they make some sort of switch
from everything you've seen, everything you've heard? Do you feel like that big three can get
it done on the X's and O's standpoint of this Giants offense? It's funny you mentioned that,
because what happened in the last preseason game, right? It's like, wait, was that Brian Callahan,
the quarterback's coach, calling plays? And John Harbaugh said, yeah, he was calling the plays,
thought we'd switch it up a little bit. And I think Harbaugh was having some fun with us.
You know what I mean? I thought I'd switch it up a little bit. And it's like, whoa,
is he not happy with Matt Nagy, the offense coordinator? Brian Callahan has been a play
caller and he's been a head coach. It was just, no, that's, you know, around the league they let,
I think, didn't Jordan Love? Jordan Love called plays for the Packers.
Right? So, I mean, that's what you do in a third preseason game. A lot of times you let,
you know, position coaches or you let maybe the backup quarterback or the starting quarterback
call play. So that was fun. It's a new offense, Brandon. We've talked about this. It's not
like, and I think that could work to the Giants' advantage if they can execute it properly.
Because the Cowboys can't go into this and say, just like, just let's see what the Chiefs did
and we'll study that because that's what Nagy's going to bring. You can't do that because it's
not the Chiefs. It's not, it's some of Greg Roman's run game stuff from the Ravens. It's
some of Brian Callahan's stuff from the Titans. And it's a lot of John Harbaugh's belief system
from 18 years with the Ravens. I mean, there's a lot of Harbaugh in this offense. There really is.
Nagy didn't have a 300-pound fullback, you know. Harbaugh wants a 300-pound fullback. So they
signed Patrick Ricard and he's in this offense right now. But I think we can't minimize the
fact that this is a new offense. And the best thing about year number two for a quarterback
is what? Continuity. You're in the same system two years in a row. What have they done to Jackson
Dart, right? What did John Maris say about Daniel Jones? We've done everything possible to screw
this kid up by changing, by changing coordinators, by changing head coaches, and by having a lousy
offensive line. Okay, he's got a good offensive line, Jackson Dart. What have they done to help
him? They have a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, a new quarterback's coach, and a
brand new system. That doesn't help him. Now, it'll help him at some point if it's a really
good offense. So I think we have to remember it's a new offense and it might not look great from day
one because everyone is better the second year in an offense and this is the first year for
Jackson Dart. That's a big part of this. Here's my thoughts on Callahan calling plays. I understand
why they did it. And yeah, you have the fun with it. He's been a play caller in the NFL.
Very harmless. And again, quarterback's coach, he's well-respected in the locker room, well-respected
around the league. But this New York media, if things go bad, things go sour, they could always
go back to that game and be like, see, the seed was planted there. Harbaugh was unhappy
with Nagy and how far the offense was coming along by preseason game number three. So they
have been looking over my shoulder. You've been looking over my shoulder to see what I'm writing.
I've been around the beat long enough. Not so much your shoulder as other people's shoulders
within the beat. And you know what else though, Brandon, which is true. Don't you get the sense
and hopefully a lot of fans will be watching this, right? Fans are not into Matt Nagy.
I get that sense. Fans didn't love the hire. They would have loved Munkin. They would love
Todd Munkin if he came, right? And he would have been the offensive coordinator, except
the Browns surprised everybody and named him their head coach. Nobody really saw that coming.
You know, Munkin was with Harbaugh, with the Ravens. He wanted to bring him to the Giants.
He couldn't get the chance. He got offered a head coaching job. So I think fans also are
skeptical of Matt Nagy. So I agree. Media, yes. But also if they struggle for a game or two,
I think a lot of the fans are going to be like, we were right. We don't like this guy. Who's next?
Who's next? Who's next? So it's definitely something to watch. The thing with Nagy though,
I think fans, I think they have to realize his hands are tied as an offensive coordinator,
because you have a coach, a successful head coach who has a mentality on what he wants
for his scheme on offense. You said it, wants to run the football. Andy Reid out in Kansas City,
they want to run first team. Their running backs played second fiddle to obviously the quarterback,
the tight end and the Hollywood Browns and the Rasheed Rice's and the receivers that made big
plays for them. I think that kind of ties Matt Nagy's hands a little bit as a guy who coming
from that Kansas City Chiefs tree, coaching tree, offensive schemes wants to go a little bit more
empty, wants to spread the football out a little bit more, go 11 personnel. So I mean, we'll see
that's something to keep an eye out on. But I think the best thing the Giants could have done
this year was taking everybody's phones from West Virginia to where they couldn't film the
competitive periods. Cause you see the reports on defensive coaches saying, yeah, we, we,
we scoured the internet for fan videos to see protection schemes and routes and how we could
stop that. It's all about gaining an advantage. So it's going to be anxious to see. I'm really
anxious to see what this big three of offensive coaches come up with and how Jackson Dart
responds. Let's flip it to the defensive side of the football. And we can stay on the coaching
right now when it comes to talking about the defense, because we're going to know,
and we're going to know early if Shane Bowen, former defensive coordinator was the problem.
Denard Wilson comes in new scheme, new dream. I've heard nothing but good things from the players
about coach Wilson and the way that he not only coaches, but he teaches and the way he
wants them to attack specifically with the, with the corners. But I ask you, Paul,
is this because you're only as good as your pass rush when it comes to this defense,
is this pass rush only good on paper, or could this be a top five pass rush in the NFL?
You're only as good as your pass rush is if you make the team pass the ball that,
you know what I mean? And, and, and, and, and just like the Giants want to be a running team,
you know, I think teams are going to come out and look and say, the Giants were 31st in the
league in rushing, rush defense last year. Now they don't have Dexter Lawrence. Prove to us,
you can stop us, you know, and prove to us, you know, DJ Reader's a good player,
Shelby Harris, a good player, but that's the big question. Can they stop the run? The pass rush
should be good and could be great. Brian Burns is, is, is, you know, he had a career year last
year. I don't think he's going to have 16 and a half sacks again this year. I just, you know,
that's a, that's a hard number to maintain. Cavan Thibodeau is what he is at this point. He's a good
player and he's good at a lot of things, but I don't think he is a elite pass rusher. I never
have. He's a good player, but I don't think he's an elite pass rusher. The wild card in all this
is Abdul Carter. Is Abdul Carter, now, you know, what did we hear last year at this time? Abdul
Carter is unblockable. He was unblockable in training camp. He was unblockable a lot of times
this year in training camp. Now the job is to be unblockable starting September 13th. Is he that
kind of player? He has the potential to be great. You know, we've seen it, you've seen it, that bend,
that first step, that explosiveness. I mean, he's got, he's got, he's got a nasty disposition on the
field. Now he's got, he's got the rookie year under his belt. He had four sacks. He had some
maturity issues, right? Some, some, you know, getting, attending to business and the job
issues. Those hopefully are behind him. And is he just going to get to work? And this summer,
that's what he was all about. Will he do it? You know, will he do it? You know, I mean,
there's a lot of players, you know, the fields are littered with players who have great potential
and they don't live up to it. He has great potential. If he's great and in the New York
post-season preview, that'll be out soon in our special section. Here's a preview, right?
For most important defensive, defensive player, I put Abdul Carter because now you could say
one of the cornerbacks is most important or R. Val Reiss or Brian Burns. How could he not be
the most important? I know what Brian Burns is. I think I know what Kayvon Thibodeau is. I don't
know what Abdul Carter is really. I know what I think he can be. So he's their most important
defensive player at the end of this season. If you look down the line and he has a tremendous
amount of games played and he's got tremendous production and deflected passes and double digit
sacks and all kinds of pressures, then this pass rush is going to be really, really good.
And they're going to need them because going into this season, there's a lot of people still
questioning how good this secondary can be. And if you've got a top tier pass rush, you're able
to get away with some things when it comes to your secondary potentially or how good your
secondary can potentially be. Javon Holland has to have a big year. Tyler Newbin has to show up.
What are we going to get from Paulson the D-Bowl? Greg Newsom the second. He's looked like he could
be a guy for them, a definite starter. I feel like he's earned a starting job. And then Tay Banks,
Colton Hood, who's going to be that guy? Going into this season, particularly early in this
season, going up against the wideouts that they're going to be going up against, Paul,
are you looking at the secondary as a liability or an asset? Those are two strong words. I'm not
putting them as an asset right now. I think it's a potential liability. A possibility to be a
liability. Look, the cornerback room is interesting, but is there a number one
cornerback? I mean, Paulson the D-Bow is supposed to be number one. He has not played like that.
I'm not even sure he's going to start an opening night. I mean, how mind boggling would it have
been if I told you a few months ago, I think Deontay Banks is going to beat out Paulson the
D-Bow. Was Tay Banks that great? Tay Banks had a really good summer, but he should not be beating
out Paulson the D-Bow for the number one cornerback spot. And I do think Greg Newsome,
Greg Newsome didn't play at all in the final preseason games. That tells me, I mean,
I think he's going to start. Now, let me ask you, because you were on this team.
Did Corey Webster and Aaron Ross ever make a Pro Bowl? No. They were the two starting cornerbacks
on a Super Bowl winning defense, correct? Well, Sam Madison on the outside, but Ross was the
Yeah. Okay. Did Sam Madison make a Pro Bowl that year? Not that year. No, I don't believe
anyone in the secondary did, but we had a very strong secondary that made some big plays
and some big moments of some really big games. I think everyone will agree to that.
No question. They worked together with the front group that was outstanding. You know what I mean?
So look, we know in this league, if you make guys cover three, four, five seconds,
it's not going to work. It's just not going to work. The quarterbacks are good. The receivers
are good. The tight ends are good. The backs are good. It's not going to work. So back then,
the OCs and the Strayhands and the Tucks and the JPPs, they made them look better. They just made
the defensive backfield look better. So I'm not saying you have to have a star studded Pro Bowl
laden. You know, you don't have to have the Legion of Boom back there. You don't. But I think I can
give you a question at safety with Tyler Newman. What is he? You know, is he kind of an in the box
guy? You know, he was an incredible ball hawk at University of Minnesota. He doesn't get near the
ball now. You know, he doesn't get his hands on the ball much at all. So could he be that kind
of guy? Javon Holland, he had an okay first year with the Giants. I think he's capable of more.
He's a good communicator. Can he be a, you know, a top player? That's what they paid him for.
I think there are questions, you know, who's the best nickelback on the team? Is it Drew Phillips?
Is it, you know, is it Washington? I don't know. I don't know. So I think there are questions at
every level. Fewer questions, certainly. I mean, we didn't even talk about inside linebacker. I
don't think there were any questions at inside linebacker. I think the inside linebacker position
is potentially the best on the team. And that's unbelievable for where it came from last year.
Last year it was Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden, and Darius Muisel, right? Now it's, you know,
Okereke just signed with the Panthers. Muisel was just cut. And McFadden, who's a good player,
is now a backup because they recruited over him with Tremaine Edmonds and Arvel Reese. So that's,
that's how you build a position group. Yeah, I think for the secondary, just turn,
locate the football. If you can do that, you're going to have the ability to be pretty solid,
be pretty good out there. Cause the last thing you want to see is Abdul, one of these guys,
get some sort of pressure. A Dak or a Matthew Stafford just throws the football up there.
They don't locate it. And then there goes a 15 yard penalty instead of some sort of incompletion
or even a possible turnover that gets them off the football field. Do not have these cheap penalties
to extend drives. Now let's look ahead a little bit, Paul. So what the people want,
I absolutely hate predictions. What's up, buddy? There's my son right there. He's got the,
the Spider-Man Brian Burns shirt right there. We're going to do a little prediction action.
Come on up here, man. Come on up here while we do that. I'm going to name the first four games
of the season. Paul, you tell me what you think, and then we'll just, we'll keep rolling. You ready?
Cowboys, Rams, Titans, Cardinals. What you thinking? 4-0 next. Okay. No. Okay.
Um, look, we just talked about the defensive backfield, right? Yep. Are they going to be
tested? Are they going to be tested those first two games? First three,
Cardinal Tate and Wandell Robinson and Calvin Ridley with Tennessee. Well, okay. With, with a,
yes. Okay. But Cam, Cam, Cam Ward is not Dak Prescott or Matthew Stafford. Okay. So yes,
I know you can do that every week, but well, I think getting a split the first two games would
be legendary for the Giants. Legendary. Um, and I think beating the Rams is going to be really hard.
So, and, and you do, it does lessen up Titans and Cardinals, two home games, one o'clock games.
I'm going to be conservative there and say two and two out of those first four.
Next four will be on the road against the commanders, at home against the Saints,
on the road against the Texans, on the road again against the Eagles. So that's three road games,
one at home. And, and between the Texans and the Eagles is a buy, early buy this year, right?
After seven games, we used the buys very late. So, you know, you can look at it and say, you know,
what the heck is this team going to be on November 1st? That's the buy. Um, look,
the commanders are a team they have to beat, you know, the games in, in Washington, uh, Saints are
a team at home that they need to beat. Texans are good. I mean, Texans, Texans are good. I mean,
you know, they, they, they crashed and burned in the playoffs, but they won 12 games last year.
So they're good. That's a defensive front, man. That is a defensive front. And at Philly, I mean,
that's, you know, I've, I've driven into the link too many times and just seen, you know,
the carnage that followed, you know, I know the Giants beat them at MetLife Stadium.
They don't beat them at the link very often. I'm going to, I'm going to say two and two out of
those four games. You know, I think, you know, you don't win every game. Oh, I think they could
beat the commanders. I think they could beat the Saints. Um, yeah, they can, but you don't win
every game. You know, it's the margins are too small. So, and the Texans are going to be hard
to beat and the Eagles. So two and two, two and two out of those four games, I think is optimistic.
So you have them four and four coming out of the buy. Then they host the commanders at home,
November 12th, the Jags come into town, you go to Indy and then the Niners come into town. So
four and four, three home games, one away game. What are you thinking? And, and winnable games,
winnable games. Look, every, every opponent is looking at the Giants and saying winnable games.
That's just the way it is now. I don't know what these teams are. I think I know what the
commanders are. I think they're a mid-level team. I mean, the Jaguars had a great year last year.
Are they a bonafide playoff team every year with that? Oh, by the way, the coach of the
Jaguars, where'd he go to school? UMass. UMass. Let's go. Did you play at UMass too?
Played at UMass. Caught a lot of touchdowns from Liam Cohen from the head coach of the Jaguars.
Here's your time to crow while we take a little break here. So how much money did they get to
go to Rutgers and lose to Rutgers? 1.55 they got. So now they can stop calling me asking me for
money. There's 1.55. There you go. You can have that. Buy, buy yourself a new, buy yourself some
footballs. When is the last time you were happier about a UMass football game? When we beat Montana
in the semifinals to go to the national championship. That was the last time I was,
I was happy. Great, great one for the program. You imagine being a Rutgers fan and thinking like,
okay, now we got to go play in the big 10 soon. It's going to be rough. Okay, well, we digress,
right? But I'm just saying, I don't know what the Jaguars are. I don't know what the Colts are,
you know? And that's going to be, you know, that's at Indy, Daniel Jones. I already hear
the cliches coming from Daniel Jones, right? Just another game. I love my time with the Giants. I
have great respect for the Marentis families. I'm not looking for revenge. And then he's going to
turn the camera off and he's going to be, I want to beat those guys so badly. So badly.
So I think that, but I think that's a stretch where, let's see. And what are the 49ers?
They're a really good team that's incredibly damaged, right? I think I'm going two and two
again. You see a pattern here? I think I'm going two and two again. That's all. So we're at six
and six going before they go on the road to Seattle. They host the Browns. They go on the
road to Detroit. Then they go on the road to Dallas and then they host the Eagles last game
of the season. So there goes the last five. They're six and six. How do they close? How do
you, I guess, predict? Because we can't, but how do you predict that they could possibly close out
the season the last five games? Well, I trust John Harbaugh to have teams finish stronger.
You know, I just do. Now some Ravens fans will say, have you been watching? You know,
they haven't always finished strong, but okay. I mean, I think this team has built
for the long haul. I really do with all these hard practices. So I think they can win three of
the last five games. I do now, you know, we never know the last two games, maybe the Cowboys and
Eagles aren't playing for much. You know what I mean? Maybe you can steal a game because they're
not playing for much. Maybe the Eagles have been clinched already. So you never know that. I think
the Browns, the game they have to win at Seattle is, you know, I mean, at this point it looks like
it's, you know, a game that's almost impossible to win, but maybe, maybe, maybe Sam Darnold's
hurt by that. I mean, you know, you never know. You never know. That is a tough place to play.
We know that. And at the Lions, you, do you have a really, really good handle on the Lions?
I don't know what their defense is going to be. I know the offense is going to light it up and
score some points, but defensively they don't scare anybody. The Giants should have beaten
them last year. Absolutely. Absolutely. They had the game one. So let's see how good you
are at math. I'm giving them three of the last five wins. What does that add up to?
Nine and eight. I think that's what I'm going to pick. I think that's optimistic.
I don't think it's crazy. You know, if it's eight and nine, would I be surprised? No.
Seven and 10 doesn't sound, seven and 10 sounds like a losing record. You know what I mean?
It's not at all. It's not at all.
You know, eight and nine sounds like you're 500 except you had to play an extra game.
So we'll see. We'll see. But I think that's kind of what they are.
I'm going 10 and seven. I'm going a healthy 10 and seven. And maybe it'd be a lot. I think this
is a year that the football gods can kind of favor them a bit. Like you, you just see it,
like look at Brian Dable's first year when they came in and they just, they made a run.
They played together. They made a run. I know the schedule was, was pretty weak,
but just different things happen throughout the course of the NFL season. And I'm hoping I'm
banking on that, that hardball magic. I'm banking on the hardball effect to where now when we get
in that second half of the season and we're looking at the Jags, you're looking at the
Colts and 49ers. They're not the big bad 49ers that we would usually, we wouldn't look at that
game. Like we would look at it. What was it last year when they took over MetLife Stadium?
We won't look at that Lions game. Like we won't look at the Lions in that same manner. And then
those last two games against the Cowboys and the Eagles, they could be must have must win games,
but you saw what John Harbaugh and the Ravens were able to do the very last game of the season to
knock the Steelers out and for them to go to the playoff. So like you said, I think this team,
if they stay healthy, they were able to do that during camp with 10 practices and 11 days.
They've had a relatively healthy camp outside of losing Calvin Austin the third. I know playing
a football game is something completely different, but I don't, I don't, I like the coordinator on
the defensive side of the football. I'm still waiting to see what the offense can look like,
but I think there's weapons there. And then when we get down to that coaching effect,
winning those games, winning or losing by one possession, I'm going to go with the Harbaugh.
I'm all in. I'm all in at the foot on that Harbaugh magic. So I'm going to go a healthy
10 and seven on this season. Look, both our records are putting them in a position that
they have not been, you know, since 2022, but really, you know, that was an anomaly that they
haven't been in more than a decade, you know, pretty much. So here's the thing. You can look
at the season and holidays, right? Labor day, it starts up Labor day, right? Then you have
Halloween and you have Thanksgiving. Then you have Christmas and then you have new years,
right? That's, that's, that's holiday chunks, right? Right there. Labor day is a time of great
optimism, right? For most teams. Halloween should be kind of like, okay, what, what are we here
too often? Halloween? The season's been over clown costumes. The season's been over, right? Yeah. You
that's it. You have nothing to play for. So if they get you to Halloween, now you're in good
shape. Now, if they get you to Thanksgiving, the giants have been totally out of it by Thanksgiving.
Now, if they get you to Thanksgiving, now it's getting cold, right? You're putting on your beanie,
you're putting on your stuff. You can't wear those shorts or those short, whatever you have,
those long pants or short shorts that you wear, right? Free, free the ankle, free the ankle,
free the ankle, right? Your ankles have to be covered up a little bit, right? Maybe you put
some Uggs on, get a little cool. Are you in it? Are they in it? Are they, are they not even,
are they, are they in the hunt, right? In the hunt. You know, at some point, right, the NFL
starts putting up the graphics, right? The playoffs started today. These teams would be in,
these teams would be, these teams would win a division. These teams would be the wild card.
These teams are in the hunt. And then you had over here, either they didn't list the giants
or they were not. It's just, how long can the giants be in the hunt? Be in the hunt. Can they
get the Thanksgiving in the hunt? That is, now it's exciting. You're in the hunt. Okay. You may
not be the favorite to win it, but you're a game out of the last wild card spot. You're two games
out. You have a game, you know, you're in by one game. You have a game coming up. You think you can
win. Maybe we can vault. Now you're watching the other games and the other teams, but if they can
help us out, you know, all this stuff that hasn't been a part of the giants, you know, their fans
mindsets. Then you got Christmas and you got, and you got new year. So that's, that's the bonus.
You know, if you're playing for meaningful games there. So both our records would indicate that
there'll be playing meaningful games through Thanksgiving and maybe into Christmas. And
that's not all you can ask, but that's a lot. That's a lot that you can give to fans for the
season. They'd absolutely love it. Fan base deserves it. Everyone is just sitting on pins
and needles waiting for this season to start. I hate this week zero of the NFL season where
there's just nothing going on, but practices as we get ready for the real preparation for week one,
primetime football, Sunday night, September 13th at MetLife stadium. Be there. B-square
giants take on the Cowboys. This was your blue rush season preview for the New York
post sports for Paul Schwartz. I'm Brandon London. Thank you guys for watching another episode.
