Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video provides an exclusive first look at the Ventura, a new tiny home model from the Mint Tiny House Company. Located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, this 400-square-foot home is designed for both the Canadian and US markets, featuring a spacious interior with high ceilings and an abundance of natural light.
I just found out a company building tiny homes for both Canada and the United States has
their hush hush brand new model on a farm not far from where I'm sitting right now.
I have to see it.
Well, I have arrived in Chilliwack, British Columbia, and the reason that I'm here is
to show you a tiny home that has never been on the channel.
In fact, it's never been on any channel.
This is the Ventura from the Mint Tiny House Company.
It has dimensions of 10 feet wide by 40 feet long for a total footprint of 400 square feet.
And I am excited about this one for a number of different reasons.
Number one, the interior.
It's got 12 foot ceilings on the high side.
It's got these massive windows on the front.
So when you get in there, it feels anything but tiny.
Number two, this is the official, well, let's call it the unofficial official first look
because it hasn't been seen anywhere else up until right now.
This is the very first look on YouTube.
And number three, this is not a hurry up and wait situation.
If you like it, you want it, it's ready to go right now.
So yeah, let's have a look around.
Starting way back in the field, there are a couple standout features that I want to discuss right off the hop.
Number one, sliding glass door into the bedroom.
And if you look above that, you will see a window into one of two lofts.
Now, as we continue across the front of the home,
possibly my favorite feature on this Ventura is these windows into the living room and kitchen.
So this one is in the living room.
That one is kind of into the living room and kitchen.
And it's not so much the windows themselves.
It's what they do to the interior of this home.
And I think you'll agree when I get inside in one, possibly two minutes.
So the way this home is set up is they've got the kitchen on the end,
then the living room, bathroom and finally the bedroom on the end.
What we're looking at here is an LP smart siding.
It's the vertical panel and they've got the LP trim around the windows and the corners and on the top as well.
And then they do have a metal roof on the home as well.
So if you haven't heard of the Mint Tiny House Company, their HQ is located right here in Chilliwack
and they ship homes to both Canada and the United States.
And this specific home is built and certified to go south of the border into the US.
So if that's where you're watching from, you are in luck.
I think it's time.
Let's go inside and check this thing out.
So they've got the awning over the front door that can ship with the house,
but depending on where it's going, they may or may not remove that.
We've got a window in the door here and yeah, it's time.
Let's check it out.
Welcome inside the Ventura.
Did I tell you?
How about those 12 foot ceilings?
All right.
Fun fact, this home was designed to sleep six plus people comfortably, believe it or not.
So this, boom, pull out couch.
We've got the loft, two more, boom.
We've got the second loft, boom.
And finally, we've got the bedroom.
So that's actually eight people.
I guess that's the reason for the plus.
All right, let's look around.
At the entrance, I've got a few different options on where to start this tour.
Bedroom and loft access on that side.
However, I'm going to start in my favorite space.
Should I have teased at it and saved it till the end?
Yeah, maybe, but here we are.
Moving through the living room, let's talk about this kitchen.
So on the left-hand side of the fridge, we've got a kind of a pantry-style cabinet
and you better believe it's got soft close hinges.
Similar down below, just a little bit shorter.
We've got these stainless steel appliances and above the fridge, you got some storage.
Fridge right here, freezer down below.
They've got the quartz countertop along with a quartz backsplash on this wall, which looks sharp.
All of the appliances are electric except for this right here.
This cooktop is running on propane.
We've got the stove down below with a bank of drawers beside.
Let's have a look at those.
So you can put cutlery in there, maybe a soup spoon or ladle in that one.
And then your strainer in the one at the bottom.
Going up, lots of storage here.
So perfect spot for drinking glasses in this one.
Vent in the middle, makes sense.
This is a double door.
Maybe you put your plates, bowls in there.
And finally, whatever you want down on the side.
Lots of storage in here.
I'm going to back up a little bit because I want to talk about what they've got going on this end wall.
Okay, so they've got the big picture window above the sink here
and I know this is not a permanent location, but how about that view?
Dang.
So on this wall, this is an L-shaped kitchen and I like how it's laid out
because it keeps the rest of the home wide open to do with what you please.
So they've got the corner cabinet here for maybe your appliances,
maybe a blender or an air fryer even.
Another bank of drawers here, similar to the one we already looked at.
They've got a nice big stainless steel sink with a black faucet.
Again, that window.
Another one over there, same height, not as wide.
Dishwashers right here before we get to another bank of drawers.
Now, moving over here into the dining space.
Check this out.
You got the corn view over here.
This is a nearly floor-to-ceiling window.
And again, the amount of natural light that's coming into this home,
I don't know if I can really do it justice,
but I will keep talking about it just in case I can.
So going up, they've got the stained wood accent on the ceiling
as well as this feature wall right here.
The rest of the walls are a v-groove plywood.
That's going to be the standard coming in the home, all right?
So if you don't upgrade to the wood, you're going to get the v-groove plywood,
which is also, you know, it's a pretty nice standard.
On the floor, they've got vinyl plank running front to back.
I'm not 100% sure on the bathroom, but we will check when we get in there.
Over here, they've got the mini split up there for heating and cooling.
However, they've also got a backup over here in the form of a baseboard heater.
So you can use one, you can use the other, you can use both, whatever you like.
The living room is set up, again, with the convertible couch right here.
And across from it, you've got the windows on either side,
but they've kind of left this section right here for your entertainment.
They've even wired it for your TV.
All you have to do is mount the TV there,
sit on the couch, and enjoy your favorite programming.
Maybe one day, someone will watch this video from this couch of this.
That might be inception.
I confused myself.
I'm going to keep moving.
Let's talk about what we've got going in the rest of them.
So the first door on the right is into the bathroom,
and they've got the matching cabinets to the kitchen.
So kind of a perfect towel storage cabinet right here.
And then down here, that's where you're going to put more towels or possibly toilet paper.
No mirror behind the sink just yet, which kind of makes me happy because it's hot.
I know I've got tomato face, and I'm not really wanting that on the video, to be honest.
So from the vanity, we go to the toilet.
They've got the frosted window on the side.
Before getting to the shower right here, lots of space in this walk-in shower.
They've got the black hardware place to hang one towel there, two more over here.
And yeah, let's continue.
So one thing that people ask about in nearly every single video that I do
is where am I going to do my laundry?
The answer is right here in this stacking washer dryer
that is conveniently located across from the front door,
beside the bathroom, also beside the bedroom.
But we're not going in there just yet because I want to talk lofts.
So they've got steps going up to this loft and the first two lift up like so
to store a few things that you want out of the way.
And it splits off going either direction at the top here.
So the bigger of the two lofts is on that side.
That is the most desirable loft.
And then a little bit smaller one over on this side, but it is open to down below.
Which is going to make it feel spacious as well.
So one more room to go to with the sliding glass door.
And that, of course, is the bedroom.
Now have a look at this.
No built-ins in here, but that doesn't mean that they can't and haven't done built-ins.
They just haven't done it in this one because you know what?
Sometimes people want to bring their own stuff or have a bigger bed.
And if you get this one, that is an option.
All right, so you've got the bed here, a sliding glass door.
Maybe there's a hot tub outside where this ends up.
And you go out the sliding glass door directly into the tub.
Let's get one last look at this living space.
One more peek at the kitchen and all these windows.
Okay, a view out every window.
And then I think it's time we head outside and wrap this thing up.
There you have it, folks.
The Ventura from the Mint Tiny House Company.
Again, one bedroom, two lofts, one bathroom, stacking laundry,
12-foot ceilings on the high side, and all that natural light.
As far as pricing goes, since this is such a new home, I don't have it yet.
But I have been told by the time this video goes up, it will be available on their website.
I'm going to put the link to that down below in the description.
That is it for me here on the farm in Chilliwack.
I hope you enjoyed the tour.
Thank you for watching.
We'll see you in the next.
