By focusing on strategic accessories and simple style swaps, she demonstrates how to maintain a chic appearance without requiring significant time or energy.
Yesterday, someone asked me, how are you?
And I said, exhausted.
And honestly, it's true.
This has been one of the most rewarding and tiring moments
of my life, but I wouldn't change a thing about it.
But I feel like so many of you are in a similar walk of life
when you say things like, I'm a new mom,
or I just started a new career.
These are the moments where we wish to look our best,
but they also happen to be the moments
that we look the most tired.
So instead of just not posting because I look tired,
I thought maybe I'd share my five tips
on how to still look put together while you're tired.
So let's get into them.
For those days where doing your hair just isn't happening,
a hat is going to hide whatever's going on up top,
even if your hair looks a little bit messy.
It might look messy down below,
but that could still look intentional
if you're wearing a hat.
It might look more devil-may-care.
Even if hats aren't really your thing,
I believe that there is a hat for everyone.
I've seen Anne worn just a regular baseball cap,
and that can even make your outfit look more stylish.
This time of year in particular,
I like to work with fedoras or berets,
anything that's cold weather appropriate.
And then as it gets colder and colder,
then I don't mind working with things like beanies.
There are so many options out there.
You have to find what works for you,
where you live as well.
There's always something that speaks to your personal taste.
Jewelry levels up every outfit.
It doesn't matter if it's just a regular t-shirt
or it could be a standard sweater.
It takes it from basic to chic.
Most days when you're just not feeling the best,
if you're feeling exhausted,
you want something that's comfortable over anything else.
So whenever you want to elevate your outfit,
you can do that with jewelry
when you're not feeling at your best
because jewelry brings the focus on something else.
And so that leads me to one of Mejuri's missions
is to change the view that a lot of people have on jewelry.
Like if you think about jewelry,
you think special occasions or a gift to give somebody,
but they align a lot with my viewpoint,
which is that accessories can elevate any everyday outfit
and just make you feel better
and a little bit more confident.
So they let me choose a few new pieces.
I've been gravitating toward pearls personally.
I just seem to think pearls,
whenever I'm looking at my jewelry,
I want to reach for that because it just looks chic.
It looks so classic,
but then it also has a certain layer of depth
to the way that it looks with the iridescence that it has.
So the first piece that I requested
was the bold pearl necklace.
I just loved it because the way that you can wear it
is still very natural
compared to a lot of other pearl necklaces.
The way that you can stack different necklaces together
and just create a natural look.
It's also got 18 karat gold vermeil
and then the pearls are freshwater pearls.
The other pearl necklace that I chose
was called the bold pearl pendant necklace.
I just was drawn to having that teardrop pearl at the end
and that just really helps me with all of my V necklines.
It's kind of a look taller hack,
but it also just looks so classy.
Next, I chose a couple of their dome rings.
I chose the pave diamond thin dome ring.
This one just is covered in diamonds
and so every little way that the hand turns
is going to pick up the light of the diamonds
and they do a really good job
of ethically sourcing the diamonds too,
which can be very tricky
if you are on the hunt for a diamond ring.
And the other one is the London dome ring.
So they have these different collections right now
of places that are special to you,
whether that's LA or London or Boston,
they have a whole collection
and you can choose which one means the most to you
or strikes you as being remarkable.
And to me, the London one is beautiful
with the star shape on it.
What I love about the dome rings
is that they are wearable art.
They're inspired by sculptural designs
and that really is an underlying sort of theme
that I want for every purchase that I make in my wardrobe.
And the last piece that I chose
was the bold link chain necklace.
What I loved about it is that it's something
that looks so natural when wearing it
with these other pieces.
It's bold, but it still isn't the focal point
compared to the other pieces that I want to layer with it.
And so as the full look is shown,
I just feel like it expresses my personal taste
because it's soft and sweet with the pearls,
but then it also has structure to it.
And I always like to find that balance with my outfits.
I love having a few statement tops in my collection
that I can easily pair with more casual bottoms like jeans.
So it doesn't really take much more effort
if you think about it.
If you're looking for a shirt to wear with jeans,
it really is just like, do I want a basic tee today
or am I feeling like I want something
that's a bit more of a statement?
So it doesn't take any more time
and it looks a little bit more put together
than a regular basic piece.
So by doing this, by picking a statement top,
it really helps you bring the focus away from your face
if you're just feeling like you're not looking at your best
and you still look absolutely amazing.
Your personal taste is being expressed through your shirt
and you could even choose colors
that you feel look your best in.
So for me, I like black,
but it doesn't have to be something
that is a color that I'm wearing today.
You could choose anything as bright as you wanna go.
I also love to reach for a lot of textures and ruffles,
but you can really choose
whatever fits your own personal style.
A red lip and some blush is gonna add a quick color
on days where you feel a little bit lackluster.
So I like to have something that's like a lip-cheek duo.
Whether you're wearing a lot of makeup that day
or no makeup, just a little extra flush of color
will make you look well-rested, you'll feel glowing in that,
and it can even bring attention
away from things like dark circles.
So when you put blush pigment on your lips and your cheeks,
it's gonna de-emphasize those circles
and even possibly blemishes.
So if you just need to have something
that you can have be buildable throughout your day,
that is makeup without carrying
all of your makeup kit with you,
then you could have something like a lip-cheek duo
that works wherever you just need more color.
And finally, you can add a heel to any outfit,
and that will automatically make you seem
like you tried with your outfit.
So the key here is to find a heel
that is easily something that you can walk in.
So on days like this, I am looking for something
that is a block heel.
I don't wanna be stumbling around
if I'm just like really exhausted.
It also could mean that you could choose something
that is something that you could pull on.
It's something that doesn't take a lot of effort.
Like if I'm having to lace sneakers,
I would say that sneakers could even be more of an effort
than something like a heel that I just slip on.
And this is true of just regular shoes too.
It doesn't have to be a boot.
It could be anything that you feel comfortable walking in.
So there's virtually no reason for me to wear sneakers
unless I have to walk just for miles that day.
And I'm not sure I'll be doing that if I'm feeling tired.
And those were my tips on how to look amazing when tired.
And thanks again to Mejuri for sponsoring this video.
And I'll leave a link down to their website below
where you can find each one of these pieces
I recommended today.
And with that, I'll see you guys next time.
Bye.
