We're in position, new era of Formula E about to get underway.
Brand-new car, all five lights are on,
and we go green in Mexico City.
It's a decent getaway from di Grassi.
It's a very good start from Jake Hughes.
Jake Hughes in the orange McLaren to the outside of Turn 1.
Can't quite do it.
Everybody's safely through the first turn
with di Grassi leading in the Mahindra.
Dennis is second in the Andretti.
Third is Jake Hughes ahead of Lotterer.
Robin Frites is out by the looks of things.
Let's see what happens to him on the outside.
That's a very odd one indeed.
Through to the lead goes Dennis.
Jake Dennis takes the lead of the Mexico City E3.
Di Grassi down to second place.
Mortara for the Maserati MSG crew out of the race.
I don't know. We need to go for it.
Let's give it all.
And there's the move for Lotterer.
He's got him into fourth place,
but the upper Avalanche Andretti is coming through the final corner,
and Jake Dennis starts Gen 3 of Formula E
with a superb dominant win in Mexico City.
Oh, my God, boys. What have we just done?
Oh, we've just dominated the whole field.
Five lights are on.
Benistra is getting a reasonable getaway,
and it's a really good start from Cassidy.
Nick Cassidy in the green Envision.
Gunter sends it to the outside in the blue Maserati MSG.
Can he get that stopped?
They're still side by side.
Cassidy's on the inside.
This is a really quick left-hand turn,
and Gunter gets it.
Oh, and there's a hit.
That's Buemi. He's been hit from the Porsche.
Is that Wehrlein? It's Wehrlein.
Championship leader Pascal Wehrlein
careers into the back of Sebastian Buemi.
And the championship leader is at a standstill,
and the championship leader could be out of the race.
Max Gunter has hit the wall all by himself,
and I think the car's broken.
But it's so, so tight up at the front with the Costa,
because he knows he needs to get a gap,
and he's looking to the inside.
Oh, that is a good move.
An outrageous overtake from Antonio Felix da Costa.
That is the move of the weekend.
Da Costa still has to take an attack mode.
He shouldn't be able to do it.
He missed it. Da Costa missed it.
No way.
Da Costa didn't activate attack mode.
OK, take attack. Take attack now.
Make sure you get it.
Da Costa goes through attack mode,
and Jean-Éric Vergne takes the lead of the E-Prix.
Da Costa's got a great run off turn seven onto Beach Road.
Is he going to go for it again into eight?
Weaving all over the back.
He's going for it.
This is Colonel Edward.
He's done it.
Oh, my God. What?
Antonio Felix da Costa with a farcical move
for the lead of the Cape Town E-Prix.
The man's on a mission.
Da Costa wins for Porsche for the first time
on the streets of Cape Town.
Unbelievable drive from the season six champion.
25 laps of racing action here in Rome.
Lights out, and we're a good start
for Mitch Evans off pole position.
Not bad from Sam Bird away from the grid.
Keep an eye out for Sasha Fenesraz in the Nissan
down towards the first corner.
Jake Dennis running over the long outside line there.
He tries to challenge Sebastien Buemi,
but gets the nose chopped off.
Bit of contact there.
Looks like Sebastien Buemi's in a bit of trouble here.
He's now having to defend from Eduardo Matara
in the Maserati.
He's coming down the inside.
That's going to be really tight,
but he's kind of made it.
And there's a bit of damage there.
Fairlight championship contender
has got some damage.
Front wing is there.
It's Sam Bird.
Sam Bird has crashed out.
Oh, no, that's absolutely huge.
Sebastien Buemi into the side of him.
Red flag is immediately out on lap nine out of 25.
I just heard on team radio
that all drivers are okay following that crash.
Look at this. Dennis on the inside
and Fenesraz going for the race lead.
In towards the left-hander.
Lap 15 out of 25 are on.
We've got a new race leader.
Mitch Evans right on the heels of Jake Dennis.
His attack mode now is over.
Those extra 50 kilowatts of power come to an end,
and now he's going to possibly be under attack
as Mitch Evans goes through into the race lead.
Frustration then for Dennis.
He comes under pressure here from Nick Casti.
Casti to the inside.
Does he go through as a second?
Yes, he does.
So now the Envision is up through.
Across the line comes Mitch Evans
to win for Jaguar TCS Racing
So the drivers are lined up on the grid.
There's your pole sitter, Nick Casti.
Alongside him is Jake Dennis.
We are ready to go.
Five lights on then.
Round 15 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship
is underway.
Good start then from Nick Casti.
He chops the nose off as Sebastien Ouelly
tries to go around the outside of Dennis
in towards turn one.
This is where he's squeezed up,
and it's an Envision one-two,
but Dennis is going to get his elbows out
to the left-hander.
Can he go through? No.
Ticks him as well.
Side-by-side as he comes through
in towards the daylight for the first time.
So it's an Envision one-two then
with Nick Casti followed by Sebastien Ouelly.
Jake Dennis into third.
Look at Dennis.
Dennis attacking here on Nick Casti.
Side-by-side going through into 19.
Is he able to fold the inside line into 20?
He's going to try and hold it up the inside.
Can he go through? Yes, he can.
Side-by-side here with Nick Casti
going through into two.
Oh, contact between the two.
On the outside is Nick Casti.
Can he hold firm?
He's got the inside line into the next right-hander.
Dennis is going to get hung out to dry.
And here comes Sebastien Ouelly
up the inside on the run down the hill.
That's Casti.
Casti's got ahead of Dennis.
Ouelly's in front.
They've got to swap them.
Envision have got to swap these cars now.
He's broken his wing.
Casti's front wing's broken.
Yeah, he has.
But it's going to get...
In fact, it's under the car.
It's all over.
Oh, Nick Casti.
The wheels well and truly are about to come off of his wagon.
The front wing's stuck underneath his car,
and this presents a golden opportunity now for Jake Dennis.
It'll be Mitch Evans who wins Round 15
of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship
to cost him with that time penalty.
But Jake Dennis comes across the line
and he becomes the ABB FIA Formula E
World Champion of Season 9 here in London.
What a drive from Jake Dennis.
For one final time in 2024,
it is 34 laps of action.
It's a title decider in the Thames.
Eyes on the lights, and we're underway here in London.
Good start then from Nick Casti.
He immediately chops over to thwart the charge of Max Gunter.
Side by side there with Mitch Evans
going in towards Turn 1 and 2.
And he goes up.
So it's a Jaguar 1-2 as we head through 3 and 4.
No progress made on the opening lap there for Wehrlein,
but Evans up through into second.
Wehrlein to the inside,
looking at the final corner on Max Gunter.
Needs to get the better of the Maserati.
Gets it done and does indeed move up into third place.
So it's now championship protagonist 1, 2, and 3.
Here we go, Wehrlein on the inside of Evans.
Contact down at the front.
Evans just holds on to the race lead.
This is getting punchy between the top three.
Championship on the line here.
Cassidy, Cassidy's knocked out.
Yeah, and here comes Rowland going through into third place.
It's not working out now for Nick Cassidy.
And the traffic comes and spins it round.
Puncture, puncture here by puncture for Nick Cassidy.
Gunter's front wing's gone as well.
Cassidy into the pits.
Championship over for Nick Cassidy.
Look, they've gone to the attack mode.
Rowland digs a lead.
Safety car's out.
They missed it.
They missed it. Four drivers have missed it.
They've missed their attack mode deployment.
They're not in attack mode then.
Wehrlein 9 tenths. We push and attack.
Is he going to go for it this time around?
He certainly is.
Where's he going to be, though, for Rowland and Wehrlein?
Wehrlein also goes in.
Evans has missed it.
Evans has missed attack mode again
for a second time in succession.
Oh, Mitch Evans and Jaguar.
The wheels are coming off the wagon.
Through the final couple of turns,
out of Turn 20,
and Pascal Wehrlein for Porsche
becomes the 2024
Formula E World Champion here in London.
Lights out.
Formula E is go with four-wheel drive traction.
And it's Pascal Wehrlein battling away
with Oliver Rowland.
And Oliver Rowland on the inside for Nissan
has got the edge into Turn 1.
There's a good battle going on for second place here
because Nick Cassidy coming under more pressure
from Jake Dennis
and from his own teammate Mitch Evans
who sneaks past Jake Dennis.
So now the Jaguars are running right up there
in second and third.
Wehrlein is using this four-wheel drive attack mode.
Look how much closer he is.
Yeah, what's great with the four-wheel drive
is you get so...
There he is.
You can fire yourself out of the corners so quickly.
And we see Pascal there taking the lead of the race
because with the four-wheel drive,
as soon as you pick up the throttle,
you have massive amounts of acceleration.
This is going to be interesting to see
where Mitch Evans gets to.
Let's see what Evans can do.
Have a look at the traction he's got
with the four-wheel drive.
Here we go.
He's attacking Edwin Motara.
And yeah, Motara can't do anything.
What a brilliant thing the attack mode is this year
with the four-wheel drive.
It's added such a new dynamic to the racing.
Here we go. He gains yet another place.
Wow, this is all coming together for Jaguar.
He's got up into what is third.
He's in the podium position
having started dead last in this race.
Do I have a drive-through?
Yes, drive-through, drive-through.
He does have a drive-through, Oliver Rowland.
And that means that Jaguar are running one and two.
You're on board with Mitch Evans right now.
He's coming up to try and go past his teammate Nick Cassidy.
He's got the extra power.
It's easy.
He sweeps past from the back of the grid.
From last place, Mitch Evans taking the lead.
Incredible.
Oh, no, contact.
Gunther, there's Gunther in the wall there
on the exit of Turn 5.
Oh, my God, rolled over.
A big crash, big crash there for one of the...
I think it was one of the Porsches.
I really hope it's OK.
I think I saw a car upside down.
I did, I did.
It was Willem and Cassidy, I think.
Yeah.
It looks good for Mitch Evans.
Mitch Evans is heading through the final corner
and it looks as though the man who started at the very back
wins in Sao Paolo.
Attention, everyone, this is race control speaking.
Sadly, we are forced to cancel qualifying sessions,
so the grid will be taken based on the results
of Free Practice 2.
Free Practice 2 has decided the grid
as qualifying was cancelled
due to adverse weather conditions
earlier on this morning.
Brolin gets a nice start.
Not bad also from Norman Nanto.
Look at Mortara chopping over on the Nissan driver.
Nearly three abreast down into the first corner.
Who's got the lead? It's Oliver Roland.
Nanto's on the outside.
Barnard's on the inside of Mortara.
And side-by-side action there as Max Gunther
was really sideways through the first couple of corners.
Barnard getting ruffled out there
and trying to be challenged by the Nissan of Norman Nanto.
One of the envisions, I think that was Buemi.
Yeah, he's going for attack mode early here, isn't he?
He wants to get into the lead of this race
as soon as possible.
On board we ride with Sebastian Buemi
through that fast and fierce turn 9.
Big snap of oversteer just about keeps it out the wall.
That was close, though.
Here's Barnard on De Vries on the outside.
We go, that's brave into turn 16.
Barnard close to the wall on the inside
into the penultimate corner.
Can he get the move done? He can!
Let's have a look at Mitch Evans.
Now, this is the rejoin.
Oh, there was contact with Nick De Vries,
which sent Evans into the wall.
Let's have a look here at Stoppel Van Doorn.
A few drivers have gone deep, and he went deep there as well.
Not too much of a time.
Oh, no, he spun it.
He spun it at turn 2, Stoppel Van Doorn.
And he hit the wall.
Vries defends, but burns to the outside
into the chicane and makes it stick.
That's brave and brilliant from John Eric Byrne.
Up through to 9th position.
He's not had a victory since Monaco in 2022,
but he does so now.
Stoppel Van Doorn wins on the streets of Tokyo
here for Maserati MSG.
Two wins in a row for that outfit here in Japan.
Yeah!
You want it, want this one.
Red light is coming on then, five of them now.
Who will revel in the XL as the lights go out?
And we go racing. Good start from Evans.
De Vries chops over on Wehrlein,
down towards the first corner.
Who gets the lead into turn 1?
It will be the pole sitter then of Mitch Evans,
who's got the hole shot.
As Cassidy has gone in.
But I think that's a team game they're playing
to try and get Cassidy in front of Wehrlein, don't forget,
because Cassidy was right behind Wehrlein.
Down for the lead.
Yeah, De Vries goes for it, down into the custom house chicane,
makes the move stick.
Nick De Vries, he's come into the pits here,
so he's going to come out of this
having basically gained track position.
He's built up a gap of about four and a half seconds
prior to this pit stop.
Nick Cassidy on the start-finish straight.
Nick De Vries has been released from his pit box,
and he will still be effectively the leader of the race.
Here we go. Oh, into the penultimate corner.
De Vries again defending this one
as if his life depends on it.
Through into the penultimate
and then the final corner we go.
Across the timing line, can De Vries do anything?
I don't think he can.
Nick Cassidy comes across the timing line
and takes the lead of the race at the start of lap 37.
What a weekend this is proving to be so far
for Jaguar TCS Racing.
Nick Cassidy, and as he comes around the final corner,
he will take victory on the streets of London.
Nick Cassidy wins for Jaguar TCS Racing.
Look at this one from Nick Cassidy.
Jaguar had won the last four out of five races,
make that the last five out of six races.
Nick Cassidy does the double
at his final weekend for Jaguar TCS Racing.
It's Cassidy on top here in London.
As the five red lights are now coming on,
it's time for a masterclass then
as the lights go out and we go racing.
What can Drogovic do from the front row of the grid?
What about Nico Muller?
He gets a good start from pole position,
drags down towards Turn 1.
Keep an eye out for Taylor Barnard on the outside there
in the DS Penske.
Muller's deep, Drogovic is on the inside,
challenging for the race lead.
They're all scrabbling, trying to find grip.
Straight into an early attack mode then
for Felipe Drogovic.
He wants to get maximum traction, maximum grip,
and cycle through and challenge for position,
which he's already doing.
Evans now does go in for his first attack mode deployment.
He's been sat there conserving energy
at the back of the pack.
Fifteen seconds left of attack mode
as we exit the final corner.
Surely he's going to go up into the podium places here
as he drags alongside the Brazilian
and goes through for third.
Da Costa with the inside line,
with track position going down into Turn 1.
Who's going to be last at the late break is here.
Can Evans firm it around the outside of his teammate?
He's late on the brakes.
He's going to run a bit deep.
Evans does go through for second.
That's Drogovic straight into the back of Antonio Vinicius.
Da Costa down at Turn 13.
Disaster for Jaguar.
Maybe one Jaguar is able to profit
from the disappointment of another.
Muller goes for defensive line!
Out late on the brakes there for Mitch Evans.
I thought we were going to get a repeat of what we had
one lap ago.
Goes for the switchback on the inside.
Side-by-side they go.
That is absolutely phenomenal from Mitch Evans.
Plays him like a fiddle
as he comes across the line to take the lead of the race.
Jaguar TCS Racing had no points on the board
going into this weekend,
but they are now winners in Formula E Season 12
as Mitch Evans wins here in Miami
ahead of Nico Muller and Pascal Berline,
who will be El Matador in Madrid.
As the lights go out and we go racing,
good start from Casti.
Nice one from De Vries as well.
Look at Da Costa go side-by-side with the Mahindra
as they come down towards the first corner.
Mortara also jostling for position as well.
He is side-by-side with Norman Natto.
Casti with the lead.
Da Costa to the outside.
Nic De Vries with his front wing that's missing there,
so he's had some contact.
Oh, he just misjudged it.
Completely misjudged it.
Now we're looking at the energy figures.
Look at Da Costa, 4% more than Maximilian Günther
in the lead at the moment,
and that is why he's getting past.
Look at that send from Dan Ticktum around the outside
into Turn 7.
Side-by-side he goes with his fellow Porsche-powered machine
of Pascal Berline.
Ticktum's got the inside line as we come on the run.
Down the hill, and Ticktum through for second.
Look at Evans lunging his way to the inside
into the final chicane.
Gets the move done on Pascal Berline.
I wonder if the two Jaguars are going to be trying
to work something out, do some team tactics
to challenge for this victory.
Evans goes for the outside line for second place
on Dan Ticktum through Turn 10.
He's got the track position and manages to find the gap there.
And now it is the two Jaguars that are 1-2.
Da Costa leads his teammates.
We're going to get a final battle here, look at this.
Da Costa, Evans, Ticktum, and Berline.
Side-by-side we go, Evans versus Da Costa.
Down in towards Turn 1, the two Jaguars dueling for victory.
Into the right-hander we go, then again Da Costa defending that line.
Evans trying to attack side-by-side.
He goes with his teammate. Can he find his way through?
No, not quite.
The door's very firmly shut for Da Costa.
We head into the final chicane.
Da Costa leads, Evans goes for the outside.
On the inside is Dan Ticktum, side-by-side with the Kiwi
as they come through into the final chicane.
Out of the final corner we go now.
Antonio finished. Da Costa wins here in Madrid.
We now wait for the five red lights to come on
as we get ready for a bathstormer in Berlin.
As the lights go out and we go racing, good start from Ottara.
Nice one as well from Pascal Berline.
But look at all the Verola coming through on the outside.
He's side-by-side with Berline up the front row.
And then you've got the Citroën on the inside there as well
as they go two-by-two into Turn 1.
But Eduardo Mottara manages to retain the lead.
Olli Rohling through in the second.
Berline down into third place.
He's going to go into attack mode at the start of lap 28.
Nico Müller goes through.
The only concern that I've got is has he gone too early on his attack?
He's got the energy. He's in attack mode.
He will get to the front as he does now.
But is this too early? Ten laps to go.
Nico Müller coming through into the final series of corners.
On his 69th attempt, he will become a race winner in Formula E
in front of Porsche's home crowd here.
Nico Müller exits the final corner,
blasts to the chequered flag here in Berlin
and wins the E-Prix.
Formula E gets ready to charge forwards in China
as the lights go out and we go racing.
Good start from the front row.
Nice one as well from Berline.
Keep an eye out for Rohling.
He looks like he might get swallowed up here by Nico Müller.
Oh, contact for Ducossi.
He's just lost part of his front wing there.
Ducossi just drifted straight into the side of it.
Berline, under ever-increasing pressure from Joel Ericsson,
who's got an extra 3% worth of energy,
he takes the lead for the first time here in Shanghai
to the delight of the crowd here.
I think it's Zane Maloney that's come to a stop on the start-finish straight.
It is no sign of a safety car as it stands for now.
Double yellow flag as they come across the line.
Here we go then with Jonathan Ripperd.
He goes through on Pascal Berline for second position
and here comes Lukas Degrassi as well.
Four minutes of attack mode deployment remaining
and now it is game on for the win here.
Verne looking to challenge down into Turn 6.
Degrassi's there on the inside and he gets through for second place.
Verne, though, finds the door, finds the gap on the inside
and goes through for the lead as we come on the exit of Turn 6.
Jonathan Ripperd leads the way
and Degrassi through on the inside of Joel Ericsson as well.
One more lap to go here at Shanghai in the battle for victory
as Verne leads the way over the line.
But here comes Lukas Degrassi attacking for the race lead.
Lukas Degrassi leads for Lola Yamaha out here in Shanghai.
Lukas Degrassi out of the final corner,
a winner in Formula E again for Lola Yamaha.
As we await our first night race here in Tokyo,
it's time to see who will shine under the lights.
Jake Dennis leads away from pole position,
followed by Eduardo Mortara.
Look, though, at Tocosta coming through on the outside
as they break down into Turn 1.
A squeeze there for Mortara.
A flurry of drivers coming to the pit lane here
at the end of lap 18.
Now it's opened up, this race,
as we start seeing drivers attacking.
You've got a pinch point there
as there's contact between two former teammates
of Pascal Wehrlein and Tocosta,
and Tocosta ends up in the wall.
And look at Pascal Wehrlein, that front wing,
they've got to be a bit careful with that
because he might get a black and white flag for it.
Wehrlein out of the car for Porsche.
It's nose to tail between the top three.
Dennis, Ticktum, and Casti is how it sits on the podium,
but will that be the position?
Here comes Dan Ticktum to take the lead
against Jake Dennis down into the final couple of corners.
The most dramatic of circumstances,
and Dan Ticktum exits out the final turn
to win here in Tokyo from Jake Dennis
and Nick Casti on the podium.
We enter the final weekend of the season
with both drivers and teams' championships to the side
as they both sit on the edge of greatness.
It's time for lights out in London
as Pascal Wehrlein leads them away from pole position,
and we blast down towards the first corner.
The strategy for Porsche seems to be Muller
holding the pack up, opening up an opportunity now
for Pascal Wehrlein to have a bit of free air.
This is where, just watching this battle here now with Muller,
this is where he can really assist Wehrlein
in that first section of the lap,
consistently driving below his natural pace.
You can see the frustration that Evans has.
He'll have the opportunity, side by side, there you go.
Mitch Evans does overtake!
And a full course yellow, then.
That is going to change the complexity of this race completely
for Evans, Muller, Byrne, De Vries, etc.
It's going to really hamper their race.
It's almost like the racing gods are here at Wehrlein this afternoon.
Pascal Wehrlein takes his third victory of the season
at the most critical juncture.
With two titles to be decided,
it is time for us to write the final chapter.
As the lights go out, and we go,
racing De Vries away from pole position.
Evans goes through and cycles up two places
to now go into fourth position.
Da Costa's just got to keep now backing up Wehrlein
as much as possible.
Oh, look at this!
Fantastic, as Buemi then forces his way through on the inside.
Wehrlein's going to lose a handful of places,
so is Da Costa there.
And Dennis is right through.
He's now right back into play
and trying to fire himself into championship contention here.
Dennis is ahead of Wehrlein, and Wehrlein is out of the points.
Dennis on the inside, contact there as they go side by side
with Pascal Wehrlein.
Wehrlein muscling his way through, and he spins round.
Dennis is going to be out of this race, and so is Wehrlein.
Reverse, reverse, let's go, let's go.
Both out, the championship contenders are off it.
Dennis is going in a cloud of smoke.
Dennis has dropped down to 14th place and is out of the points,
and so is Pascal Wehrlein as well.
Taylor Barnard will make history as he takes the chequered flag
and the win for DS Penske here
at the last race of the Excel in London.
Pascal Wehrlein is the 2026 title winner.
