I look at a player that can come in to be a very solid corner, a very solid slot corner.
He's probably not going to do a lot of stuff, a lot of damage on the outside, but could be a
very good slot corner. And it also gives the Bears a little bit of depth at the slot cornerback
position. You think about all the injuries the Bears have had, they had to go out there and make
a move. And I think if Clark Phillips is going to be available and ready to go, I'm into it.
Last year, of course, he suffered a triceps injury, missed a significant amount of time,
but this was a player that the Falcons were going to be relying on to be their slot corner.
There are times he can be sort of, you know, mismatched against guys who are taller,
but nobody's going to be out there working harder. That was one of the things that they
really loved about him. This, this to me, I, I really love this guy as a player.
And one of the things I do know, and this was, you know, something that Dan had written about
all the intangibles that you want out of a player. And honestly, it really fits the profile
of guys from this, from the Ben Johnson system, so to speak. And even Dennis Allen,
Dennis Allen, who spent some time, obviously with the New Orleans Saints,
very familiar with him as well. But this was a guy that Dennis Allen saw at least twice a year,
knows him pretty well being a, being a member of the NFC South. I don't know how anybody can
like anybody can look at this and see any sort of downside. Again, it's tough to see Dexter go.
However, this is a, this is an indication to me that they feel a little bit better
about the interior defensive line, how well they've been able to draft and,
you know, the kind of guys that they're looking for.
